I agree NOT enough time for the quest and to do the event itself.... one of them will go incomplete and if you don't figure out which one soon, you will leave alone... you can miss out completing even just one... NOT good at all... NO BUFFS I think BP knew this we would have to choose which one wouldn't get finished.. I was trying for both, till I realized the time just doesn't add up to do both...

What BP was counting on was the purchase of baskets to complete both...

Once again this event relies on in-game purchases to complete.

For years now, Bigpoint has assumed that we players have more time on our hands to dedicate to this game than we really do. We have real lives and we also have to sleep. This event is not compatible with a real life!

I have said it before and I will say it again for the BP down the back. If you market this as a free game, then all core features should be accessible for free. It is no longer a free game if the events - a major part of the game - require real life payment. By all means, provide benefits to people who are willing to spend their money. Give them the harvester, give them mill subscriptions, give them bonuses to make the events easier - that is all fine with me. But it is not fair to lure us here with promises of a free game and then say "oh yeah, but if you don't pay you can't complete the event". If you didn't call yourselves free I wouldn't care! But you do, and yet it is not.

I am not entirely sure what BP's problem is. For months, if not years now, we have been saying the same thing. Make it accessible. Make it possible. I cannot think of the last time where BP ran an event that was drowned in positive feedback. By and large the same feedback every time is that people could not complete it without paying and that the event was too challenging and borderline impossible with the time given and the requirements demanded. Either BP is blatantly ignoring our advice or they simply do not care.

It is not hard to see your feedback and change your strategy accordingly. What, may I ask, is so challenging about that? And who, pray tell, is responsible for conceptualising these events? Do they think the way to respond to negative feedback is to continue doing the same thing everyone is complaining about?

If it is money you want then I can give you some advice for free (and when I say free, I mean it - perhaps you could learn a thing or two there): you will get more money if you keep your customers satisfied. I know many people who pay, or used to pay, good money to this game. I myself considered, at one point, paying a small amount of money here and there for certain benefits. But then you stopped caring about them. You asked for their feedback and blatantly ignored it. You demanded their money, forced them to pay for the privilege of being able to participate, and gave them meagre rewards in return. You did not listen to them and you turned them against you. They will not pay now because you are not a corporation to whom they want to give their money. You'd be getting those sweet dollars if you valued them and listened to them, but you did not. If you want money - keep the people who are giving it to you happy. Because more and more people are dropping off the RL payment bandwagon with every new shoddy event you put out.

All this being said, I've enjoyed what I could participate in with this event/quest - but I'd have liked to have access to the entire thing, and since I don't (and now won't) pay RL money, I wasn't allowed the privilege of being able to enjoy the whole thing.

Finished the Barbeque quest first because of the shorter time allowed for it. Now working on Little Helpers but it doesn't look like I will have enough time.

Did what I was supposed to do -- opened entire field - planted corn - waited until I was ready to harvest and then used Fruity Pancake - replanted field. I have to wonder when people crunch the numbers on the number of harvests, etc. required if they allow for any time to sleep. Just going to keep on trying to finish.

Hopefully, this one will be extended too.

UPDATE: Milling #5 now (halfway there--30 hours left)
UPDATE: Milling #7 now (3 more needed - 10-1/2 hrs left)
UPDATE: Planting last field of crops that time will allow (5:48 left) -- all 3 farms will fall short if this event is not extended. Farm 1 -1; Farm 2 -2 ; Farm 3 -2. Don't know if this is because we were supposed to choose between finishing the event or the quest or if is because of the problems (lag) while doing the Carnival Queen that caused me to fall behind on this one. Not much of a lag problem with Farm 1 but it will still be short. I know I made a couple small mistakes but you shouldn't have to be perfect to complete an event.

If not extended maybe they will offer the Cloud Row in the Shop-O-Rama, Farm wheel or some other way.

Did like that the event took place on the event playfield instead of regular farm fields. Nice graphics as usual.

FINAL UPDATE: I knew when I was doing the quest that I probably wouldn't be able to finish the event. I chose to finish the quest because it ended first and I was really expecting the event to be extended; have another +1 or have some other way offered as the event proceeded to finish it in time. Surprise - no dice. Had I known that no changes were planned I would have went for the Cloud Row in the event.

I think it would have been better for the players if the quest and event finished at the same time. That way we could have gotten the pancakes and then stopped doing the quest to finish up the event. If we still had time we could have gone back to finish the quest.

With all the positive feed back from the Carnival, I feel all that hardwork has been undone with this event.

Im looking at how long is left and what I need to harvest and since Ive posted in game strategy thread I believe im not going to complete this now unless I purchase a basket or 2 which the answer is a definite NO.

This event is an event too far, we had 3 going on at the same time. Ok BP will say our normal fields are not been used for this event as theres been complaints about not been able to do 'normal' farming to restock barns.

I will keep going to see how much I can complete but not now expecting to finish

Disappointed that the companion quest has ended already. Missed finishing it by one harvest. I also had trouble with a visual glitch that showed the pancake active and showed 3 per 1x1 plot when the buff had actually run out and was inactive. I would have finished the quest in time if that round was harvested with the buff activated.

I like the overall idea of this quest, but it is spoiled by the excessive amount of time it takes to do anything. It took a very long time just to open up the field with the chocolate roses. There is no way to speed up the harvest time of either event crop - we are stuck with 4:47 per harvest. With the buff of +1, each harvest can make one rainbow skewer; without the buff it takes 2 harvests for each skewer (almost 10 hours!!!). There is no way to get enough buffs without buying baskets, making this a "force to spend real money if you want to finish" event. There is a lot of lag time between clicking and action, and also a lot of spontaneous log offs. I don't experience this lag time on any other site, just this one. Maybe because too much is going on at the same time?!

I'll continue on and see how far I get. Stress is off because I don't think I can finish anyway. If BP does another event like this, I hope they reconsider the amount of time it takes to do each part/step. Maybe consider another way to earn the buff, or more of them. How about some way of making them in the bakery, florist, etc.

Right now, overall thumbs down for this event.

I like that this event takes place on the playfield - no ripping up involved. However, for me having the short time quest and the event running at the same time didn't work simply because I can't use CAC and therefore, couldn't generate enough crops to do much of anything. If you are going to do this then at least factor in that people who work/go to school might like to get the prizes too but are unable to harvest as frequently as is required to complete the short quest and the event.

This is ridiculous for most players.... I am lucky enough to be self employed and at the moment can work my schedules around planting for the quest and competition BUT even I will have to continue setting my alarm throughout the night in order to finish both.... and only then just manage both, if I don't miss ONE alarm!!!
Sorry BP but a MASSIVE negative from me.... You have to make events just, attainable with hard work BUT without expecting people to loose sleep!!!
Carnival Queen - Full Marks but this one and attached Quest a definite FAIL.

After seeing what the additional quest offered as rewards it was all to easy to skip quite a bit of it, especially when filling a single basket with Monkey Queen goodies provided as many -or even more- rewards in 25 seconds. And to get the 3rd Fruitcake, 1,000 rainbow corn was needed while 3 harvests with it only returned 600 extra. In other words: the quest offered worthless rewards and could've left out of the event.
Without the need to complete the quest and by focussing on growing corn with as little idle time possible on the playfield when playing, the event seems to go smooth. Even the Skewer drop rate is reasonable. The no buff-use is actually quite fun, makes one realize the value of it. Seems I have 65 hours left to work on any extra crates.

I am so very >:(>:(>:(>:(>:(>:(:cry::cry::cry::mad::mad::mad::mad:right now. it was bad enough that we barely had a day between events and now this. it started with the carnival queen event which was unannounced on the monthly preview running the same time the wild about animals event was going on. now this.. parents day was running with the carnival queen event and parents day quest along with the party wheel and a few other misc deals. which we are not done as according to the preview we are going to get a Permanent Quest, Moonlight Mania, Wonder Trees, and Fruit Dealers Event all before the parents event ends. plus who knows what other sales and things you are going to throw at us during all this. IT IS TOO MUCH!!!!

I did not finish the parents quest as i thought that it was running the same time as the parents event especially since that is the way it has been done in the past and that you need the same items for both parts and have to use the same field. shame on you for changing this on us. this will be the first time that i have not finished 2 events (that were really 1 event) in a long time. Who's crazy idea was it that we cant even use manure on the crops or CAC?? you give us 1 field and 2 event plants and can only use water?? I can understand the CAC but no manure?? that is just basic farming that even the newest of players have access to. the growing times are terrible too. even the harvest boost that you gave as a daily prize didnt work on the crops. so that was a waste. I had a similar issue to another poster with the fruity pancake as it shows it is still running in one spot and not in another so my harvest was short and i didnt get enough to finish the one quest step before it ended. i also have a bunch of chocolate roses that are just a complete waste as there is nothing to do with them now. if you are going to make people have to choose then you should have been up front about this event. their should have been only 1 FAQ and it should have been the first thing stated that their were 2 options.

I have been playing for several years now and have spent real money on this game but after this event, the back to back events, concurrently running events and what is scheduled to come. i am thinking of quitting. the game is becoming less fun, more stressful and more like job than a game. i know people will say that you can just pick what you want to play when it comes to the events but isnt the events a very core part of the game. If there were no events we would just farm and farm and farm just to farm and build up our stocks. Sure there are quests but if you have been playing long and are like me you have most if not all of the quests done. even if you dont you soon would.... so then what?? the events should be a faster pace, fun and somewhat challenging aspect. They should not be unattainable, too short/fast, so complicated you need a college degree to figure out how to play them or several at once that you need a spreadsheet to keep everything straight.

Used to love this game ...now it has become stressful with back to back events and no time to play the game as it should be
A farm game where you can put stables and workshops out ....grow crops and spend some time doing FS quests...we don't get enough time to grow crops to even do that now ....it's rip your farm up to do events....The machinery is never on sale for the event ...it's always after or before events...which isn't helpful

I for one am now getting a little fed up with it all now
The drops are nearly NON existent
Given two mills to mill from...what for ? ...from the tight fisted amount of drops ONE would have been quite Sufficient
I didn't do the FS event for the little helpers.... AND am so glad I didn't ...it's sad that it finished before the event ends For people to finish it
This game used to be fun ...it isn't that anymore:(which is sad
If I get to finish this event ...it will be a mirror call ...with the amount of drops I am getting:(
All i wanted from this event ...was the camper van ...I think it's cute ;)xD

piggybacking events that have very high demand is ruthless, BP should be ashamed of this parents event. I know people seem to think parents are superheroes but come on! the quest should have been as long as the event is, given the high demand.

im dumbfounded i dont get the purpose of the scewers and the corn if all the donations call for chocolate roses.

The quest went away, like poof. I didn't recognize that the growing of the crops would outlast the quest. I guess I need to be more careful next time. I think this was a design flaw. Otherwise, I liked having a pretty easy quest without the difficulty of having to grow in multiple fields.

You donate the chocolate roses to the pig at the table and the grilled corn (milled with skewers) goes to the one at the grill.

the quest is gone and the only thing you will need the chocolate roses for now is to expand the farm... The Skewers will give you things. I wouldn't worry about being dumbfounded as it can happen to any of us....lol
