I look forward to the Carnival event but this version is a disappointment.

The requirements for the baskets is to high.
Rewards such as PF, SG, GB, SSG need to be increased.
Prices for shop rewards are to high.

Please bring back the Monkey Queen.

I agree that the Carnival Queen has become very stingy this time round. I don't mind how we have to get the baskets but I would like the chance of more exotic gifts than the copious amounts candies which will become EP/CC or whatever at the end of the event. :(

Once again, an event that everybody loved and looked forward to has been altered and become so-so. -.-

Edit: I have edited this cos I missed a vital point - story of my life. I'm a skimmer and prone to writing while I am still too tired to even think! Please ignore if you managed to read my previous rubbish! :music:

@illy1996 we get the CR and 1 set of the givers just for milling 35 more baskets (we got one free), and playing the 36 games... but we have the option to buy as many additional expensive givers with the Star Coins as we want to/can afford to:sleepy:

I look forward to playing this game every year. This year is a disappointment. The fun of winning is gone. I realize money has to be made so the game goes forward but, once a year to get lots of freebees was uplifting. I think Bigpoint makes enough money out of us and could well afford to give us the "old" format.

I had High Expectations coming into this event and left shaking my head in disbelief at the shoddy chintzy shell that this event became.

I agree with the generally expressed opinion - disappointment. A fun event has been turned into a stingy shadow of itself.

For me there isn't a problem in seeing the objects and catching most of the best ones - it is the lack of good prizes to be caught. Would it really be such a hardship for BP to allow some PF and SG to be tossed more often? Would it break the bank for a few more star coins to be in the mix?

I played all 36 games required to get the row, then had to play 13 more to get enough star coins to complete the total for the last giver. (I needed 22 coins) Some of my neighbors are still at it - high level neighbors working upwards of 50 games to get enough to fill the row once. Why? Because many games offer only two star coins to be caught.

    What a let down!

After finding out the Pirate didn't toss much farm goodies, I had hopes the Star Coins were the key to get at least a decent amount of the goodies for a reasonable price. When I went to the Event Shop I found out this wasn't the case.

XXL Toolbox - 45 BB in regular shop - 49 SC in event shop -> 1.08 SC needed per BB
Super Grow - 20 BB per 50 in regular shop - 119 SC per 50 in event shop -> 5.95 SC needed per BB
Power Feed - 20 BB per 20 in regular shop - 149 SC per 20 in event shop -> 7.45 SC needed per BB

I don't get it why there is such a big discrepancy in the BB/SC ratio and why I have to pay way way way more SCs for PF as I do for tools.

Given the 1.08 SC per BB, both Super Grow (50) and Power Feed (20) should've cost 22 SC each in the Event Shop. Outrageous to add another 100/120 SC on them.
In total that makes two major mistakes within 1 event. BP ruined it. Boo.

@Willow unless you are purposely going after a 2nd set of givers, we've all won all 3 givers (and the CR) just for playing the 36 games, not sure you knew that. ;)

I so looked forward to this event as it used to be the highlight of the year but the tweeks have made it very disappointing.
Please change it back as we need at least one event that is exciting and worth all our hard work throughout the year. :(

Last year I was busy with offline life and couldn't decorate the completefloat. Everyone was so enthusiastic about the catches and I didn't reach that phase; so compared to that it' s more convenient this way. Growing an event crop is plain event element, miling also, so I won't complain about the mechanics at all. But in the one game I plaxed so far (I have yet to go back to the computer, the tablet isn't ideal for catching) the monkey gave nothing that I could have been enthusiastic about.

I like that the event plant can be used two ways, however. I can mill some baskets and later decide what to do with the rest. If themonkey's not worth playing, I can and just use the crop for the deluxe pheromons. My choice. I have yet to test howmuch influence the d.p. has on a breeding, however.

Peeps -I appreciate you mentioning the CR and first set came with the 36 games. I got confused about that while trying to complete multiple events and juggling late nights at work. :p

So despite the paltry prizes, I and the neighbors referred to are now somewhat happier (they missed that point as well) because we will all have the second set of givers we thought there would not be time to get. A ray of light in the gloom.

Sorry to say, I have to add my voice of disappointment for this one. :( Carnival was such a lovely event, a nice change of pace from the constant buy, buy, buy that showed at least some desire to say thank you to farmer customers who support this game. Everyone looked forward to it with great excitement. When I read there were to be some changes to it, I felt not a little trepidation, turns out rightfully so. I admit, I liked being able to access the float immediately upon having enough event crops (which were lovely, by the way, wish we could keep them :music: ) to mill the baskets. Didn't really mind milling them, tho I agree the requirements per basket seemed a bit steep. While Captain Bonnie's bonny, and her float's lovely, I much prefer the Monkey Queen, but that's just personal preference and not a big deal. I personally liked having more time to fill my goodie basket during the old carnivals, but can live with the reduced time given if I have to. LOVED being able to get extra baskets in the tosses, tho it didn't happen often enough. My biggest complaint with the whole thing is, like the majority, the goodies. Very little PF, SG, SSG, very much bon bons and candy bars (I had rounds where it was mostly bon bons with a few candy bars, and a lollipop or 2 and maybe some CC, and nothing else -.-). I used a great deal of SG at the start of the event with the plan of being able to recoup most of it in the parade; hard to do when it was hardly ever thrown. Okay, so we should plan on catching star coins to buy what we want in the shop. Great, except there were many rounds where no star coins were even thrown, and the price in the shop was way out of line. I didn't want to buy it, I wanted to catch it, it's more fun :p. In the past, it wasn't uncommon for farms to level up 2, 3 times (at least on Baha), easily from the EP thrown. Not so this time around. Normally I don't pay attention to EP/TEP, but I'm working to reach level 100, so I was looking forward to the carnival to give me a nice boost, and while I did get a bump towards my goal, that's all it was, a bump, and the EP I'll gain after the event from candy isn't even a ripple in the ocean :wuerg:. While I know BP doesn't have to give us this event at all, it was always appreciated when they did, and made us (or at least me) feel like our business was appreciated. The changes, tho, made this just another event, and a huge disappointment . Please change it back, or at least reincorporate the things that made it fun. 8)

Very disappointed in this go round of the Monkey Queen. That is based on past experience.

There are only two positives I can think of for this event. The lovely Sweetheart Roses, I wish we could keep them after the event, just beautiful. The other is the additional drop of floral baskets.

I would like to echo what most have said here. This is an event that is looked forward to all year long. I feel and many others, that this is an award for all the hard work we do and pay to BP throughout the year.

Please bring back the old format of the Monkey Queen. We would really appreciate it.
