Easter Festival Strategy Thread

Thank you for your input into the plot size decision. I'm hedging my bets and doing 1/2 of each - just call me indecisive. Anyway, with harvest time down to 3:22, I'll find out soon enough if it works.

 

Currently 12/40 in the event, no refinements yet, but at least they give compensation when you lose all those miracle egg plants, 1x1s are giving me slightly better drops.

 

I was doing a little of that before I had everything open Mindy... milling as many easter nests as I could, then planting as many 1x1s as possible, then finishing off my seeds in 2x2s and occasionally a 1x2, trying to leave no plot unseeded each time. Maybe I'll try mixing it up again now that everything is open .
I might be crazy thinking this (ha... we all know I'm crazy anyway and I have the paperwork to prove it LOL), but seems like the couple times I alternated back n forth between 1x1s then 2x2s I was able to mill more easter nests. I think at the end of a 24 hr period of tho, I didn't mill any more easter nests than I would/could have if I had just stuck with 1 or the other sized plot the entire time lol

This one is beating us hard on strategizing, and I'm not likin' it

Chin up sunshineaz. Refinements can be stubborn but in the end they rarely win, and you'll get the ones you want but it requires a bit of patience. Just keep at it and best of luck!

I did manage to open all fields this afternoon, doing the happy dance for that Milling nests as I go along, on 8/40 thus far but have used a fair amount of crops in the Greenhouse. I've used 1x1 from the start, yes even starter seeds and have gotten plenty of drops.The Greenhouse hasn't been so generous, got 10% off growing time the only thing worth mentioning. Another 16 harvests and I'll be done - unless I find another refinement of course

ooh... just got smacked down, only 17 nests from 144 1x1s just now, with my LL now at 30% .

OK maybe BP CAN be nice (when they wanna)... I just got a snail pen as a reward for donating an easter nest

 

My drops seem to be about the same no matter if I am using 2x2 or 1x1. They range from about 15-18.

When you harvest the field it will drop a basic nest in your barn.
Easyist way to check how many you have is go to the wind mill Click + and then the events tab.

In your barn - they will be found in Other. There is a drop list where you see Crops


I only have two field areas left. Was unable to farm during the day today - same tomorrow. I am just using 2x2 - because I am focusing more on the crops at the moment.

 

Am I bonkers? If I use 2x2....I only get 5 Miracle egg plants per square......but if I use 1x1's....I get 8 Miracle egg plants for the same space. Isn't that 3 more event crops? Plus I generate more drops! At this point I need crops to make those Easter nests!!!

 

Yes Brookeham you get 8 seeds but you used 3 more to get those 8, so it still a net of 4 seeds. 1 2x2 gives 5 uses 1 = 4. 4 1x1 gives 8 uses 4 = 4. The only possible difference is the drops! You probably either need some more coffee or a nap.

 

Nope, you are not bonkers Brooke ham but if you used 1x1 you would have to 3 extra seedings for the same amount of space, if makes no difference weather we are using 1x1 or 2x1 or 2x2 the outcome is we gain 5 miracle egg plants

But if we are lucky enough to win +1 on Party Spin or Farm Spin 1x1 fields are the best in this case

No matter which field formats we are using give or take the drops we get are more or less the same

At last got all fields unlocked. Not bothered with refinements so far. The next Target is Cloud Row, still just over days of this event remaining

 

Doesn't work on the event field. For the same reason I don't think the LL rune works either. We are really all int the same boat.

 

Yes, opened all fields. That was my priority. Confession....bought the 30 crates and got a good mixture of basic nests, crops, 2 Easter nests and 2 basic nest givers. That was a big help. Tried the small refinery few times and got the 20% EB. Had to stop playing with that because run out of the crops. Thanks to puppiesnponies input my crop's amount much better. And she right because it is no difference in-between the 2x2 or 1x1 plot regarding the drops. Still get 18-20 drops from both size plots. I try to harvest 3-4 times a day. Thanks! I know my drops are not too bad and pretty sure I will be able to finish but many players have different situation and this Easter event shouldn't be stressful because of the drops and limited field size. I am missing my CAC!!!!!!

 

The LL has never worked in my game ...my drops are the same as when I hadn't completed it ..in fact they are worse
I'd sooner have the 600 pandas back that I donated to finish LL

 

You have to consider not only the numbers but the size of the field area.

For 2x2 plots, you plant 1 seed and get 5 in return. That is 5-1 = 4 new seeds
For 1x1 = you plant 1 and get 2 in return. That is 2-1=1 new seed

2x2 plot consist of four 1x1 plots. So if you convert 2x2 plots to 1x1 you plant 4 seeds in four 1x1 plots and get 8 seeds. 8-4= 4 new seeds. Therefore 2x2 and 1x1 gives you the same amount of crops ( when you are not using CAC)

Sailing in the same boat as you are Mooboy. Finished unlocking all the plots. Using 2x2 plots and feel that there is not much difference in drops between 2x2 & 1x1 so far. May be someone who unlocked the entire area and uses 1x1 plots can tell us the amount. +1 crop bonus doesn't apply to theis special field. I won one & found it did not increase the event crops in this area. Not tried my hand in refinement. Don't want to waste seeds right now. May be when i am in safe side of the event progress, I might try to see the quality of compensation reward. That is if I get stars, FC or GBs when the refinement is not working out.

Basic nest is the drop item of this event and you get it while harvesting your event plants. You cannot make it. It is the Easter Nest which requires milling.

 

I can't see a post where someone has helped you, your best option is to apply for a 'Mentor' at the farmhouse.

We were warned. It was labelled Hard.

So those that don't have the time to put it, have Event-free time. A thing I think a lot of players have asked for. I haven't, I get bored without an event. So I though this would be a win-win really, those that doesn't want to do hard events don't have to, and those that love events have a proper challenge on our hands. After all, there is an MM later today, and who knows for April's fool tomorrow. In my (naive) eyes I though BP offered up something for all players this Easter.

I haven't bought an event-thing and I don't plan to either. I think I will finish just fine without it. Reading all the steam and angry postings about the event makes me even more determine to finish without buying anything. Sometime I do wonder what people except from an event rated Hard. And since this is on an event fields where all "normal" buffs and tweaks are turned off, even the fresh farmer have an equal opportunity to complete and earn a CR.

 

I have all fields open and I concur that there is little difference between 2x2 plots and 1x1 plots, I got 19 and 18 drops respectively so I am sticking with 2x2s.

I definitely wouldn't make it if I was still working. Now I can juggle RL more to fit in with event requirements but I refuse to get up in the night to harvest, miss family events or use RM. It would only make the game stressful if I did - or should that be more stressful!

I have tried to do the maths and work out how many harvests I can do and, with the current drop rate, I will miss the CR. Please, this is not a cry for help, just stating my case. I'll get over it!
If I get within spitting distance of finishing, I will post in the SOS thread but for now I am just coasting it!

I changed to 2x2 yesterday...its less clicking and less manure ...Have another 6 fields to open
A little bit behind because we had all the family around for dinner and an easter egg hunt for the children was lovely to see them with their little baskets looking for them

Saw that we are going to have butterfly breeding ...as yet haven't found these in the breeding house

 

I am on of those farmers, using same method as Moraine Doing a Challenge on an event without spending BB or ££ on Baskets or Crates. I am not doing refinements either, why my currant goal is getting CR, Fingers Cross get some extra prizes

I am happy to do events saves me getting bored with normal farming. Yeah MM is about to start, So I can finish off unlocking the last Mushroom Forest Area

Event Difficulty is set as Complex I wonder that means very hard or extremely hard not just hard as we not had an event defined higher than hard, please correct me if I am wrong

On the positive side we can restocking our barns,stock up on Butterflies,or try out the new Recipe Buffs that gives +3 Grain,+3 others +3 flowers or +3 Veggies we now have a new dilemma to assign new buffs instead of CAC

For the First time I am going to be using Vampire Serum that gives +2 MM Crops, give my CAC stocks a Break but they only last 5 hours each it a new window to try something new to be a Buff master
