Thank you zerodegrees for the breakdown. It looks like the best strategy for me is to avoid the last step of the quest. I do have 775 corn in stock but nothing milled, a field ready to harvest in an hour and half but the no idle time will be hard. I am not willing nor able to harvest every 4:48 hours around the clock. I need more sleep than that. The prizes after the cloud row are good (trees/stables) but recharging my batteries comes first. Good luck to everyone in reaching their own goals.:)

I also think that the prizes from the Crate of Shiny Things is better than the last steps of the Quest;):) Dangnabbit, I just read where the gift from Fuzzles won't help with the event crops:( I guess if we got everything we wanted we would be very spoiled farmersxD Maybe, just maybe I will get a Crocodile:music:

Yes, a Crocodile - or maybe two :pxD I also need the Myrrah Bud Tree, A Shark and a Salamander - and probably some other things my tired brain has forgotten ;)

Well I'm a fool! Miscalculated and thought I was going to be able to grow enough chocolate roses before the end of the quest to finish off that level and get a few more stars...turns out I was off by an entire harvest. So here I was growing and donating away when I could have spent all my time trying to grow enough rainbow corn! Hoping this doesn't set me back too much, but very annoying!

Down to my last 2 skewers so 3 more harvests and I will be done with this event:D:D Switched my fields back to a mixture of plots which will still yield 200 crops each harvest. The question is will I get enough skewers??o_Oo_O:p I can always resort to breeding:wuerg::wuerg: without a BBD to get skewers but.....Good luck to all!!:D:D

Wauw, great work julie1013 :) I still need two more harvests with 1*1 fields, but then I'm also switching back to normal sized plots. I have decided not to do task 6 of the quest as I find the crates more interesting now that the Monkey Queen has spoiled us with GBs and Farm Coins:) I'm milling 7 Grilled Rainbow Corn and have enough skewers for the event now that I've not handed in to the quest. Think I'll be able to get some crates - I only need Rainbow Corn now. Have 15 left + those I've planted on the field :)

I forgot to use the buff on the morning harvest... But since I'm skipping last level of the quest I'm doing very well.

The quest has ended now, so only donations will open more land

The quest has ended, the event has 70h left. They had different timers. Sorry Nellie, hope you didn't miss out on some goodies. I see my answer was slightly misleading too, the quest never opened any land, but the early stages gave you choco-flowers as a reward so you could then donate to open land. But that opportunity has passed.

I just did 3 steps in the temporary quest and 1st step of 4th and 5th level. I shouldn't have done that too. I did it without thinking. It requires too much of event crop. With that amount of event crops for 4th and 5th level, I can mill more mill item and get more of that box item. So left the FSQ unfinished and concentrating on milling.

Let me see if that boxes give me good wonder trees or stables.:inlove:

I did only two as I had to go to work. But happy with it. And during the weekend will be away from home. Going out of station. So have to think about the crops and drops.

I kinda don't feel the thrill of that box, so I'm thinking not bothering unless idle time and excess crop. Actually I thought it was kinda meh, I see I'm pretty alone in thinking that. xD

So now my full field open yesterday and companion quest finished theres no need for chocolate roses its rainbow corn all the way without any pastries!!!!!!!!. Only need 5 grilled rainbow corn to get CR hopefully have enough time to get crates.
This event is taken longer to do as cannt use buffs which I suppose puts all players on equal footing unless you invest in baskets which I dont do.
Good luck everyone in completing event.

Well, I'm not going to stress either - I'm on Farmerama detox - well, sort of :music::p Fortunately, this event is longer than most events and as it's more fair I really like the concept of it. However, I've discovered that the Green Thumb Rune and the LL Rune do seem to help get drops - so farmers without these two Runes might still have to work a bit harder.
In regards to crates vs. task 6, I think the crates are the better prize for me at the moment, but I guess that depends on your farm - and yes, also which crates you get ;) Best of luck to all! :)

Just started milling my last Grilled skewer needed to complete the event. Next one will be for a gift from the Crate:D:D I seem to be averaging about 7 drops per harvest. The highest was 12 (I think) Doesn't seem to make much diff between using 1x1's or a combo of all sizes. At least on my farm:p:p This event can be done without buying anything bc I haven't bought anything. Got all my fields cleared asap. It made a big diff I think. Still have plenty of time!!;):D:D

I finished this morning got the CR up and running! I cleared the field first, got the chocolate roses out of the way, then did some of the Quest
planted the corn, got the skewers, milled the Grilled corn and did it all without buying anything also! Yes it can be done!;) I am now just growing corn to get skewers to see how many gifts from the crate I can get before the event is over!xD Good luck everyone!

I have too Finished got the CR up and Running. I did not buy anything either. I did not grow enough Chocolate Roses to get the Newt Habitat.

The Smashing Barbecue Event show have been a long limited time event. So one my last Task to see how many Gifts from Crate i can get until the end of this Event. I have a Surplus of 41 Skewers.

Now on Each Harvest of Rainbow Corn will give maybe an Average of 6 Skewers. As we need to do at Least two harvest of Rainbow Corn enough to make a Grilled Rainbow Corn. Which Takes just under 10 Hours without any Idle time. Nothing except water can speed it up

So we just try our best :p
