Pleased to hear that they arrived safely. I hope that they both settle in well in their new home.

The integration went well with the new babies chasing and the big boys running scared until adults realised it was just a couple of playful babies chasing them. Adults then went into curious mode, then settled on - okay, our peace is now ruined but we'll put up with it!
Picture is Freddy & Storm with Thor & Loki keeping an eye on them - guessing particularly Loki, may have his nose out of joint as he is no longer the biggest pain in the rear! :)

That is a great picture of your/their boys!:D The whole herd looks wonderful and Storm and Freddy are going to be an awesome addition to their herd!

Storm and Freddy today... Storm has stopped "honking", thankfully, and Freddy is coming to meet Elaine whenever she appears. Freddy, being older is more "human" orientated so response of both to be expected.... All going well.

So pleased that things seem to be working out for the babies. I am sure that Storm will soon be going to meet Elaine as well when she appears. At the moment she is just a different "mummy" to what he is used to.

You can just tell how friendly Freddy and Storm are from the last picture! I love the one of Thor & Loki looking down at the 2 new boys. How wonderful to have continued communication and pics from their new owner.:music: Kudos to you Karen for finding such a fabulous new forever home for them!;)

Sorry no updates of "Home Team" - I have rejigged herd, who is with whom, but forgot to take photos... I'm at that panic stage of year where I am checking Google Earth and Street view to try to find out whether it is seriously possible to park and maneuver reindeer transportation on a postage stamp! Silly time of year...
But in the meantime... Storm Freddy pics from today. :) and Storm is being less responsive to Elaine![IMG]

Poor Storm!:inlove: I think he is just "Home Sick"! I hope he adjusts real soon! It does look like he is still hanging out with Freddy though!

Poor little Storm is probably missing you, and is wondering who the "strange" lady is (no offence to Elaine!). I am glad that he has Freddy to look after him.

On the sad side Gandalf's owner has lost a second calf today, both unknown cause... not Gandalf thankfully.. On the positive side her cattle have had the first TB clear, just one more to go, December or January... so fingers and toes crossed...

What a lovely picture of Boris! He has such a soft kind look in his eyes!:inlove:
Oh no, such bad news for Gandalf's owner! It is bad enough to lose a reindeer BUT when the cause is "unknown" it just makes it even worse because how can you "fix the problem" when you don't know what the problem is!!? As always, fingers and toes crossed that all the tests continue to go well and Gandalf stays healthy!

What a supreme reindeer Boris is!!!!:inlove: Thanks for the lovely photo! Very sad news of Gandalf's owner losing a baby. I agree with sanddollar....not only the grief of losing a calf, but without a known cause is just awful.
Prayers that Gandolf will stay healthy as the rest of the herd and cattle.

Boris looks like he has a small third antler coming out of the middle of his noseband in that photo!
    Sad news about Gandolf's sibling.

Great photo of Boris, he is a very handsome man! Sorry to hear the news about the calf, as others have said it is bad enough to lose one, but when the cause is not known it makes it even worse. Fingers crossed that the rest of the herd and Gandalf stay safe and well.

A picture from today of Frodo. I'm not sure whether he is still gaining weight but he is still eating very well, considering he is starting to act like a hormonal boy.. This picture was taken just after he had "explored" (in depth) the puddle that Mischa had just made. His upper lip came up then he trotted round grunting with his neck extended... He's feeling better, even if he's still not looking wonderful (don't expect him to this year).

Boris update. Today I have given Boris a testosterone injection to help encourage him to strip his velvet as he has been chipping at it and I am worried that he'll either get an infection or flystrike. In UK it is no longer available as an animal drug so vet has to source from human sources.... "Sustenon" in humans, used for sex changes. Last year he had 0.1ml but I didn't feel it was quite enough as he was still half hearted about stripping. This year I have gone for 0.125ml... it may make him a little too "manly" :( We'll see.
Such tiny wee amounts but for once I wore gloves and didn't hold the syringe in my teeth while I got reindeer into position, not sure I want a hairy chest! :)

I think Frodo is looking way better than he did a few short weeks ago! I know he is not where he needs to be with winter coming on, but he has come a very long way in a very short time!:inlove: And was it a wedding last year they wanted Boris for and he was not cooperating with stripping his velvet? I do remember that!;) I hope that amount works just right!
