Hooked on Fishing 2018 Strategy Thread

First I must apologize to neighbors and friends I usually gift to. I have been so sick since last Monday or so This is the first time I have been on my comp for anything. So I haven't even started this event I do have all my star coins from the Farmcup so I'll see how that plays out. Good luck to all

 

im sorry to hear you were sick Julie. Hope you are feeling a lot better now and just a reminder we are going to be needing a lot of farm coins soon so I have been using all my star coins to buy all the farm coins I can since in the soccer shop week 1 you can buy farm coins over and over again im really building up my farm coin stock

 

Argh! With the closure of the Farmcup event shop, catching 'good' fish is less rewarding for those who succesfully participated in all previous fish events. The Star Coin rewards became near useless as there are many other ways in the game to gain the amount of EP/TEP/CC given out at conversion.

So, I changed tactics. Instead of aiming for the best possible catches (possibly rewarding the most SC), I now aim for cachting the most mackerel and lobsters as those have the better possible usefull rewards for my farm as I have no need for more oldie wonder thinggies as well.

But .. so far I failed .. no matter how much I try to be way off the perfect circle, I keep catching 'good' fish. HELP! Anyone knows a perfect spot for catching mackerel? Do share!!

Caught fish for every day of the year and am hoarding in case I wish 2 for dinner. Fish Caught Count is at 397.

 

Aim for the outside edge or make the cheap Fishing Lure. You'd catch Mackerel or the crawdaddy every time.

 

Banjoman, I have used only cheap lures and have been aiming for the lower fishes most of the way through, as I also have wanted mostly the rewards from the lower fish, so trying for outside circles, and at 279 games I've got well over 100 Marlin, so I'd have to argue with your logic

 

i click when there is no green in the circle at all it helps ive caught quite a few of the very cheap fishies lol

You all make me laugh! Easily finished this several days ago on all 3 farms, just enjoying the fishing now, glad to stock up on SG and Suzee's.

 

I stopped aiming for the lower fish as I don't need anymore pheromones or deluxe pheromones.

 

I am telling myself I need to finish an event but I always make the same mistakes... I didn't check the FAQ or the strategy here so I just made Deluxe lures because I believed it was like the last time I had participated in this event.
I have played 18 games and I have won great prizes but I am not near of finishing the event.
Though I did my calculations and it turns out I can complete the event if I get 96 Lure Feathers and by making normal lures. Do you think I have time to get them?

Pull up all trees and plots, put down all manufactories and menageries and anything critter related. Even Cows are giving feathers. just not as many as donkeys or beavers. Do the same to BAHA. You can get as many gifts as 20 each day. Good luck!

Arielh - make sure to use lots of the shorter timed animal pens after you have harvested the longer stalls and workshops, unless you are planning on using PF, as the event gets closer to the end. I have a neighbor who will manage to get the last needed feathers and discs to complete the CR on their next harvest doing this, after calculating from their last harvest. They have under 12 hour orange pens/ workshops up in monkeys, ducks, doves, ladder factory, mole, and mouse along with a few pink rabbits. XXL trees were turbo mulched to shorten their time. Hope you succeed!

 

I used the majority of my surplus star coins helping my Mom get missing givers for the older rows on her farms.

However, I still have 96 star coins on this farm and 71 on 2nd farm. If there is someone who needs a giver for an incomplete row, please let me know before the event ends.

 

Neighbor reports the CR is his with six hours to go! Those still at work, persevere!

Willow I used some PF to the pens that exceeded the time but fortunately I got them all back from the fishing rewards.
I still haven't harvested all my pens so I will have a surplus of drops. I guess I will fish some more just for fun

I only played more event mini games during the old version of the monkey queen carnival.
Happy with the extra supply of goodies it provided but annoyed about recieving event Star Coins and the lack of useful items in the Angler Shop to spend them on.
