I was hoping Spring was round the corner but we have gone back to cold weather and snow flurries..
I look at my new boy Gandalf and how cuddly he is... All I can think about is a duvet day and if he isn't careful he may become a House Reindeer, cuddled under the duvet.. :) Only joking BUT!

Gandalf-shaped teddy bears? I think I would buy one. Probably less cute than the real thing but a whole lot easier to take care of :)

I have had a message today from a herder in Alaska wanting semen from my stock.
Something that hasn't been done yet in the UK for reindeer..
Oh my goodness, there are two centre in UK that collect semen for other species but not prepared to take my reindeer, as sheep are also on site but maybe in the future if "gathering" can be in their home paddock And Frodo is not up for these duties and Gandalf has a little growing time first...
Scary but something in my thought bump.

Did I see a fluttering in Twiglet's tummy yesterday, or just wishful thinking???

Not sure yet. I know Mischa and Lotte aren't in calf so presuming all girls aren't, BUT.....

Tummies are always on the move with the rumen at work but I think I saw a different flutter???
    Fingers and toes crossed!!!

To be honest, just wishful thinking, I am sure, BUT we have to dream. :)

Katya was funny today. She is one of the girls who hasn't showed signs that she isn't pregnant.
I know it was early but just had to check her udder while she was eating... She didn't run away but stomped rear hooves alternatively... I must warm my hands first. :)

Hmmn, I planted a rowan sapling in this corner of paddock. I went to check... it had been annihilated but the herd always follow. It's just a shame that they don't look guilty!

lovely to see a picture of the whole herd (minus Frodo and Elsa?). It shows nicely how much last year's babies have changed.

BLZ - only got Katya's leg though (far right, behind Lotte).
Photo below, same time as haven't taken anymore since - weather has been mostly raining but we've got heavy frosts and snow to come so the camera will be back out again.

    EDIT
Just adding on or I'd have my wrist slapped for double posting!
This is my sweeties on high alert when someone else turns up in their paddocks unannounced. Love it, as they welcome me calmly at their gates,
