How could Freddy unbuckle his head gear? Isn't the buckle situated at the back of his neck?

BLZ - buckle same place as horses head collars (in fact adult head collars are mainly foal ones and this is just a scaled down)... I had a problem a couple of years ago with baby Lotte's head collar but caught Hector undoing buckle... Who helped Freddy, I don't know unless it was lucky scratching???
Took a video of my everyday dealings with Hector - he has serious attention seeking behaviour! If nothing on the table he nibbles whatever I am wearing... Got to love him WHEN you aren't cussing! :)

I just love him. I bet he was the one who undid Freddy's buckle for him!

Oral fixation. I had a horse that did something like that. There was a leather halter hanging outside her stall that she managed to get in her mouth. She didn't chew through the leather but she must have used it like a pacifier. The noseband was forever misshapen after that. :p

Had 24 hours away (visiting father) but with a trusted friend looking after my reindeer.... you can't believe how bereft and guilty I felt, despite having all my 4 dogs with me.
Anyway, very few photo's taken this weekend and not sure where we are here...
    Just a photo of Belle...
If there is anybody (reindeer) update photo's you would like, let me know, or I'll just add randomly. :)

And an extra, if you don't mind sharing my stress... Overnight on Sat/Sun somebody chewed through the electrical cable of my trailer. Plastic/rubber whatever (they are a long term problem in rumen) BUT the core is copper wires, could puncture stomachs and cause peritonitis in the next few days... I am hoping it was just mischievous and all was spit out, or all will pass through with browse/graze BUT, they are on "close watch" and not expecting serious problems with "whoever" until midweek.. I have my theory as to who chewed it... BUT reindeer only have teeth (at the front) on lower jaw..... We are talking about 8 inches back in mouth to really grind! Sweating here...

:pMaybe he was trying to plug himself in to get his nose to light up xDxDxD

Really hope there are no serious consequences to this escapade but sounds like this miscreant could be a long term problem. How DO you even try to stop this kind of behaviour?

:inlove:Lovely picture of Bella. She is very photogenic :inlove: And please try not to feel guilty at having a day off. After getting through the last few stressful months, you need to relax a bit before the rut and then the Christmas period hits. Here's hoping for a few more stress free months to recharge your batteries. Maybe consider asking Santa for some new duracells for Christmas xDxDxD

I also hope that whoever was responsible has no serious after effects. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and them. Love what BLZ said about trying to get their nose lit up!

Prayers going up for no issues from the cord chewing.o_O Possible solution: PVC pipe (wide enough to get the cord through) to sheath the cable until needed. I'm guessing that won't fit in the mouth of the culprit!

Great minds Willow - once I get someone to come out and fit a new cable I was thinking about using a drainpipe (rainwater down pipe) to hide new cable in and cable tie to chassis. If I could weld a box section would work too BUT I can't.

All reindeer fine but just showing my heart stopper yesterday and I didn't take the photo until he had raised an ear (they were flat too). 2nd photo is Storm a few seconds later after I had rudely awakened him...
They will turn me grey! :)
