Strategy: Cat & Dog Days

I'm going for dogs first I think then hopefully cats and ive sold quite a few of both and have made some millions plus I have my breeding hut full 66 dogs and 66 cats I think I'm as prepared as I can be

Maria, even if you can't participate in the actual event, you can still breed. Breed only on baby boom days, then you have a good chance to get back some animals. Not sure if both cats and dogs are L30, if one of them is less I'd try to raise one of those and sell on the market as Clonahmon suggest. Or breed them first perhaps, then you would get the breed drop. That will also help you to advance as they will after the event be exchanged into EP/CC (I think - check the faq)

 

Sorry, but I read the FAQ over and over again... but where in it is it saying, that you can't get both CR?
Yes, it is saying in the little picture, who is faster? but it is not saying that only the first one will get the global rewards... or am I completely blind??? HELP PLEASE

EDIT: Thanks habalala.. I thought so too, that you can get both, otherwise it wouldn't make sense for me to donate to both groups

 

As there's nothing said in the FAQ about there being only one winner or there being an exclusion once an animal reaches a global target, I think it is possible to get both CRs if you did both cats and dogs and both Global Donations make it to 26bn before the event ends.
Same goes for the extra Givers, but those need an additional 30bn.

 

I also think we'll get both CRs if step 1 of the Global Requirements are met for both animals and if we have finished our individual steps for both animals. From FAQ: "To be eligible for the step 1 Global reward if reached, you need to complete steps 1 - 5 of the Individual progress bar. To be eligible for the Step 2 Global reward if reached, you need to have finished steps 1 - 8 of the Individual progress bar for the chosen animal." FAQs for Cat & Dog Days event

EDIT: You cannot use the CR unless you do all of the 8 individual steps as the last giver to the CR is a reward of step 8.

 

sorry but i love cats way better then dogs. so yes my first choice will be cats then dogs.. as i would like to try to do them both. now hard part is making a plan and shooting for the stars.... opps cats and dogs...lol

 

True, I don't see it either... but... but... there isn't any competition if we can get both, nor is there a rush to reach before goals are reached, I assume then we can continue to contribute after it's reached.

The FAQ is soooo confusing for this one. I'm sure once I see the event mechanism, I'll understand it much better. Sometimes you have to do a thing to understand a thing?

And the good news is that we all have tons of powerfeed at our disposal thanks to the Carnival Queen, right?

So one last thing that's totally clear as mud for me...if the global donations get high enough we all get those 2x2 givers? The card playing cats/dogs?

 

I like dogs so will probably do those.

Moraine you hit the nail! No need to rush! The very best strategy for this event, especially when in doubt of participating at all, is to wait and see (read here) how things devellop on the worldwide scale. Once it's clear which of the animals -or both- will meet its target, it's time to act and participate. The only thing to account for is Baby Boom as that one won't be around by the ending of the event.

 

To reach the first global reward 22,608 players need to do steps 1-8, for the second global reward a total of 48,685 players need to do step 1-8. Thats for each of the animal categories.
It should be doable

 

Thanks to all who answered my question! So....the concesus is that we can get both. Yippie!!!!

 

I'm quite sure we'll get both CRs because of the PF-plethora the Carnival Queen treated us with. 26B in ExV terms means that only 40K players should complete each side to get each CR. At a total 200 PFs -and getting all the needed bred animals to complete the rest-, which is a low requirement for a breeding event, I'm confident we'll get both.

 

I have a query guys. If you breed both cats and dogs together and harvest in one go do you get the drops associated with each as my reading of FAQ's is that which ever 'quest' you are attempting first thats what drops you get when harvesting until you start next 'quest'.

Hope it makes sense what im asking as im here to confuse

 

@phoenixboy12 : The FAQ state clearly that with each suvvessful breading of cats you get the cat teaser and with each successful breeding of dogs you get the dog bone. And that's unimportant, with which one you start. But it wouldn't make sense to breed only dogs and start with the cats

I just got a horrible sinking feeling that is something I actually could do....


I've stuffed the motel with 76x4 love hungry cats. Put ear muffins on a few dogs and got them the suits with a view. Now all I can do is hope to get some sleep. The cats decided to sing love songs to each others - this is going to be a loooong night

 

I can't possibly imagine what I will choose . I actually disagree with this choosing malarchy, since it'll just leave someone upset so...

 

I agree, but hopefully both animals will reach the Global Requirements so no farmer will be left disappointed. However, it might be more doubtful that the animal who is chosen second will ever forgive us so let's keep that a secret

 

Thanks Clonahmon, I knew someone would know what they are doing.

So if I breed 75 of each of various level of animal and harvest as baby boom and event starts I should have all the 'drops' and animals. I think but still may just take advantage of baby boom to do FSQ's, will see how it goes
