A Frodo picture update for all who have been following (thanks Lilac for letting me host yet again).

I haven't been able to weigh him as the babies are in the paddock with the scales but even by looking at him I can see weight continues to go on :)
I'm very nearly at the stage that I'm not embarrassed for anyone to see him. :) Happy Dance.

You know that you are always welcome any time. I agree with Sanddollar that Frodo is looking great and I am so pleased that he is continuing to put on weight. The change in him since you first had him is remarkable!

There are times that life is scary.. Do we take on the fight or bury our heads?
I am a little distracted at the moment as I am taking the "bull by the horns" but the outcome is very scary.
I have been alerted that someone has launched a reindeer booking site on FB and the Web, they are using genuine reindeer owners photos and taking bookings despite not owning any reindeer and they have been bailed on child sex abuse and trafficking, they own fairground rides but not reindeer... as yet
I have rated their fb page 1* but only dared say usage of other peoples photos.
Repercussions are scary but I think my herd are well hidden. :(

Outside of being disgusting it is VERY scary to think that someone is out there doing such things! I hope that your herd stays protected from such evil!

Karen, I know I'm in the US not the UK but would you be able to contact the local police near their fairgrounds? Make the police aware that even thou they do not own any reindeer they are taking bookings for same. Unless they have a written contract with actual reindeer owners to provide animals, there is a strong possibility of fraud. As it sounds like the police have had previous knowledge & contact with these individuals maybe a heads up for the police could avert some criminal activity. Facebook is limited on what it can do & you really don't want to identify yourself to these individuals, but the police could make inquiries from their public info and you would not need to be involved. Good luck & keep safe.

There are so many "low life" out there. I hope that your herd stays safe. Do you have a local PC you could speak to and make them aware of what is going on.

Karen - I hope you, your family and your Reindeer stay safe. I am so sorry for the fear you must be feeling by such a hideous thing that is happening to innocent children and Reindeer. Please use all available resources to stay protected!

    What do you think?
A friend that is much more "Arty" than I am has made Elsa and Gandalf's antler into herb sickles. Not quite ready yet as she says she needs to do some leather work too but here's the teaser...

Boris lost his second antler today and I saw it happen...
The two minutes leading up to it dropping where very scary as he was walking oddly, head and neck skewing round in very odd ways. I thought he had an inner ear infection... but no, his antler popped off.
Little so and so within seconds raised on his rear legs and pummelled any of the girls that were close! :)

An interesting tid-bit of what to make with antlers or in this story Bull horns. My Grandparents had a dairy farm. One of my Grandfather's relatives made a small chair out of Bull horns - about 10 sets of horns. 4 sets for the legs of the chair. 2 sets for the arm rest and 2 - 4 sets for the back of the chair. Since Bull horns are not very high. This was a child's chair only; although, we were always forbidden to sit in it. My mom got the chair so it was in out living room all the time while I was growing up. My mom gave it to my Nephew since he was the 1st of her grandchildren to have a child so I have not seen it in many years. Unfortunately, no photos.

I like the cycles that she made with the antler's Very cool!

I agree with Brook. It looks painful. Poor Boris.

Poor Boris, without his antlers he has to find another way to keep the girls in check:)
