Lexi is a beauty!!!! Always has been! Good to hear Herman(the monster) is back to his old self!

 

Boris' naughty step is a mountain! He has been taunting Frodo (rutting bull) today, just for the heck of it! If that fence comes down, it will be taken out of Boris' pocket money!

 

What a bad lad Boris is! I hope the fence doesn't come down for your sake, Frodo on the loose during rutting season sounds quite scary!

 

Boris must be bored or something if he is harassing poor Frodo, he has enough to worry about keeping his harem in line!
I also hope that fence holds, it did look quite sturdy!

 

Dear Boris has had lots of practice winding up the resident stud!! And chasing Frodo to do it some more.

 

As Boris's antlers haven't hardened yet any physical confrontation with Frodo would be very unpleasant. I bet the girls have complained to Boris about not getting at the food & water troughs, and he's just trying to help them out. He's just trying to keep Frodo distracted, while you give them some feed.

 

I just love that Boris knows how to press Frodo's buttons without actually getting close enough for a fight.

Katya finished stripping today but I only have photo of her start yesterday.

and Lexi started today.

 

Boris certainly knows how to wind Frodo up, you have got to love him!

 

Katya with all that hanging velvet, looks like moss growing from her antlers! Looks like Boris has come up with a way to keep himself amused while baby sitting! lol

I think you have told that before, but is she in pain?

 

Arielh, don't worry not in pain at all, it is just part of their (and all deer) natural process of annually shedding velvet. They thrash their antlers in trees at this time of year to get rid of the velvet to expose their fully grown antlers.

For everyone else, or at least most, that remember the pathetic boy Frodo (of last year). He is all bull this year, even in the last couple of weeks his neck is thickening to look like a bull that means business. Although his appetite has decreased due to having a one track mind, his neck continues to thicken. He's grunting and displaying but only attacking fence when Boris or Gandalf get close (not me, thankfully). He will lose weight over the next few weeks but all bulls do during the rut... But look at that neck, I would not want to argue with him this year.

Sorry, I just had to edit this post with the picture of when I purchased him at the beginning of September last year and knowing he could only loose weight over Winter - which he will this year. too... but I laugh and cry as I post. Last year I thought he could only die, this year hey ho nature says you will loose weight BUT you have hit the Rut healthy and you can easily cope with Winter too....
Go Frodo Go - you are all BULL now!

All I can say is if the "ladies" let him be with them last year, well they will be waiting in line this year! Frodo is just nothing
short of amazing! As for him losing weight during rut, if he survived LAST year he should be just fine this year!

 

Lexi definitely wins the Halloween costume contest as the most spookie reindeer!
Frodo and you for bringing him back from the brink..... is absolutely amazing!!!!!
