"Stocking Stuffing" Christmas Preparation Event Strategy

Just finished a little bit ago with 2 boxes to spare I do like these tulips so much more than ours! I got one of those Pomelo trees from somewhere in the few weeks. It IS very hard to keep up with what new things to get from where--trains, events, quests, etc--making my head spin Congrats to all and for the rest keep going!! p.s. I am not counting on a giraffe but I have been a good girl this year

 

Congrats to all who have finished. I'm still plugging along. Wish the drops would pick up. Should be able to finish, though. *fingers crossed*

 

I just finished and had 1 box left at the time! Cloud row up and running, and I think this was a fun event (so far) lol Good luck to all who are still getting ready to wrap those gifts!

 

2 boxes to go. Ugh. Getting there. No more until morning crops -- hoping they will be generous.

 

Doesn't look like I will be finishing after all - unless a Christmas miracle occurs! Will do my absolute best. It's drops I'm most worried about! Don't have enough BBs to pay my way to the end of this one unfortunately.

on my last box, I have event crops ready. But still need to get around 90 drops

I have enjoyed this event and haven't really done anything remarkable to get the drops but here I am nearly finished, just waiting for my last harvest of event crops with an excess of 200 Gift Boxes.

For those who struggle with drops, are you concentrating too hard on getting enough event crops to the detriment of planting long term crops? Have you got all Crystal Falls and Rainforest fully open? Do you have the Living Legend and is it at maximum?

I do have the Living Legend at maximum, I left the Glade and Crystal Falls with animals, workshops and trees, planting crops on the other four fields with trees around the borders. I managed two or three harvests of event crops daily and one overnight crop of (usually) Garlic and Honeydew Melons.

From the beginning, I work out how many harvests of event crops I need to get the required amount. I will only plant short term event crops overnight if it is not possible to get the required amount in the duration of the event and with my work/personal commitments.

I don't know if any of this is of any use to those finding drops poor and maybe, in some cases, I am repeating what these farmers already know. But it does seem odd that there are always some farmers who have problems getting enough drops in a lot of events.

Done and dusted for me as well, way too much event crop in the barn. Nice and easy event if you have all the land unlocked.

I grew all the event crop I needed, (actually a little more cuz I lost track), then planted my refined crop. The refined crop brought more drops than needed! HOT DIGGITY DOG! So cloud row is up and collecting.

 

I didn't get a giraffe but I did get a Pink Elephant!!

 

Finished the event on both farms this morning! Whee!

 

Shoulda came here when I was conscious and read the #'s.
I think (know) I grew 5600 extra bulby things..cos I seen four gift boxes in the faqs.
I thought I was doing well (kick self)

 

Done. The overnight crops were more generous with drops than they have been any other morning. Thought it was going to be tight, but finished with time to spare.

also those having trouble with drops make sure you are using 1x1 plots of land not 2x2s you will get a lot better drops if you do that Read my post #13 in Game Related Chit Chat under Box Drop Hustle

 

Should have the final drops I need in my next harvest to finish off the last box.
Meanwhile I sold poo for 1200cc's each. That's a big change in the time I've been gone. Break out the orange chickens and let the poo farming begin.

 

158 drops to go - hoping for the best with my rose hips! Missed an entire day of harvesting Friday because of RL work issues and getting home very late, so I have been playing catch up this weekend.

So far - I have enough crops! I am shy drops for two more gifts. A couple of long term crops are still growing. My whole day of not farming got me! Looks like tomorrow AM will determine if I need to use my precious BBs to complete.

 

I have been really sick with the flu this week
I still need 73 drops to finish which I will get on my next harvest at MIDNIGHT! ugh
Honestly, I am not sure I'll be awake to harvest. Sad I might miss the CR with just 1 box to go.
