Pleased to hear that Bruno is where he is supposed to be. I bet Boris gave him a good talking to about misbehaving! Things often happen in threes, so maybe Mischa will prove that theory!

It sounds like Bruno is going to go where ever he wants to go! Who knows where his next adventure will take him!xD
Fingers crossed he will not injure himself whit his antics!:p

Good news that Bruno stayed in the right pen! I also hope Mischa proves your theory correct!!!!!

Bruno is such a character! That would have been a great trick to catch on video. :)

Oh sorry folks at this time of year it's hard to find a new story that may interest people...
As we are into "Rutting Season" my herd are now divided into three separate paddocks, only one is "safe" for me to mingle with - Boris the castrate, who is babysitting. Boris has this years babies & 2 potential girls that may be joining rutting paddocks in the next couple of weeks. The rutting paddocks (Frodo's & Gandalf's) with their individual harems are not safe to enter and I can only shoot feed into their paddocks - I cannot wander among them for photos etc.. everything takes tactics (ie Mischa was lame last week and I had to hover beside gate for hours until I could safely remove to check her out. Pleased to report nothing found - bulls chase girls beyond, so just a strain - she's sound now).
I do have an update but pictures aren't great as I can't enter rutting paddocks safely...

Elsa has almost finished stripping her velvet and Twiglet has just started too... [IMG]:)
That means anytime soon, Mischa (who stripped last week), Elsa and Twiglet should have a little "passenger" on board.... It makes the stress of the boys going into Rut worthwhile... Only 7 1/2 months to the pitter patter of the first sets of baby reindeer hooves.... and it could be up to 36 tiny hooves this year. [IMG]:) This year I am expecting several spotty noses/or blazes - we'll see.
I'll try not to get too broody until March!
March I'll be on belly kick watch and then April will be udder watch - you'll all be bored to tears! [IMG]:)

It's a wonder they don't get tangled up while they are eating.

Thanks Karen for taking time from your busy life to give us an up-date! As everyone has said we do not get bored and pictures are not always necessary! Safety first, pictures when possible!;) Glad the girls are doing their "velvet stripping" thing and the boys are ready to do their part, and hopefully next Spring there will be all kinds of healthy, cute baby reindeer for us all to gush over!:inlove:

My update was just going to be that Elsa has stripped out her brow tine today and it is a scary corkscrew type thing and with her personality I may remove it after the rut (once velvet stripped it's not an issue just like trimming toenails)...

I posted "elsewhere" (their F/B page) and Elaine, who gave me Elsa (as she was a handful) but had Storm in return, posted a picture of Elsa's son Storm saying how much they look alike..

Forget antlers, but hubby and I have always said they are peas from the same pod... Not markings but their stance expression etc.. What do you think? Before this two I have never seen such resemblance between mother and offspring.

First two photo's Elsa's antler strip. 3rd Elaine showing how much Storm looks like her..

It's the nostrils and the eyes I think?

I think its the ears also. They seem to stick strait out to the side. LOL!

Yes Elsa and Storm do look alike! Fortunately for Elaine, Storm didn't get her personality. o_O:music::pxDxDxD

Not too sure about that yet... he is a little more of a challenge to Elaine than some of the others she has had from me..:) Freddy and Thor are cuddles bunnies, Loki is a mischievous pain in the backside but Storm may have the attitude of his mother... Time will tell...

Yes lottidah, the ears, too. He may have a sweeter disposition, but that is a wary stare that could only come from Elsa. xD

Thought you may like a video of Frodo. He's definitely showing the signs of a rutting bull this year even though he's still being a gentleman at the fence line with me. :)
I think it is actually Mischa in the neighbouring paddock that has got him wound up as Gandalf is rounding her up constantly - I think it's her in season not Tigga.

Nice video, thanks! Frodo is NOT that poor, pathetic little reindeer from last year! He is just beautiful!:inlove: Makes you want to shout it from the roof tops "Look what can be done with proper food, vitamins, and love and caring!":inlove:

Frodo is certainly a magnificent looking gentleman now. As Sanddollar said it is amazing what can be done with the right food etc. Also all the TLC you give all your herd. Storm does look like his mum, I hope for Elaine's sake that he doesn't take after her too much!
