Strategy: Little Helpers 2017

My strategy:
Have done all donations of barn contents to the quest. Giving me some roses to open up more fieldsin the event itself.
Then donated to silver levels of all tasks to open up the possibilities of doing the tasks the way I want.
Now I am swapping between event and quest tasks, keeping in mind that the quest will be closed earlier than the event is finished, so having my eye on that a bit more.
With 10 days total running time of the event it should be possible to do all of the quest AND the whole event task incl the cloud row.
We will see, if it is possible to get additional grilled corn for the extra prices.

I agree! Getting the entire field open is priority so we can grow the corn!

However, you can complete the first three steps of the first three tasks without using the Chocolate Roses! These tasks ask for Crops, Animals, and Fruits. They give you Chocolate Roses, Corn, and Skewers.

So, Concentrate your efforts on growing the Chocolate Roses to open up your fields.

At the same time, (If you have the resources in your barn), complete the first three tasks in the companion quest as the items received will help you further the event.

 

Good thinking as always Sir Pippin. I always value help on the thinking part. Saves me from learning things the hard way. One thing I did find out the hard way, even if I should have known better. Opening the fields doesn't cost 100+300+700+1500, but 100+200+400+700.
So I waited until I had 700 in my barn before I went to open that part Could have had a few harvests with more plots.

I know we are a few days into this but I read in General Issues where someone had used one the the Fruity things for the Choc roses Only works with the Grilled Corn. Also wanted to explain how I am using mine in case a newer player doesn't understand how to use it. I planted grilled corn in 1x1 plots. When that is ready to harvest, activate your Fruity Pancake(?) It's good for 12 hrs. Harvest the field and replant and WATER the field. Will be ready in 4:48. Harvest and replant and WATER again. Ready again in 4:48. This way you will get 3 uses from 1 pancake. Hope this helps

 

I have a feeling I won't be able to complete the FSQ. The times for these plants are just not working for me. Without the plus one or two bonus, it's taking way to long to reach my goals.

 

is there an SOS thread for the skewers?? I looked but didn't see 1 if not id start one but don't know what I'm doing lol never did it before

 

lennon, I just started a SOS thread for the skewers. Not as good as Illy's but it will do. I was thinking today that I might have to use some of my precious newly acquired PF to get enough skewers I know the only Buff that will work in that field is the Fruity Pancake but I was REALLY hoping that my CR that increases drops would help It didn't

 

In The Smashing Barbecue Quest I would Totally Avoid doing Level 6 (Silver, Gold and Diamond). For Several Reasons..

1) You will not be able to grow Enough Rainbow Corn to be able to complete Little Helper Event to get the Cloud Row if you consume Rainbow Corn to Mill Grilled Rainbow Corn as you need 10 Grilled Rainbow Corn that need 3700 Rainbow Corn..
2) The Prizes in Level 6 are not worth it at all as you do not need them. The Reason is all the Farm Coins, Golden Bananas, EP and CC was all Easily won from Monkey Queen Event
3) Therefore the Additional 96 Skewers is not needed at all
4) Only need 3700 Rainbow Corn and 160 Skewers....But if you have surplus Rainbow Corn and Skewers can go towards the Endless Rewards to get a chance of better prizes

I hope you can all make this event I think it is Totally Fair to all farmers with or without Harvester. It a real challenge to do this event without using any Buffs

 

There is a +1 crop bonus tomorrow. So we can make use of it with the Fruity Pancake for Rainbow corn harvest. Convert all fields to 1x1, plant rainbow corns and while harvesting activate the daily login bonus + Fruit Pancake. That's what I am planning to do. I have the last part of the field to unlock and I will do it today. So I can make the maximum use of bonuses of +1 +1 for rainbow corn.

As someone said before Fruit Pancake works only for Rainbow Corn and not for chocolate roses

 

Do you mean the +1 bonus from the log in bonus bar? That says its only for2 hours so we need to think carefully when to activate it for best results - puts thinking cap on - no help, must need some coffee.

 

Do we know if that bonus also applies on the event crop/land ?
Not that it matter much to me, I log in whilst still in brain-dead mode every morning. Grab daily gift, harvest all fields, then do the stalk and decos. Sensible people would do stalk first to have some use out of those bonus rows. I'm not amongst those, I'm happy if I am counted amongst thinking beings.

So my aim for tomorrow would be try to remember to consume a fruitcake, harvest, replant. I should be done with all the chokos now. All about those rainbow corn.
@Mooboy Are you sure we can't do everything ? Have you calculated the time ? I want it all. Just because.... I like to say DONE, and check it of my mental list.

 

I am using Fruity Pancake for First time. As it can only be use on Rainbow Corn Crops in Event Playing Field. Each Fruity Pancake last 12 Hours, so we can reap three harvest of Rainbow Corn. The First One Activate Fruity Pancake then reap your Rainbow Corn. It will remain active for 12 Hours as you can do two more harvest of Rainbow Corn.

We can get 3 x Fruity Pancakes from Smashing Barbecue Quest. But it is a Limited Quest only 24 Hours Remaining. But to get these 3 Fruity Pancakes you would need to Donate 1750 Rainbow Corns.

It is not simply to Calculate how many harvests of Rainbow Corn and Chocolate Roses. As it all depends if you are going to do Silver, Gold and Diamond of Level 4 and 5 of Smashing Barbecue.

It under 96 Hours remaining we have to see how things pans out for time being. I hope all of you is on schedule

German and Spanish mods are telling players that the +1 bonus from tomorrow's daily login gift has no effect on crops in the special event playfield.

Also, it's definitely possible to complete both the event and the quest, at least according to my calculations.

REMINDER: The companion quest ends in approximately 22 hours, whereas the event will still be around for another 4 days or so (94 hours).

After Mooboy's warning I tried to run some numbers. All in my head so it's more of a guesstimate than an estimate:
I have 3 fruitcakes= 3 days with +1 on the corn
I can squeeze in 4 harvests per 24 hours. I need my beauty-sleep, so I've calculated sleep to 9h
Out of those 4 harvests, only 3 will be having the bonus.
I assume 200 1x1 => 3x(200x2)+ 1x(200x1)= 1200 + 200=1400
3 days 4200
Event needs 3700 of those, leaving 500
For those milled -quest, it needs 2200 corn. I'm lacking 1 700 to do both
I should be able to do 2 corn harvest Saturday = 200. Would still put me 1500 corn short.
There is today as well, but I don't have more than 200-ish of the crop, and even with one more harvest, it will be a long way to 1500 extra which I would need.

So I'm taking Mooboy's excellent advice onboard and stop the quest before L5. Thank you!

 

Bonus, it seems applies only to normal & baha & tropical fields and not to construction area.


Its a pity I saw zerodegrees's post only now. I converted all fields to 1x1 plots and planted. But atleast I have 1 fruit pancake.

 

I have completed the Quest up to the last level (farm coins are the rewards) and the other one I just donated my 4th Grilled Skewer so that leaves me 6 to go on that one. I'm going back to the FAQ's to see what gifts we can get for any extra Grilled Skewers I still have 1 Fruity pancake left and then there's the bonus from Fuzzles today. Just hope it works with this event

 

I'm so tired from the Royal Queen's visit that I honestly have no idea if I am on track or not. I know my corn was planted last night for almost 12 hours so I feel like I'm behind. If my math is right (right now I have no idea as I can't even count if I have ten fingers or toes), the fruity pancake does provide a nominal amount over its investment.

Assuming 200 1x1 plots and 3 harvests it is active, that gives me 600 seeds x 3 fruity pancakes = 1800 seeds less the 1750 I needed to get them is only 50 extra seeds. It was worth it (to me) to do that step in the quest because I wanted the rare trees. I had originally planned on doing the entire companion quest but now I'm not sure if there is time to do both. Too sleepy to figure it out. I have plenty of skewers but need to count my corn....

 

It's also worth considering whether you prefer to get the Crates O' Shiny Things or to finish task 6 of the A Smashing Barbecue Quest Best of luck to all!

 

About 90.5 hours left in the event.

If you:

• have completed the first 5 levels of the companion quest
  
• have 200 seeds already planted and a harvest coming up that will be ready in less than 3.5 hours
  
• plant and harvest non-stop until the event ends (total of 19 harvests with zero idle time)
  
• have yet to use all 3 Fruity Pancakes

then you should have 5600 Rainbow Corn by the time the event ends.

5920 Rainbow Corn are needed to mill the 16 Grilled Rainbow Corn needed for the quest (6) and event (10).

As long as you have an extra 320 Rainbow Corn in the barn (and have enough skewers), you should be able to complete both the companion quest and event.

If not, then follow Mooboy's suggestion and avoid level 6 of the quest.
