"New Year's Bash" Event Strategy Thread

Maybe I will look over the FAQ's again and see if there is anything I want without having to donate an arm and a leg!! Which is sad bc there are no drops required.

 

I'm addicted to CRs, and letting them do the majority of the work for me to level up lol, so... yep, I'm in, on both farms, even tho this CR's not all that great.
Just donated all the goods for the quest... and for my farms it wasn't too terribly painful.
Nice to have an event that doesn't require any drops . This should go fairly quick since we don't have to wait on those darn drops, and the crop requirements are pretty reasonable... especially since I'll be using the +1crop perk from the winter calendar that I waited to use

I just donated all the non-event stuff too. A tiny dent in my Baha stuff but I'll get over it! I can almost taste those Golden Bananas - oh, no, it's not THOSE GBs, I'm just eating a real banana!

Edit: Oh dear, first real bloomer (without counting forgetting to eat Fruit Cake and White Innocence and CR thingy before planting my first event crop lol!). Trying to plant crops with same time as event crops, wanted to plant Passion Fruit - planted Sugarcane! Even watered it and started to (manually!) manure it! Now I'll have to plant something else to save wasting valuable planting time!

No biggy, I can handle this ... honest!

Understood! I am waiting for my second harvest and then I will fill four fields with Snapdragons, put Coralroot in the two Baha fields overnight and probably Garlic in two of the main fields overnight ... anyone want to hazard a guess what FSQ I'm currently working on?

Well that first quest didn't clean out the barns as much as I thought it would. Although, I'm almost out of seals. Got the event crops planted and away we go!

Why did you donate seals dumbunny? Have I missed something again?

On a side note, I am usually an animal/workshop type of farmer but I kept running out of feed so for some months now I have converted to sowing seeds ... I am getting a good build up of animal feed and crops into the bargain. No waste of CAC when events are on either. Win win all the way!

I'm confused When I add the Thunderclaps and Firewheels I come up with 240 of each but we only need 150?? The Epic Rockets came out as 210 collected and 210 needed. So did I add wrong?

Edit: never mind.....I went back through again and found where they go

 

I couldn't resist. I'm in, but growing feed crops everywhere at this time. Maybe I will use one field for each event crop. The daily gifts and winter calendar have been good, so will play for fun and get a few things,but am not ripping up my fields.

 

I just counted the number of un-finished FSQs I have on my farm. 127. I can remember, before I jumped on the "Event Parade", when I needed 23 FSQs to be complete. Most of them were the animal/breeding types.

So, since I've said repeatedly that I keep my farm FSQ friendly when planting event crops, and that I've made no real progress towards those FSQs. The time has come to concentrate on the FSQs for a while. Unless the event rewards are so good that I can't pass them up, I'll be taking an event hiatus.

when hovering over crops it says Snapdragon has a growing time of 4 hours 45mins but in FAQs it says a 4 hour crop.

I'm growing one last field of Snapdragons right now and then I'll have finished the event on both farms and be going back to regular farming . With the 36 hours of +1 crops from the winter calendar and no drops or milling requirements, this didn't even feel like an event. Where's the catch, when does the real event start???

I stupidly used my +1 on the last event, totally forgot to save it for this one . But I did win the 200% harvest bonus on the wheel yesterday, so got most of my crops done then . Just need one more harvest of each and I'll be finished and on to replenishing my potato stocks (used them all getting those lovely pink pens in the Celeb's Table FSQ , but totally worth it!)

I accidentally donated all that was needed for the 1 quest, so I guess I'm in too since I kinda had my mind on skipping it, I'm fashionably late to the party. The key question now is, what +1 from the calendar ? I think that might come in handy.

 

It was a bonus prize (I think) at the end of last week. I always activate them on the day cos I'm never sure if you can carry them over!

But it suited me to do so anyway - I was trying to get enough Garlic to finish an FSQ - now if I could just get enough Truffles, it will get finished! Only a tad over 200 needed!
As for this event, I am growing everything before I donate - far too complex to do otherwise!

Don't worry Moraine, you still have 74 hours to go ... if you still want to carry on with it that is!

 

oh yeah totally in. ran out of bahama feed anyway. Kept some trees and the menageries. Where would I find this thingie ? Hmm, I'll go looking in the inventory. Thanks Illy, I never pay attention to the prizes we get. Only the GB, but now I have enough to open the last item so I guess that's off my radar too

 

No, it will be on the Winter Calendar Moraine! It wasn't a voucher. It''s on the second to last row and, just by accident, on the second to last prize.
Nearly got everything from the temple!
I am about 150 short of that goal ... but I'm working very hard on it! Saving up my Farm Coins for 50 of them!


Edit: I just realised I miscalculated how many Snapdragons I needed (got confused between the two event crops) and planted enough to reach 9401, being a bit of a tightwad as far as growing extra crops goes!

Not so much of a tightwad that I worried about the extra 50 Suzi Supergrow I just used so I could finish these Snapdragons and go back to normal farming!
