Easter Festival Strategy Thread

All my fields are open (1x2s). After the next harvest I will switch to 1x1s to see if the drops improve.
BP might have gained more interest in the Greenhouse/Refinery if an increase in Drop Rate had been included as a possibility.
I would be willing to continue trying for that refinement.

 

I bought all the easter crates I could (Max of 30) on both farms. Got a giver for each farm plus a few plants and empty nests. Don't know that I expected more or less than I got...I do think they helped give a bit of a leg up at the start of this event.

Okay, so started with 2x2's - drop rate was abysmal so after the middle of the night harvest, I switched both farms to 1x1's - drop rate is about double.

Good thing I have chronic insomnia...otherwise this getting up in the middle of the night to harvest might actually be difficult.

 

I am doing a mix of 2x2 and 1x1. Hopefully that will help a little with the drops I bought a few of the crates and won a bunny so I'll have a def 3 nests every 8 hrs from there Good luck to all!!

 

Only one small comment. Identical refinements within the greenhouse are added.
The time reduction refinements are calculated as 5%+10%+20%=35%

Minimum crop time should be 2:55 hours (2 hours 25 minutes)

I stressed the within part because identical bonuses that exist within and outside the greenhouse are multiplied.

 

I have decided to play this one straight with no gambling or stress. If I get the CR Yea! & if not, no big deal.

I just do not want to buy into BP nickle & dimeing us in order to enhance our fun and enjoyment. I do not mind occasionally paying for extra goodies in order to keep the lights on for this game to work.

This is an age old grip and everyone has there opinion on where they stand on this issue. I am pointing this out not so much to grip, but to remind each other not to spend more than you have. We do not have to spend RM to have fun, because the real fun is in this forum and the IGM's we send each other. They cost nothing.

As Easter rolls around, let us return to the true meaning of Easter. Again, we all have different opinions about the true meaning of Easter and I respect them all. I think the one thing we can all agree about is to unite with each other in love and harmony to celebrate the wonderment of creation. It is time to celebrate and have FUN! in whatever colorful manner that suits your fancy.

Back on topic so the Mod don't get me, I would like to remind everyone that if you use all your eggs. You will get 5 new ones. I did this last night when I was able to open new space, but I did not fill it all the way. I waited about 20 minutes and bam - 5 new eggs so I planted them.

The next 5 eggs did not come again in 20 minutes and it was time for bed, but I had 5 new eggs this morning. Yea!

 

Not sure what to do now. I have all fields open now. Do I just keep plugging on with the nests or gamble in the Greenhouse?
I have tried a couple of rounds for refinements and results are as rubbish as ever... Just wasted eggs.
Has anyone got a decent refinement yet?

 

No, it doesn't work like that, it works like pnp described I tested it yesterday with the 20% early bloomer and the 9% early bloomer refinement for raspberries both active. Base time for raspberries is 17h 48 min = 17.8 hours. The refinements reduced the time to 12h 58 min = 12.97 hours. Reduction factor is therefore 12.97/17.8 = 0.73 = 0.8*0.91. The combined reduction is therefore 27% not 29%.

 

I have decided I am not going to bother with the refinements. It's one thing to lose reg crops but I don't like gambling event crops away Like I said previously I am using both 2x2 and 1x1 at the same time to see if that helps evening out crops and drops. Should know if this theory works in a day or so Theories usually sound good in my head but they don't always work out

 

I will use 2x2 during the day to maximize my seeds and 1x1 at night to maximize my drops. Like sglick said, I woke up to 5 new seeds this morning. Still have 2 sections to open.

 

So far, I have gotten 15 free eggs by planting all my crops. The time for them to be replaced varies so I just keep checking and when another bunch of 5 arrives I plant them. Now, I am gone to have uneven fields which drives me crazy, but I think is is worth a little crazyness for free eggs.

I am totally amazed that some have all theirs field open. Good for you!!!

Hmm, you are correct.
I made the same check with crop square with the early bloomer refinements and after that with the addition of the water love refinements.
Your way of calculating was spot on in both tests.

 

I tried to do a quote of Peeps post with no success. It was about it taking 5 hours for the system to refresh to give new seeds or rather eggs right now.

I think the system does it every 5 hours for everyone so there is no way to know what part of the 5 hours I am in. This is my logic, since I have gotten some in as little as 20 minutes - twice now. This makes it worth check.

 

Whoa! Thanks to all who did an effort to figure out the time-combo's. I would love to see a post with a full scale overview for the current Event Crop. It's not in the BP Easter Event FAQ but will make it so much easier for all of us to plan ahead .

 

I'm glad we agree xristos-ale3andros I had to test it yesterday to be sure, because some time bonuses of the same type do add (like valentines pot and cheese balls together reduce stable time with 10% + 5% = 15%), but not so with refinements unfortunately.

 

Well I know for a fact that without buffs I won't be able to finish this one as I can't harvest 3 times a day. So I am just going to grow and mill and earn the prizes I can. So far I have accumulated 35 drops . Yep, no way I'm going to manage 40 nests!

 

I currently have 5 areas opened. Busy with work, but my timer is set for each harvest. I tried to refine a few times & didn't get any, so I'm not going to try again until I have all areas opened & more miracle egg plants. Got the egg-chantment giver in a crate I bought with BBs. That should help a bit.

Don't get me wrong, cuz I'm all for milking the BP system for every last seed when they force us to beg, borrow and steal to struggle thru some of these events the way they do lol . I whole heartedly agree, it's worth checking, always. Especially during limited play field events like this, where 5 more seeds will make a huge difference in our progress

 

we are in perfect harmony.

 

I have two fields open up on both farms. I am focusing on crops since I scored a giver for both farms with only a couple of crate purchases. I haven't seen a difference yet in 2x2 vs 1x1 so I am using 2x2 for now.

RL has me busy this weekend - so I am not going to focus to hard on this event. Will see how far I get.
