Butterfly Garden Strategy

Yup - I have been buying those shiny things up since forever, before the rumours started. I figured that one day they would be useful. I meant to leave myself enough to do the FSQ too ... think I may just scrape by!

Don't think I ever put my Perfumeries out - the price of the Butterflies was just not worth it!

Now if somebody wants to buy my 100 shiny things, I can finish off a few more FSQs!

 

@sglick... BBD starts at 9am PST, tomorrow... Friday. You aren't that far from me, but I know AZ does their own time zone thing lol. I always get crossed up with the different time zones. Here's a time conversion link I use, hopefully it will help you too

Illy... since B'fly breeding went live today the Perfumeries now just take 2 Butterflies and a Butterfly feed. Not quite so painful to produce! (Well, actually all products are painful to produce... but at least this one has improved lol)

 

Hmmm...now not sure what to do. I listed 600 of my 1600 butterflies yesterday morning before realizing how many we would need for the event, and while I made a tidy sum, I only have 1087 left . I never even worried about it because, really, when has 1000 not been enough? So I am torn over whether to even start, if I won't have enough to finish. I agree with the general feeling that the reward pens are less than stellar; we usually get reds for breeding events. I'll probably go ahead and do the side bars (shimmery powders are no problem for me, as have been buying them off and on for a while, so had a few hundred, plus bought some more when 12ss12 warned us), and try to at least make it to level 12 for the robin mystery stables. For now, all 3 fields are aflutter, and will just see how it goes as it goes. The one thing I'm keeping in mind is that events rarely end up being as dire as we sometimes think they will be, so keeping paws crossed. And thanks for the reminders about the runes, illy and Peeps! I don't usually bother, but this might be a good event to use them. Now I'm off to the market on mini me; since there's no chance to finish there, think I'll make a few CCs...

at BBD we are always getting a few basic animals back and the twin function will save you lots of basic butterflies too..
I have my butterfly pens out and will leave them out until BBD is over, so that I know, I will have enough

Thank you Moraine, but after 8 year ( -1) of farming, I pretty confident that I will never figure out Europe's times so I will always be asking. It is hard enough to keep the US time zones straight since AZ is a rebellious State by refusing to change our time zones. Moving the time 1 hour this way or that is not gone make a big difference with the Sun. It's still gone to be HOT. HaHaHa

For clarification, your saying in about an hour. Yea! That gives me time to go grocery shopping so I can spend the rest of the day breeding.

I don't really see much reason to post "total" numbers of basic animals and PF for breeding events. As we know the numbers aren't remotely close to what we'll actually need. And even with the disclaimer the numbers seem to cause slight distress... Maybe if you want to compare different breeding events the numbers can be used, but not as a guide to event requirements.

I'll do the event since I want the cloud row. 1 breeding animal a day is not bad, even if it is only level one. I would have wished for more colored, one orange stable and yellow workshop is disappointing Any thoughts on doing the sidebars? Haven't decided yet.

 

Well, I bred early without the BBD. Skips with my ToW option are atrocious! Not doing the last three steps. Not even with the reduced requirements.

 

Will be going for the rather nice cloud row and very glad to see the updated FSQ with requirement reductions. Still debating the side bars, though I have more than enough shimmery powder; mainly because I dislike donating large amounts of products I could sell.

Hoping for good skips to appear for us this time!

 

I don't like the look of it either...the dome is funky, but it still makes 3 Butterflies and some manure out of 1 Butterfly food. If I make one or get one down the road, it will go in a Menagerie... I won't have to look at it

 

This is what I thought as well the basic numbers are always high and scary and the reality is always much less.

I don't like the sidebars as far as what you give up to what you get. I can do better selling off the powder and butterflies for CC's than those prizes.

Count me in on the disappointment on only getting a yellow and orange upgrade. Main reason I do the breeding events are to get the upgraded workshops and stables.

 

Thanks for the feedback! I included no less as 3 disclamers in the original post as well as mentioning it in follow ups. I think such should be enough to get the message of just providing some info and not being a factual guide.
Hope I'll remember your worries about giving totals next time..

 

I noticed habalala but you still see people reacting to the high numbers. Anyway it is just my opinion.

 

@Noelle20001 ... How many PFs did you have to use, and did you get all the way thru step 9? Just curious, was kinda hoping to use your results as a guesstimate of how far my small hoard of Butterflies might get me during the BBD.
I am kicking myself for not growing more

 

Still harvesting my 7 pens of butterflies and one perfumery. Would love to see progress from others. Will wait until BB to see how far my little tiny hoard of butterflies does.

 

Buy 3 fields full and fill your Menageries @littletinybit ... the Butterfly Houses will pay for themselves in one harvest if you sell some right away.
