New Baby reindeer to my herd

I think the tee-shirt is a great idea! Tell Frodo to keep his "feet" to himself. Hope you heal quickly before hubby has to start explaining things!

 

The boy's antlers are coming on well.
Frodo (not looking remorseful enough!) His top 4 points seem to be thickening - I'm wondering if they will split again.

Boris's antlers are starting to look great. I hope that Frodo has apologised to you!

 

Lilac.. Boris' antlers will grow longer than the 2 entire boys as he won't have the hormone "cut off" that they do.. His are short but stocky so should look great eventually and the good news, so far he has no antler warts which he has been plagued with the last two years. So no tying off with rubber bands... but there is still time for them to develop... Look out for little peas on lower brow tine.

 

They do have nice racks... Why is Boris the only one plagued with warts? Is it a castrate thing or is he the only one playing in the frog pond?

Antler warts tend to be a castrate problem although nobody knows quite why. There are thoughts that it is the pamplona but why castrates get the issue nobody seems to know.. One of the many unexplained issues in reindeer.

Temperatures rising in UK...
Who said my reindeer are spoilt .. Built a paddling pool this morning (and they still haven't killed it - I might run a sweep on how long it will last!)
Pic is baby Tigga (very pleased with her rack for a yearling female) still loads of coat to loose though.

AND apple and lichen "popsicles" freezing down for tomorrow.

 

They all deserve to be spoilt! Tigga is probably wondering what that big blue thing is and what is she supposed to do with it. Wait until Boris gets to it, probably won't last long then! I bet they will enjoy their popsicles.

 

Yay a pool!! Don't forget the beach ball! lol And then yummy popsicles too! What fun those lucky reindeer!

I haven't shared the "Pool Party" video, as to be honest it was a little slow, with gentle paddling and the odd pawing at water but thought this photo was fun.

It does seem that Herman has taken it over rather.

Oh he's being a crocodile/pyrannah or whatever.. He's in there most of the time and glares at anyone else who wants to come in. The tarp has been blowing about, even over his back & he just stands there... Pretty bombproof when he wants to be.

 

LOl. Does he lay down in the water? What about the older reindeer do they go in the pool?

 

Nobody lays in it they just stand there, sometimes pawing at water but mainly just looking gormless!
Frodo has started hogging it today too (if you look at his upper antler tines, they look as if they'll split again, they are thickening and have two shiny patches on each. Wow he might look pretty impressive )

Herman let Fergie join him in the pool today.

And it seems to be only Katya and Ria that like my apple and lichen "Popsicles". The rest of the herd ignore them but these two rake their little incissor teeth (bottom jaw only) across the treat.
