Great picture of the handsome Boris. I also hope that Gandalf becomes your new "heart" reindeer and partially fills those "massive boots". I am sure that he already knows what a wonderful person you are and that is why he is bonding so quickly with you.

:inlove: the beautiful picture of Boris! He is such a strikingly beautiful reindeer! Your much loved, and very much missed Hector, was a very special reindeer and his personality was something else!:inlove: I truly hope Gandalf can be kind of special too! He does have a beautiful face!;)

Just put a "shout out" to reindeer owners worldwide (on a closed site) for additional help with Frodo... The good and the bad...My best respected contributor who works for Reindeer Research Programme at University Alaska says he thinks I could get him through BUT don't expect any weight gain until March at earliest... BUT he thinks his pictures show he isn't giving up, so just have to keep him going for the next 8 weeks & I THINK I can do that :)!!!!

Frodo is still about (TG) but has his usual head collar on as it still fits him. Still a worry but still with us! Fingers and toes crossed.
Really odd I I just looked back to remind myself of Frodo's head collar (memory burp) but I can't find any photos and I know lilac lady wouldn't have deleted her host space on FB!!! ODD... :(

Oh boy.. I was hoping 2018 would be a good one but Dilly Dog passed away sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 am.
She isn't usually allowed upstairs but she was off her food yesterday evening, tummy tender but not impacted, so gave her a dose of veg oil and her temperature was slightly sub normal. So encouraged her to come upstairs and covered her in a blanket. At 1:30am I awoke as I thought she was trying to vomit (but in hindsight maybe mild convulsions). I wiped her mouth and stroked her back to sleep but stayed awake reading a book... at 2:20 ish I had the feeling that I could no longer hear her breathing.... She was gone.. not a murmur and in a peaceful sleeping position. An easy passing but a little too early as she hadn't quite reached her 12 birthday...
Happy Hunting my beautiful Dilly dog, mother, grandmother & daughter, granddaughter to many generations of fabulous working dogs... xxx
    You will be missed. xx
Dilly right and her daughter Gingko left - may be a clue as to how old her daughter is as to when tree was introduced here!!! So sad but I liked the name!

It's never easy to lose a furry loved one, especially one you've had so long. This one sounds like an easy passing, no suffering.

Hugs to you and your family. It sounds like you were blessed to have Dilly in your life. She must have been with you since the start of your "Reindeer Mom" life. Bet she was amused.

Karen, Your dogs are just beautiful! I love the picture of Dilly (may she rest in peace) and her daughter!
It is always so sad for us humans when a dear friend leaves and goes over the rainbow bridge!
I am happy you were awake to keep her company as she prepared for her journey bless you both!:inlove:
