Belle is beautiful! I adore that white blaze on her sweet face!:music: I'm so glad she's not a unicorn anymore.:p

Great picture of the beautiful Belle. She looks as though she is thinking "why is she staring at me like that, I'm trying my hardest with my second antler"

And here was I blaming Boris for the chaos in the hay barn.. Somebody had broken in to steal lichen. Everything had been knocked over, it was in chaos when I arrived for afternoon feed. Boris was hanging about and I thought he looked pretty guilty.... Until Katya turned up wearing the Headdress of Shame!!!

I tried untangling - just wasn't happening, I had to cut it off as the loops were wedged deep into antlers, particularly on lower tines..
Who me, I wasn't in the hay barn, Boris threw this at me!!!! ;)
As you can see she can still eat even with it wrapped completely around her head.

Too funny!!! Katya was caught wearing the naughty hat!!!! o_O:pxDxDxD

Karen - Your herd of reindeer could have their very own T.V. show:D ...they are so funny and full of personality!:music:

My take - Boris was "hanging about" admiring the antics of his star student. xD Katya has obviously paid close attention to his lessons! Very glad she was relieved of her headgear without damage.
I agree with Brooke - a reindeer reality show would be a hit!:)

I really must discourage Fergie from taking a quick shortcut to the feeders between my legs or I'll be riding her as she gets bigger. AND those antlers will get pointy soon! :)

Could be a new sport, reindeer riding! Not so sure about those pointy antlers though, could be painful:wuerg:

Nothing serious yet BUT Frodo has started his strip today.. So my peaceful days are numbered... Most jobs done for his segregated hareem paddock but have left till last moment scrubbing trough (as weather still warm), worming (as his faecal counts have been very low), vitamin drenching but will have to do him and any girls going in his paddock once he seriously strips. Oh joy, peace is swiftly flying away BUT it says the start of the next cycle of Spring and the pitter patter of lots of reindeer babies...
Gandalf will be having most of the girls as my spotty nosed will be running with him. As yet Gandalf isn't showing any signs of stripping.
PS can't wait to post my 365 day photo of owning Frodo, as I think this year he will be all male, healthy, chunky, good coat/antlers and be well on plan for the rut... :) So different from last year. :)

Bless his heart, you have worked wonders with him you must be very proud. Can't wait till next year to see how many babies there are.

Frodo has been very busy overnight.
Lovely clean antlers today and before he gets grumpy, he has had a manicure, worming injections and vitamin drench. So too have Twiglet and Lotte - the first two girls that will be joining his hareem. :)

OMG! I can't believe how Frodo got those antlers so clean over night! I think the "antler pixies" came in over night to help him!;)
He is showing the girls he means business this year!:inlove:xD

Tonight I sobbed my socks off.
I thought I had brought Frodo back from the edge but not to this extent..
This lady I have been helping "virtually" for many months. She inherited a few reindeer from her father in law. She said they were in poor condition BUT she never shared photos, I answered all questions, gave feeding/ worming/ supplement advise... Today she finally shared a photo of what she was dealing with and how he is today.. OMG Kudos to her, he still has a way to go but to be honest I would have thought euthanasia would have been the kindest route!!!.. So many reindeer are not understood... they just cannot be treated as usual livestock... Okay that sounds prissy but their feed requirements health issues etc need extra care... This reindeer was copper deficient,

He is looking a lot better now, still a way to go but wow such a change.

I can not believe that some people have animals and do not know how to look after them properly. He is definitely looking a lot better now and I hope that he continues to improve. I can just imagine how upset you must have been when you saw that first photo.
