New Baby reindeer to my herd

I don't either, now... Well it was a retired race horse (got to be quick to see it).

 

Sorry folks, I removed it as his syndicate didn't want it to be published just yet as they want to give him 3 months rest before assessing again, possible op and also someone else has first dibs on him... He's gorgeous though but I am second in line... Maybe I can share again in future...

In meantime back to reindeer.. this video is making me smile... It's only Katya/Frodo's calf kicking BUT I didn't think he was healthy enough to sire a calf... Watch bottom right quarter, close to darker swirl in coat. Strongest kicks at end of video.

And further good news, while Spring hasn't really kicked in yet Frodo has gained 2.6kg in 3 weeks! Still skinny BUT gaining weight in March is amazing!

 

All this news IS just wonderful! No need to strain to see those kicks! Simply amazing how lively Katya's
little one is, it sure put a smile on my face today! Thanks!

 

And mine too Sanddollar.. I really didn't think we would have any babies this year. So far only Katya and Twiglet I have seen belly movements BUT I didn't think I would have any calves from Frodo so even if he has sired 2 it's amazing!! AND the best news, he as gained 2.6KG in 3 weeks and that's before Spring has really set in... daylight hours maybe are helping???

So pleased to hear that Frodo has gained weight. He probably thinks he has to appear macho when his babies are born so best to start putting on a few pounds! Great to see the little one kicking.

 

Karen, you have done an awesome job with Frodo, and he is just a little fighter, bless his little heart! Fingers crossed he continues down this wonderful path and that both his babies are strong and healthy!

 

A strong start for the little prancer/dancer. Katya will be run ragged by this baby. Thank you Karen, for the video and the great news about Studly Frodo gaining weight! I think he worked up an appetite.

 

Yeah for baby flutterings in Katya's tummy!!!!! Frodo fooled us all!!! He gets the gold medal this year!!! I can't wait to see him thrive this summer!!!! Kudos to you Karen!

 

Not a regular poster, but I follow your thread all the time. In the beginning I rooted for you to buy Frodo, cause if he stood a chance, it would be with you and your loving care. Now I am pretty pleased that he is going to be a daddy and also picked up some weight. That is fabulous news. I am still wondering if the young reindeer who was with him and the castrates, is still alive. Congratulations and hats off to you on a fantastic job. Well done!!!

 

Goes to show the excellent care you give BoHoKaren. I am rooting for more possible babies and Frodo to get a healthy weight. He really is a trooper and you are amazing.

 

I have been believing the best for Frodo from the start - glad to see his weight gain and the two ladies with belly kicks! You have done a fantastic job in bringing him back from the edge. This happy video has made my day!!!

Hmmn nobody has told Katya that our glorious Spring weather will be replaced by snow and cold winds over the weekend - she has started to shed in handfulls.

Horse I can add without mentioning his name for all that where confused that he disappeared. He may never join us as someone else has first dibs on him and to be honest a massive investment for him to join me BUT he is gorgeous.

 

Well if Frodo thinks it's Spring and starts to puts on weight, Katya can start to lose her winter coat. Besides the weather will change back to nice quickly. YEAH for Frodo's weight gain, keep it up you're going to be a daddy!

 

It looks like Katya and Frodo ARE READY for SPRING! That horse is just stunningly beautiful, I would have loved to seen him race!

 

Very productive day today. I gave them all their annual inoculations... They weren't talking to me this afternoon OR eating their afternoon feed.
Most wormers are injected and they never sulk or go off food but inoculations are different. I get abscesses, lameness and sulks (nasty vaccine). Although not talking to me Boris still amusing himself.

 

It looks like Boris is going to take any ride he can get, to get away from the injections! He does NOT look like a happy camper! Poor Baby!

 

They're feeling a lot better today back to normal play even though their appetite is still a little suppressed.

 

Pleased to hear that they are getting back to normal. Are they "speaking" to you again now!

 

Pretending not to.. but Boris and a couple of others came to lay beside me in a 4 acre paddock. So although they aren't actively saying they are my best buddies, they are starting to think of me as part of the herd again.
