Strategy: Hooked On Fishing

I have changed my strategy. I think the premium is a better value. I'm getting such low drops from trees, I have switched back to animal pens. The premium technically is a better value. Two premiums require 36 drops. That gives you 4 fish. One deluxe requires 34 drops but only gives you 3 fish. Then there's the fact that the hooks and feathers seem more abundant for me. Just a thought.

 

Normally I make 2-3 Deluxe and the remaining ones are premium.....but I had quite a bit from the last two harvests, so thought I'd make just 10 of the premium and the rest plain fishing lures.
Well.....the first three catches on reg. lures were...Marlin!!!...followed a few casts later by a 4th marlin! What a shock!! (So, illy, you may have a good thing going here!!) Did get some lobsters/mackeral too, though.
Now I'll mostly use a combo of 2-3 Deluxe, however many premium I can make, and a small balance of reg. fishing lures....with occasional variations of course, to see what happens. This event is fun!!

I didn't start fishing until today and have managed to get 716 coins The new CR will be mine After that who knows? Whatever lures I can make and fish I catch will determine that. Sounds like many are having a good time....YAY!!

 

Tried the free lure and got a blowfish. So fun! Now I must make more lures

 

Progress report. 1230 coins needed for 2017 CR and all misc. but the sticker.

Standing after 1 round of fishing (Deluxe 9, Premium 3, Lure 1): 348/1230

So close. Caught too many Blow Fish today.

I have only made 536 coins so far.. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

 

I've done 16 deluxe and 21 lure and got only 499. Seems very random which fish I actually get regardless of whereabouts in the circle it is. One of my little farms has done 15 deluxe and 21 lure and has the cloud row up and running.

 

I've only been using deluxe lures. Tree's on 3 fields, and 2 full of crops. I'm done with the CR and all of the extras I wanted.

If there's anyone out there who needs any of the givers, let me know, and I can try to get them for you.

 

Finished as well.. did it with 24 deluxe... CR is out of the way and whatever else is just added bonus to my inventory.

I've been very lucky with normal lure.
Out of 10 times, got 5 marlins, 3 octopus and 2 others

With that, got the 2017 cloud row up and running

 

Finished. Got all Miscellaneous & the cloud row wth items. What to do with the rest farm coins. Any suggestions or ideas ?

Now converted my main fields to ostrich, fish, donkey & bear pens. Baha will have crops after the next harvest in 40 mins. So will be making ordinary lure from now on. There is one field of trees in mainland and after that, it will be animal pens. Back to normal farming.

 

Done with Fishing...I too want to know the outcome of remaining coins...Rest Im following 12ss12...thereafter normal farming...

Have run out of paper to put me working out on to keep tabs on the amounts

Now have 88 fish hooks ...63 lures.... 12 metal disc

And do you know what... I haven't done anything to make the first lot of numbers go down to these amounts ...haven't made lures ...just harvested fields ... whats happened to them

I wont do anything again and see what happens
For the amount of trees and growing refined carnations and roses ....am not getting a lot of drops ...ONE Lure

Wow, would folks who have finished already share their secret? I have tons of trees out - working for the deluxe lure- but the drops are awful. Is it better to go for the plain fishing lure? Worth putting tons of pens out to go for the third kind? I am unsure about my strategy. All I get is fish hooks.

 

Am having the same problem bauernfrau4 and I am growing refined carnations ...but they don't seem to be helping with drops either And my farms near enough covered in trees

 

Well now I dont know what to think. I made 2 fishing lures both were rubbish no where near perfect 'hits' and get 2 Marlins????? Ive used Deluxe lures get a near perfect hit and get a lobster!!!!!! Confused I am.

I followed BillyJoe's advice. So far I've collected 1140 coins. I have bahama, rain forest and main covered in mostly crop. I few trees left in the rainforest due to quest. The two other fields are mostly trees with a few pens due to quests. I've done some mulching, and I've got premium so auto-tree harvest. My trophies are L14/15 (the rune). Most of the time I managed to hit the tiny ring, so I only get 3 fish of the top 3 fish.

Not sure I'm the one that goes fastest - I'm always worried about tangled line. It's always such a pain to untangle.

 

Long as you don't make a hole in that boat ..we will be ok
