The Hunt for Red Diamond FAQ: The Hunt for Red Diamond

DROP SOS Thread: SOS - The Hunt for Red Diamond Thank you Joanc123
Where: Bahama, All 3 lands (Bahama main, Rainforest & Crystal falls)
How long: 4 whole days and 2 half days
    Crop: Giant Bamboo, 6h
Drop: Knife Blade NB! Drops from all 6 fields!
Milled Item: Jackknife, require: 100 crop + 10 drop
    Mill time: 2 min

    Specials
Special 1: Drops can be milled! from 5 scrap metal (a regular rare tool) 40 second.
Special 2: Before each donation, search the Game layer for the hidden reward! Once a step has been completed, you will not be able to go back to receive a previous hidden reward!
Special reward: Ceiba tree and Ceiba XXL tree (new tree) (and ofc a CR)

    Number of 1x1: 532 Bahama main 188, Rainforest 188, Crystal falls 156

    For the Cloud Row
    Total crop: 16 000
Total drop: 1 600 Daily average (for 5 days) 320.
    Total Jackknife: 160

BUT - if only going for 1 Ceiba tree (out of 5 possible):
    Total crop: 1 500
    Total drop: 150
    Total Jackknife: 15

    My personal plan-ish:
I did a rough estimate (guesstimate) with all land open, water, manure CAC, SG, Fruitcace &Innocent, Time 1h 5min, only water 4h 48 min.
First day = build up stock day - 3 harvests
    2nd day = 3 harvests with water , 4 788 profit
    3rd day = 3 harvests w/ water, 4 788 profit => total 9 576
    4th day = 3 harvests w/ water, 4 788 profit => Total 14 364
    5th day = 1 harvest w/ water, 2128 (no replanting) => 16 492
This plan makes for a 9h overnight crop as well. And we still have a few hours on the 6th day as well.

Disclaimer: Known to mess up somewhere, please help with the quality control. Also to all of us Have fun, and it's never wrong with a little bit of luck. Preferably of the good luck sort.

Thank you Spots - forgot to add about the hidden stuff! And thank you all that help locate the hidden stuff.

Thank you, for the numbers, good job. You're pretty quick on this thankfully.
I think I'll get try for the tree and see what happens after that.

xD It took me a couple of hours just waiting and hoping someone else would do it. Then I just couldn't take the wait any more. I'm sooo excited! :D

Thank you Moraine! I was hoping someone would do the maths so I didn't have to try it myself :wuerg:xD. I'm going for the whole she-bang here (of course :p), not because the CR's anything special to me, but I want those trees and the XXLs, and the mystery goodies, my personal downfall. I've got most of main Baha field and all of rain forest cleared (just hasn't been right since I had to take out my lovely mess a few events ago . Good thing I sharpened my axe last time so it was ready right off ;)), but will leave most of the trees on Crystal Falls there. Tomorrow's a little dicey for me, we're taking dad to town and I've got grocery shopping to do, but will get as much done as possible. Planted saguaro for initial drops, keeping paws crossed they'll be plentiful (should be with a 24 hour crop, you'd think). 440 scrap metal in barn if I get in a bind for drops. That's my story, and I'm (probably) sticking to it. xD Good luck everyone, and have fun! Don't forget, there will be hidden rewards on each level, but they must be found and collected BEFORE donating each round, as we can't go back and get them later.

Thanks Moraine for the numbers!:inlove: Like spotsbox, I will try to get it all, and for the same reasons!;)
Good Luck everyone, and have fun! May the drops be plentiful!:p

Thanks Moraine for all the fine math! :D My initial reaction...:cry: I don't want to rip up my rainforest or crystal falls. They are very intricate and hard to put back together. I want those new trees though and I'm a sucker for secret prizes. I'll probably work through my pain by the end of the day. :p

    Additional Event Facts:
    • I would not recommend to Mill any knife Blade using 5 x Scrap Metal, as they are hard to obtains tool dropS :p
    • As 12ss12, pointed out in grapevine Decend into the Temple Events connected to this event starting on 16th until 21st March, therefore we are going Trees for that Event
    • We can use Comfort Fields, Buff and Refinements in Main Field, Green Meadow and The Glade to Boost Drops ;)
Thanks for Strategy Info Moraine ;)

Thanks for starting this thread @Moraine :)

I went ahead & planted my overnight crops already because I have to get some work done for the rest of the day, then tomorrow will do my usual strategy of building up all event crops required using any buffs available to me to help me get going, longer growing crops overnight, then after enough event crops obtained, plant long growing crops (carnations) for the rest of the event for better drop rate. I wanted to try using comfort fields this time around to see if I get more drops with that but since this event is classified as hard I'm scared to do it in case it doesn't end up yielding a higher number of drops & I wasted valuable time by using them & end up not getting enough drops to finish the event. I won't be milling any drop items because I don't want to deplete my rare scrap metal.

I really hope to finish this event. I wasn't able to obtain enough drops to finish the last few events I participated in, even with SOS help, LL rune & carnations overnight as well as during the days after having obtained required event crops. No idle time between harvests either. Timer set. Fingers crossed. Hope for this event ~ luck is on my side.

    Good luck to everyone participating!

Does anyone want to know how many times I read the FAQ and failed to notice drops also come from the mainland too?:oops: I put out stables and workshops. Looks like my evening will be spent converting back to 1x1's. Given we need 320 or so drops a day I want to get a jump on it. Best of luck to all!:D Thanks for the numbers:D

Thank you Moraine for starting the thread. ;)

I got my my list for what i need each day the event is going... Didn't figure in the first day so I will have to redo math . I don't have all fields opened...But more then enough to do the event with ease I hope...lol

I counted 6 days for event do it may be just 267 drops a day. But if the other event is tied into this event or and getting the hidden items may cost us more? I am not sure on this anyone?

The breeding if anyone wants to do I figured this for each side..
    Bird Mammal
    80 Badges80 Badges
    160 Power Feed160 Power Feed

You will get a total of 90 powerfeed back. 100 farm coins..And other goodies...Note I did not figure in animal costs. Nor if we happen to get any extra badges per breeding. This is just to breed for badges only... all other steps in the event may cost you more.. Depending on what you have saved in barn.

This will cost me some power feed as I got some good breed animals... but I think I am starting fresh and see where I can go with this event..I am trying to save base animals... and now this breeding event is gonna kill me....lol I want the new animal pens..

How far is it possible to get and is it worth it if I only have the 3 lands on the main Baha? Don't have the fourth yet, only have 4 chambers opened. Needed some crops for FSQ and a good nighttime crop before opening chambers. I don't have rainforest or any crystal falls yet either. Am considering doing it for the tree if nothing else, beautiful tree. :inlove:

I really hate ripping up my farm to do events. I haven't done that many yet either. Don't want to spin my wheels and I just work on FSQ, mostly.

    I have some diff numbers...

I'm going to leave the CF covered in trees.
That gives me two fields with a few trees that will remain in place. I like using estimates...
Two fields with room for roughly 333 small plots TOTAL... using CAC... roughly 1,000 net crops per harvest...
3 harvests per day = 3,000 per day. 16k /3k = 5+ days for event crops w/ the 9-ish hr crop at night, 11h-water. The event is 6 days long, less for those of us on the wrong side of the planet that value our BEAUTY sleep.
I doubt that I will need to use any scrap metal but interesting that it's an option for us. I too have 267 average drop count per day.

For the breeding event I have started by placing 66 mammals and 66 birds in the love shack/hotel. I decided to put and leave critters on most of the mainland unless the drops prove problematic. Looks like a pretty easy event for my barn.

I don't really see this being hard for those of us that have all of Baha open, or with old established farms. The rest of you... plan ahead and GOOD LUCK!!!

    EDIT:
Domi, just saw your post I'm confused on what you have open. Maybe my numbers will help you figure out your chances. My policy was to put FSQs on hold during events and do as much of each event as I could until I had every thing open. There are people that choose to do the opposite. And... things have changed in the years since I started playing, like currently non-stop events. But... we usually get better EP/BEP/etc from events than we do from FSQs which will help your farm to advance faster. I was an EP/BEP... glutton until I reached level 90 then I cut back to spend more time in RL. Then RL happened and I haven't had much time for games. Lots of times we get prizes from events that are useful for FSQs.

    Yet another EDIT:
Forgot to say... Thanks for the numbers! And pointing out the hidden prizes, like easter eggs, I didn't read that much of the FAQ. Y'all saved my Farm [donkey] once again. LOL!

Since you get drops from the mainland as well you should be able to get one of the new trees and prizes along the way. I don't think you should expect much more than that or it will just be a stressful time for you.

Yikes! Double events again! I was tempted to skip this event - but the hidden treasures have me. Any way we can report where they are and then someone keep a tally in a post they can edit? I do have over 100 scrap metal to help in a pinch.
It seems like one of the plants on baha drop them. I looked at the Refinement Strategy guide and don't see the plant listed. Anyone know? Maybe it drops from trees? https://board-en.farmerama.com/inde...-time-reducing-tools-and-artisan-drops.15515/

I admit - I am missing the advantage of comfort fields with refinements. Is it so that you can minimize the use of SG and SSG?
I still don't have all my carnation refinements. Only two left and of course I can't seem to get the one I want! SG Love!

I posted the question of what drops scrap metal in the General Issues section - Will post the reply.

I agree totally, Clash. Events can be very frustrating when you're still a young farmer. The key is to enjoy them! :D I think getting at least 1 or 2 of the trees is totally doable also, and if it should happen that lilDomi gets a giver in the process, that never hurts either, as it could turn out to be a hot ticket item next G&T. ;) With my little farm, I don't worry if I finish or not, I do as much as I feel like, and gather as many of the desirable gifts as I can for future use. I leave my big farm to do the stressing for me.:wuerg:xD

Excellent idea, tb! (is it okay if I call you tb? If you prefer not, don't hesitate to let me know, some farmers are very particular with their names. I'm just lazy and like shortcuts, lol) Something like the way farmers post to let everyone know what the daily prize is during gift calendars. :inlove: Assuming it's in the same place for everyone, of course.

    * Anyone interested in the upcoming Temple event, be aware that the rumor thread indicates mandatory participation in Red Diamond event to be able to complete Temple. Just something to keep in mind. :) *

tinylittlebit - I would advise against any one using scrap metal to Mill knife blades. But instead use Comfort Fields Refinements combo using SG, using SSG gives +4 on comfort fields

Alternatively, use Magic Trees, Howie Donuts, Open as many fields as you can, minimise farm idle time, move animal/crop trophies (if possible upgrade them asap), use SOS Thread for assistance on Drops, Prepare Farms to get best possible drops prior to event starting

I always rip my farm for events. That is why I manage to complete events as I can resume to normal farming or FSQ once the event is out of the way

I have planted Saguaro in all three baha fields (The Baha Crop) it is an 24 hour crop. So using 1x1 in theory will give much better drops that any Baha tree. They are needed for new FSQ so I can kill two birds with one stone so to speak;)

OH hidden treasures to find, we must do this before donating any Jack knifes by the look of things there at 8 Hidden Tresses to be found:D
