Easter Festival Strategy Thread

I also planted 6 2x2's and got 3 nests! 1st harvest. I replanted also using 6 2x2's, if drops are the same I will then switch to 1x1's and see what happens there! the Easter playing field!

 

At the cost of 60 BB the Easter Bunny presented me 15 crates which I didn't hesitate to open. Inside I found a bunch of flowers, 2 drop- givers (good for 6 drops per 8hrs), 5 drops, 2 Easter Nests.

I could open 2 parts of the field right away and am milling 1 more Easter Nest to open the 4th part as well. Still had enough crop to do a small refinement.. which gave me the 100% Event Plant EP booster.

Kick start. I already luv that Bunny!

edit: milling done. Now 24 fields (2x2) filled with crop. Whoa!

 

My first harvest gave 2 drops. 6 2x2

a Valid point, but me thinks (ooohhh hthe pain - the pain!) that drop will be what we all wait for. The event last for 7 days, and the beautysleep (I sleep for 10h every night, weekends easily 12h) takes time away as well. Meaning the the time we do have need to be very effective.

Without Mir, I am a bit lost on how to calculate the reduction. But I think it's like this
Red growth time 10%+20% =30% => 3h 58 min
Red from water (already 20%+30%)=50% => 1h 59 min
The manure 10% => down to 1h and 47 min. If I'm in the ballpark of being correct, we can use 2h for a rough estimate.
2h for every harvest, a conservative estimate of 12h play time (some of us need more beauty sleep than others!)
=6 harvest.
36 large fields gives 4 seeds (not counting the one used for re-seeding) = 144 every harvest.
Need 2600 for the CR (2600/144)= 18 harvests, so 3 days. Counting backwards I need to start saving crop on Sunday the latest. (remember 1 harvest while I become beautiful).

If bad luck , no improvements found, no beauty during sleep: Add another day - ish. So Saturday morning all plots need to be open and ready to be harvested.

The other way I actually fear I won't get enough drops. Remember what the offers are. Phoenix might call it a trap, but I see it more as sign on what kind of obstacle there is. Also remember we don't have any of our usual ways of tweaking drops. Not even sure the Living legend rune works. (I do hope the growth boost manure rune - thingie does.)

My two cents, and the pain is now all yours trying to make sense out of this. Poor Mooboy, I'm sorry.

 

Oh dear Moraine if you require 10-12 hours for beauty sleep then I must require weeks to beautify myself

I like your workings, im just going to use water and poo through the day and just see how event goes, and with us having at least 1 day of MM I will focus on that to open up mushroom field. Sorry to go off topic regarding this event but with over 4 hours for growing event crop it gives me time on Sunday to eat all my eggs working on MM

 

Moraine, I'm not Mir but time reduction bonuses are applied one right after the other reducing time that is left. When water and manure have their effectiveness increased, you don't add that percentage but rather multiply it by what it is effecting (water or manure).

Event crop is 5 hours 40 minutes (in decimal form it is 5.67 hours)

If you get the 30% water effectiveness, it does not mean an additional 30% but is an additional 30% of the time that was saved on the 20%. I know....clear as mud

Let's look at the math....math makes much more sense than trying to explain math without an example

Water gives 20% time reduction (.20) and to find 30% more effectiveness (.30), you multiply .2*.3=.06 which is 6% and you add it to the base 20%.
This means that water now reduces crop time by 26%

New crop time with water alone is 5.67 hours * .74 = 4.196 (4 hours 12 min)

You do the same with manure...already 10% (with tree of wisdom rune) and you get the 10% effectiveness refinement.

.10*.10 = .01 which is 1% making manure 11% effective.

The time reduction refinements are applied one right after another reducing time left. There are 3 (5%, 10%, 20%)

So assuming you get all the event crop refinements and using water and manure, your crop time becomes:

5.67*.95*.9*.8*.74*.89 = 2.55 hours which is 2 hours 33 minutes

After buying 10 of those crates I had a few flowers to play with. Got the 10% Fertilizer Love on the first try. Tried 2 more and got CC and EP.

I know, but I tested it on Mir's database and on a field and the correct way didn't add up Was doing my head in. But the wrong way got the right numbers. Anyway, it makes sense to do it the right way and not the wrong way.


But if it's 2h and 33 min, then the day has to be 15h to account for 6 harvests (+ 1 overnight) so the Saturday/Sunday still is my deadline for CR-crop savings.

 

Am not liking this event very much with the green house ...Have only ever got refined carnations from it ... other times that I have tried for other crops .... have just wasted MANY crops

 

I tried to get more crop by buying a few more Easter crates and all I got was two more givers and some empty nests. Which means I might not have as much of a problem with drops. I will try the refining part as soon as I get the land open and have some extra crop to work with.

What did you test? Do you remember what didn't add up?

 

I did one farm with 2x2s - got 3 drops.
The other farm was 1x2 and received 2 drops. The 1x2 is my lower level farm.
Both have the rune for water and manure open. Applying both was 4hr and 5 min.

Ready to plant second round. Its a work day so didn't get to start until lunch.

Thanks everyone for their feedback so far. Time to look and see if I want to invest BBs on crates... Your reports so far are leaning that it is favorable.

 

Thank goodness Mir! After I posted, I worried I messed it up and only caused more confusion

I haven't done the event refinements yet (not sure I will) so no way to double check.

 

Decided to try the refinery and increased water effectiveness 30% on the first try. That's a good one, I'll take it.

 

I've tried the refinery 3 times so far and used 130 eggs and received no refinements. Very disappointed not to have one even though I know this is how refinements work. Not sure I can justify to myself wasting any more event crop on it.

 

hey didnt they say that when they first created that spot for us that you would be able to buy your way through those quest and start as though if it was level one field each time they use it in the future. I guess that is another one they did not plan of keeping going. I loved the original idea and concept of that field but now its more about the ______. I left that blank in there because you can put what you like into that space. I did not want to do it myself and get into trouble for saying it myself. Dang game fairs I would like to see one finally or be able to say something to it.

 

No, I don't think they said that. But here is the FAQ for the first event on the event field, so you can see for yourself.

 

The drop of basic nest is slightly random. But getting them as gifts from neighbours is huge help which helps to keep a daily balance of daily drop rate target. With more area to unlock in pipeline will increase drops.

Ouch LDCROW, that is what I feared to be on unlucky side of refinements. As mindy1701 was lucky.it makes a nice change that manure has plummeted in price.
