Big fan of event crops of different length. :)

But why punish those that choose short crops with higher requirements (after adjusted for time of course)? Not fair -.-

Works out fine for me, since I would have taken the longest crop anyway. But still, not fair :(

Not a fan of these genies (or whatever they are) making it VERY difficult to get to a 1x1 field where they populate :(

They can be a pest when planting or harvesting by hand. The characters can be turned off and on. From the FAQ...

If you want to turn off the Spawning Characters, uncheck the check mark. You can turn them on again, at any time.

I personally like events with little rewards for each step (here the feeding of the djin).
Why do we have to grow 5 times the 3h crop in comparison to the 9h crop? This is really unfair.
Just hope, that the droprat is with us.
All in all for the moment it looks good.
We will see how it goes ;)

    Edit:
I had set out camels on two fields.. and what happened?

2 lamps from a field of camels... that's it...
Without neighbours gifted lanterns I wouldn't have the bear fed even once.
    The lantern drop is ridicoulous!!!
.. makes me really angry, as the success of an event shouldn't depend on the generosity of neighbours and friends.

    So for this: THUMBS DOWN

Game Team, please do the math on event requierements prior to it going live.

    Djinn Bear

7 days, 42 tasks, 6 drops per task = 6 tasks/36 drops per day needed.

Actual drop rate, after 2 days, using approx 400 items of +16hr trees/stalls/workshops is set at 6 drops per day. If a player is lucky.

Not all and every event should be easy to complete but all events should be possible to complete with some effort (without excessive use of farm goodies like PF,SG and the such).

IMHO the set up for this event is another epic fail which could've been prevented easily.

Unless they don't want to prevent it :sleepy: I find it difficult to come to any other conclusion :(

This is a fun and entertaining event, good graphics, choice of event crop grow times is great, and the drop rate for the needles is fantastic. However, why even have the progress bar for the Djinn if it's not even close to attainable? It's like the dice event where there were 100 levels and most people were lucky to get to 50. I think a lot of people did not read that you have to have stables and trees to get lanterns, but even so, approximately half of my available real estate is in trees or pens and while I'm getting a better lamp rate than many, it's still not possible to have the rate listed by habalala. If the Djinn is supposed to be "extra treats" then there should not be a progress bar. Having the progress bar makes it seem like we "should" be able to complete. I like the idea of one set of event tasks, and another "extra treats" that happen without making a specific effort - but having the progress bar with the unattainable goal took this from a super fun and happy event, to yet another really frustrating effort. I appreciate that the game team is listening to us, but for every positive they come up with, there is yet another negative that feels like a drive to make us spend real money.

I'm also not happy about the drop rate for the lamps. I've just harvested a whole field of stables and trees, left to grow overnight. No drops at all.
Because they only drop on stables, workshops and trees, there are not so many buffs which can help with reducing growing time. By my rough estimations, we could grow only stuff that drops lamps, feed everything with PF and SSG, and STILL not get enough drops to get the factory upgrades. This is really a very bad event, I hope it's sorted out.

a full field of trees gave just 1 lamp.......
annoying, frustrating, and really showing the game BP is playing. Buy baskets or factory updates for real money/barnyard bills!
I leave the djin bear aside and just do the carpet milling. 20 carpets to go...
trees are replaced with fields for crops. Stalls will be exchanged as soon as they are harvested.
Djin bear will not be fed any more and can die from starvation!

I like how some say these events are great and drop rates are fantastic- NOT. I have plenty of the 9 hour crops to mill and no needles- drop rate as usual is dismal. The lamps are very scare- like only when gifted from good neighbors and certainly not the game. Too bad I have only a few active neighbors. keep getting requests but they do not gift so lamps are not many- did get some from the carpet guys which helps some but all in all this "medium difficulty" event is NO fun as usual lately.

I like the event design, but hate the implementation. The drop rate on lanterns is horrible. I have a total of 10 turn in halfway through the event when 42 are needed to finish. I have completed the cloud row already and am trying to get more lanterns. I got a total of 8 lanterns this morning from 3 fields. This event is really awful and among the worst of events,

I don't think I've seen a single lantern as a drop item AT ALL!!!! Only won from the djins or whatever they are. I'm not even up to the first marker and I'm growing Saguaro Cactus. How much higher EP crops or stables could there possibly be. BigPoint won't learn their greedy lesson until it's too late. Massive stupidity on their part. As usual.

The lanterns come from trees, stables and workshops. You also get them from the Otterdins. If you have high level crops planted you should have plenty of needles to mill the needed carpets so if you switch to the event crops then you should be able to mill some carpets.

I have both event crops and trees/stables/workshops and I get more lanterns from the Otterdins -- I have only received 1 lantern from my trees/stables/workshops.

    Hope this helps.

I have all Baha lands available and most of those have trees on with some stalls and VERYMINIMALcrops ( 17 plots of 2*2 ) and I still don't bask in lanterns. Also I have a full Legend. My lantern count is, altogether, 38 .
But I take it as an extra while I'm doing regular, non event farm play, so it's ok.

I liked the look of this event, particularly the fact that we could choose the plant timing though I do agree that the weighting for the quicker crops could be a bit fairer. I also like the smaller prizes along the way. I have finished this part and my CR is up and running. :inlove:

I wasn't very concerned about the genie part, I can organise my farming to suit my other commitments these days but despite getting tons of lamps as gifts, winning a fair few as prizes with feeding all the little dudes (who were a little shy at times!) and genies, I am only halfway to finishing. I don't need to finish, I don't need more EP givers but the Factory upgrades would have been nice. :(

Why did the genies have to be a "rare" drop item and/or why did we need so many? If they were very rare, make it hard to get 42 over an event, not impossible to get 252!

I had a whole field filled with trees and I got three lamps! -.-
It's a shame that this event gave me two different reactions cos in theory it was a nice event. :music:
