Someone got to start it so we can huff, puff and plot over this event.
Disclaimer: I always make mistakes, so please do correct me when you notice it.

    When : 13th of June 2017 - 20th June 2017
    FAQ: https://board-en.farmerama.com/index.php?threads/melon-madness.28177/

The one thing I thought look special is the drop from the CR, a Melon Magic. From the FAQ: Buff Slot: Gold
Gives: +1 extra crops in the "other" category for 2 hours

We start off with 4 basic melons: Black, White, Yellow and Green. By donating to the quest you will get the other seeds that is needed to complete the event. There are also 7 different seed dispensers, that will give out one seed of the corresponding seed. A Yellow Dice Dispenser will give you one yellow dice melon seed every 7h.

    Basic Melon Donation, 8h crop
1st level: Black & White melons, 510 of each for all 3 levels
For this we get Black Ball Melon seed 1+2+Dispenser
2nd Level: Black & Green melons, 510 of each for all levels
For this we get Yellow Ball Melon seed 1+2+dispenser
3rd Level: White & Yellow, 510 of each for all 3 levels
=> Yellow Dice Melon seed, 1+2+dispenser
4th Level: Yellow & Green melons, 510 of each for all 3 levels
    => Black Dice Melon 1+2+Dispenser
Ball & Dice Melon Donation, 7h crop
5th level: Black & Yellow Ball Melon, 1095 of each for all 3 levels
=> 1+2+dispenser of Sun Melon seed
6th Level: Black & Yellow Dice Melon, 1095 of each for all 3 levels
=> Gives Bee Melon Seed, 1+2+Dispender

Sun & Bee melon Donation, 6h crop
7th Level: Sun & Bee Melon, 2455 of each for all 3 levels
=> Gives Dragon Melon Seed, 1+2+Dispenser.
    Dragon Melon Donation, 6h crop
8th Level: Dragon Melon, 5680 are needed to complete all 3 levels.

    Total crop requirements:
    Black Melon: 1020
    White Melon: 1020

Thanks Moraine. I think I know what Im doing was confusing at first when I first read FAQ's.

No drops to think about I almost got farm ready to get best possible results but dont need to worry.

No drops that is very nice. I'm thinking donating to first step first to get one seed going quickly, but not sure if that is the best way to do it.

Moraine, I'm coming up with only needing 1020 each of the 4 base seeds, with 510 of each color being used twice.

I'm thrilled there's no drops this time around, though not pleased I'm going to have to tear my farm apart to be able to grow all different melons, at least to start with. :sleepy::cry:

Thank you, Moraine :) Great with no drops and the Melon Magic buff is a great idea. However, I'm thinking of skipping this event to get energy for the events at the end of the month - like the Fishing event which looks awesome :inlove: Maybe it has to do with event fatigue and the fact that summer is here, but I'm not feeling the Melon Madness right now, but I hope that all that participate will have fun!:D

Thanks Moraine for the thread and numbers. As Kessari already pointed out there's only 4*1,020 = 4,080 total 8 hrs crops needed.
Be ware each of the dispensers only give 2 seeds every full time crop grow circle. It is BARELY worth placing them on a field. A single plot + CAC provides 4 seeds every crop grow circle, and ofc. with water, manure and/or SG applied a single plot is ready a lot faster as the dispensers ever will be (those can't be speeded up). Apply SSG and a single plot gives 6 seeds each round.

Most likely I'll only make use of the Dragon Dispenser for a very few rounds while growing one or two fields of them. Given the duration of the event and the low amounts needed I see no need to go for more.

Happy Melon growing to all. Keep smiling!

Thanks Moraine for crunching the numbers:)

I'm going to concentrate on building up my crops and tree stock instead of doing the event.

Good luck to everyone who does the quest.:)

I've changed my mind, will do the quest after all;)xD

Indeed, it's only 1020 f each 8h crop, Thank you for pointing it out. No idea how they came up wrong.

Habalala - I agree on the dispensers, doesn't really seem worth it unless we don't have enough crop to fill all available land with event crop

I really do like the CR buff, a gold buff that gives a +1 can be very useful if I need to build up some stock of "others" in some point. CAC takes a diamond slot if I remember it correctly.

I will definitely be in... I loved the pea event and looked really forward to this event, when I read about in the grapevine. I think, the pea event was the first event I finished (hadn't had the magic stalk open and gave away one of the givers.. stupid me)
Prices imho are so so, but the CR and the special buff is great. If you plant raspberries for example overnight and use CAC you get 5 from a 1x1 field...with such a long growing time, every single aditional plant is really worth it.

I will put the dispensers out, just in case I give away too many (happens sometimes to me). If I feel, I don't need them, I will take them in again. Measly rewards from them after the event, as its not linked to the level. But so be it.

Great, that there are no unpredictable drop items needed. Good chances for the newer players to get something nice.

Special Thanks Moraine for the numbers. Very much appreciated.

Hope that everybody who is participating will reach their personal goals. :)

    Happy Melon planting :):)

Not gonna lie, this event offers terrible rewards. The cloud row that offers +1 crop to "others" may seem tempting, but when you think about it, you might as well get pumpkin jam that gives +1 to all crops.

But it works in addition, as it only needs gold slot instead of diamond slot ;)

Exactly. Combine it with a cac watch your "other" crop grow in number really fast (+3):inlove:
    Berries are among "others"

Thanks Moraine for the thread & the numbers. My internet access is limited for the next few days and therefore I might not drop in and I am relieved that no drops is needed. So less time on net and crops required is less too.

I too feel the same. I think the past few events has made me very tired, to the extent that I had thoughts of quitting Farmerama and thought it had a bad effect on my health. But after a few days, my rationale said just skip events if they are too tiresome. That made me slow down in doing the Little Helpers Event and did not finish it. So somewhat refreshed. Hence doing this event.

    I am following you.

    Thanks for pointing it out.

Where do you see that fruits are among others? I've only found a page that describes crops...

ahh, a translation issue on my behalf, fruit for me is very often berries  My apologies. I shall amend my post so I don't confuse anyone else

No problem, there are actually honeydew melon, grapes, watermelons and passion fruit so you are correct - they are just all crops - so no tree fruits, unfortunately :) ;)

The Sun melon, Bee melon and Dragon melon are all 6 hr crop;):) So I think it would be 4380 (7hr) crops and 10,590 (6hr) crops. Good luck to anyone doing this:D I'm on the fence about this event but I'm sure I will give it a go:p No need to worry about drops:D:music: just a good strategyxDxD
