They do a "Santa Experience" type thing. People come to visit the reindeer "at home". Tiring as they open 7 days a week for 5 weeks but less stressful I think - wish we didn't have to leave home as it's the travelling, parking that stresses me beyond. :(

Thanks for the answer. ;)Yes, that is nice they don't have to worrying about transporting and all that entails.:)
But you have "self loading" reindeer. :music::pxD Too bad they can't fly.....like Santa's reindeer. :D

How impressive your Scottish babies look! :) I imagine they will be favorites when the visitors come.

Great pictures of your Scottish reindeer! They do seem to thrive there!:inlove: Can you just imagine if your reindeer could fly?! How would you ever keep them home?!! xDxDxD See, just another set of problems!:p

If they could fly they would be more than welcome to visit me. Just tell them straight up the A14 and then turn left!

Castrates are always more impressive than girls, just like geldings in horses ;)

Updates from USA, a friend found a girl a few hours ago with a nose bleed, we all thought it was just a nose trauma. Vet called but didn't think emergency so couldn't come till tomorrow.. she died 2 hours later. So scary how quickly they go from healthy to the rainbow bridge... she's on her way to PM (necropsy).
No photo but Boris up to his usual tricks, I'm guessing. Corner of sack of beet pulp, over gate has been sucked and beet eaten. Mice or rats don't leave a soggy sack! Boris does!

So sad to hear about your friends reindeer. It is VERY scary how quickly they can go. Boris should learn not to leave any evidence!

Way to go Boris! I bet his tongue will be "Beet Red" lol It is very sad news about the USA reindeer!
I wonder if she was in a tussle with another reindeer and got caught just right with a hoof to the nose which caused her to hemorrhage! It is way to scary how fast they can pass away!

Sandollar beet pulp (in UK) is sugar beet. It's white when growing but brown when dried... Hey if it was red beet then I'd have my very own Rudolf! :)
Mischa update... Abscess healed really well but was expecting scar tissue and no hair BUT the scar has fine "summer type" hair growing so I am guessing no lasting scars.. :)

There are times I could cry.... These ARE NOT MY REINDEER, in a similar state to Frodo but this was from the Worldwide reindeer site I trusted that I thought, all member looked after their reindeer... the question on this was why he had dropped his antler, not why they looked so unwell or up to their fetlocks in mud... I despair. :(

AGAIN... THESE ARE NOT MY REINDEER .... Caps I know,,, I am not swearing BUT need everyone to know They are not mine! - Sorry disgusting, I am ashamed on behalf of all reindeer owners!

I would have thought he lost the antler because of malnourishment, but that's me. o_O  >:(

Even if you ignored body weight (which can vary a little throughout the year)... But it is so easy to see reindeer health issues (long term ones anyway) in the density of their coats... Just scroll back, through mine to Frodo. Density of coat is so different. :( :)
