New runes in the Tree of Wisdom

I know the Tree of Wisdom update has been introduced in April but only now I found out about it.
So I was wondering what you think about the new runes, which are worth going for.
I have 390 stars and I can't wait to spend them, but I am trying to be careful and because I haven't been around for sometime I need to make sure that I wasn't keeping these stars for something more important.

wow these last runes are amazing! More EP from lands! I have never notice them before.

I can now buy 250 seeds from the store and when I get more stars I will unlock the last part of the rune. I am going after stars again, it feels weird but good that I have something to aim for!

Get a Howie Donut as soon as the Greatest of All Mini Events runs.

 

Howie would be my down there with the arboretum for me on my wish list. Do not understand the hype.

I'd go goat milk tree.

 

I have to admit I am rather disappointed with the water and manure runes.
I would expect something more radical, increasing water and manure efficiency for example.
Runes that would actually help producers.
The new runes seem mainly focused on EP.
The trees are ok as long as they don't distract new players from climbing up the branches, towards the living legend rune.

 

I agree, I must of missed something, doenst it only give a 5% chance of more drops? In my book 5% is not much, now if we could have say have 10 of these, then yes, but just one, I dont see the hype either, and the prices they want during gift and trade is crazy or should I say what they want to trade for one. If I could have multiple of these for reasonable trades I might be more excited over this, I most likely will get this, if I have enough stars, if for no other reason to hold on too for gift and trade and hope to get something I really really want, or see if the trades become more reasonable now that everyone has a shot at one.

 

Hi sebe The rune doesn't give you a howie donut. It works like the living legend rune, except for a howie instead of the trophies. It lets you place a howie donut in the tree of wisdom. That howie donut will then work always on all fields (moonlight fields also?). Normally it only works on the field where it is placed. You can only place one howie there though.

 

that will be a good new to me as I had a howie, always need to spare a plot for them and remember
to put it on when event held is quite a pressure.
Many time click the harvester before I remember to put out my howie!

 

Thanks for letting me know this, I have none. Good thing to know before I spent the stars. I was not around when they were offered, and when they are offered during the gift and trades they are crazy so I have not traded for one. Thanks again. I only glanced over the new runes, I need to closely look over them before I decide what to spend my stars on as I have some saved up.

 

A rotten time to not have a Howie Donut... They will be asking for an astronomical amount (rare items) in the next G&T

 

I imagine they will offer a Howie again at some point. Maybe at Renzo, the coin shop, or an event reward. There are many young farmers who never had a Howie.
I'm like you, I no longer have a Howie because I never noticed a difference in event drops so I traded for something that provided better rewards for me. I wander what that was? lol

 

How was the Howie available, and when? I've been around for ages (since 2010) but never snagged one - perhaps I never saw the importance of it, or else I was absent from the game at the time, but I certainly feel like I'm missing out now! They are hot property at G&T.

I like the increase in capacity of water and manure. For me, I can never have too much, so being able to hold more water and stock up more on manure (ie. be able to wait longer for the prices in the market to rise) is very helpful, although I would appreciate down the track a rune that further increases the efficiency of these.

Not super stoked with the new tree runes (magic tree, pheromone tree), but only because I already have both. I do realise it is harder for newer players to get them so I guess I'm talking from a position of privilege!

 

It used to be that when you bought 300 BB or more you would get one of the farmstreet boys. There was a 3% chance that it would be the howie donut. That was stopped in 2015. After that howie was available as a one time prize from renzo's for a short while.

 

I remember these turtles but I didn't know back then that the Howie Donut was so important.
But now that the Howie donut can be placed in the tree of wisdom will players still need to own more than one? Because if not they will need to trade the rest.

 

Placing one howie in the tree of wisdom just gives you +5% drop chance on all fields. 5% doesn't make a big difference. Personally I don't think those that have many howies will be inclined to trade theirs away because of this rune, with 10+ howies you see a big difference in drops, and it can help you a lot. There might be some with two or three howies that place one of them in the tree of wisdom and then trade away the remaining.

That is just what I would do, might very well be that many act differently.

 

@Arielh I have 4 Howies (thanks to my very generous mentor) & they do help with drops. Instead of moving 4 Howies from field to field when harvesting, now I only have to move 3. Am hoping that in the future BP will open additional levels to Howie rune & I'll only have to move 2, 1 or maybe even NONE! So don't expect to see many Howies available for trade.

 

The concept of placing the Howie in the tree of wisdom is not so much to enhance the drop rates during events.
It is more oriented to increase the possibility, on a permanent basis, of finding tools and artesian items during normal farming activities.
In addition, since the effect is overall, it will also apply for the full moon fields and the special event area.

Nevertheless, first goal for anyone should be to max out the living legend (I) to 30%.
That is where the large difference is made + it requires less stars.

I would be rather surprised to see more Howies being traded in the next G&T.
I expect the opposite.
