Night of Bat - Strategy

I'll help remind you then. The last time we had to feed the bats kebobs, and the drop rate was so bad they had to hot fix the drop rate so that "double" the event drop would be booked into our inventory.

 

If I remember correctly, in the last event like this you could continue feeding the "bats" after the event requirements. If you just go after the cloudrow, it will take 7.18 full harvests with CAC (188 plots x4 = 752; 5400/752 = 7.18; of course, adjusting for start up time to get enough crops to plant. I plan on leaving my stalls and trees out; maybe use longer crop overnight to encourage proper sleep! I'll grow enough of the event crop to get the cloudrow (maybe 3 days?), then switch to working on the farmer's society quests. I do like that this event gives time to grow other crops. So many FS quests have been added for this spooky field and, with no recent moonlight time without events, it's been difficult to work enough on these.

If you are new and are struggling to get enough crops, send me a message and I'll try sending you some CAC. Don't forget to use Pinkie Pie with it to extend the time (I also have plenty of those). I am happy to help out, but please don't ask unless you really need it - we can only give 7 gifts per day!

Thank you 12ss12 for boiling it down for us, you are a gem! So am I to understand that terror bouquets have no effect on event crops? Is this a normal procedure or just this specific event? I think back to all the MM events I've done and I've always used terror bouquets and I'm wondering how many of them I've wasted. They are precious and should not be wasted. Thank you for bringing this to light for us. Will CAC work as it normally does on event crops?

 

Molly, zerodegrees explains the history behind the confusion with using MM buffs on event crops in this post.

Event crops are in their own category and not affected by MM buffs like Terror bouquet. CAC will work as it normally does. This is just a normal event on the MM field.

My plan is to complete the event and then go to work on MM quests, making trees/stables from Jack's shop, and in general restocking some crops that have been used and gotten low. I know we can keep feeding the bats but I would love a week of MM with no event going since there is so much to do and the space is limited.

 

Cac will work, TB doesn't effect event-MM, just normal MM crop. There's a post further up that gives the history of the TB to work, and not work in previous events, but I think we can safely say it won't work for the event (MM) crop from now on. It is like the other +1 veggies/flower buffs, it doesn't affect as the event crop is just event crop, not flower, not veggies or MM.

Cac on the other hand affects crop period. So that one will work, same with the PJ. This has also been confirmed by the mods.

I read right at the end of the FAQ's: "*Please Note: The Crypt Vase will not effect the event crop, only regular Moonlight crops!"
So, the crypt vase is unusable for event crops. The terror bouquet isn't mentioned so I'm assuming that it will be functional during the event?

 

saturnia22, it states Crypt Vase, Terror Bouquet and CR's for MM crops will not effect the event crop. So Terror Bouquets won't work on event crop

 

Thank You for all the information. So glad I had time to read this tonight. I almost wasted Terror Bouquets. I think super grow, white innocence and fruit cake if you have them, should work for nuking crops to begin with. The cr looks great. Good Luck everyone.

I am definitely in.
My strategy: finishing the event crops asap and go forward with my "normal" MM crops. There are so many things to do like quests, production of trade products, opening breedings, getting stables etc.
Hope the drop-rat is kind to us!

@Decree: I remember that fiasco well. I've also noticed the drop rates for event items since then have been better. Here's hoping for the best.

 

Got 25 from my initial harvest. 60 is the daily average. hmmm. That's not good.

 

4 drops only from my initial harvest this morn, but it was a five hour crop that I had left growing due to a quest I was working on when MM was last open. Do our trophies work on MM field?

Yes cac can be used. I think the rune works, and possibly the trophies as well.

 

gardengal, I think the only way trophies work in MM field is if they are in the LL Rune. I got 28 from my initial harvest-8 hr glow whatever, trees and pens. I'm thinking it might be best to grow the event crops and get them out of the way. Then move on to longer reg MM crops for better drops (lol maybe) Plus then we can use our buffs and CR's then Who knows?? That's just one strategy I thought of......plenty of time for me to come up with other ones Good luck to all and may the drops be with you!!

I'm doing all the event crops first.

 

Drop rate for the short 4 hour Event Crop seems very reasonable. I'm getting about 5 drops per harvest on 100 plots. LL = max.
Three hours after the start I'm at 1000 crops and 49 Spoons.

I agree it's wise to get the needed 5400 crops done first.
