What do you like about Farmerama?

Reading the posts on the forum, I sometimes wonder why anyone would ever play this game. I'd love to hear some positive posts about what you enjoy about the game.

 

There is always so much to do on the farm that nothing really seems meaningless. That is, we can have our own goals and work towards them, and there are so many things we can aim for. Finishing events, completing quests, building up stock in our barn, unlocking new features etc. You are never simply farming for the sake of it, without working towards achieving something. For me that is a very therapeutic way to play a game. I enjoy working towards things like finishing quests or unlocking more land. I choose not to be an event player for the most part, because I find it too stressful and too time consuming - we all live busy lives. The company that runs the game may be an absolute shambles, greedy for our money and totally lack respect for the players that keep them in a job, but the game itself is - for me - a relaxing way to start and end my day. I also enjoy saving and hoarding money - I like to see that CC balance go up!

 

I like the fact it's a peacefull game. There's not a single feature in it which I can relate to violence.

 

I might have to reply a few times...as I'm sure I will think of more reasons later. For me, it helps me take my mind off my physical ailments, of which I have many. This game has also helped me through some RL struggles amongst my family. It might sound silly to a lot of you....but being able to busy my mind with mundane things of planting crops, feeding animals allows me to re-focus on something pleasant outside of myself or my real world.
When I wake up in the middle of the night with either pain or worry, this game is always here for me. I've also made some dear friends on the forum. We have been writing for years about our lives and experiences. I've even been fortunate to have 3 of these friends come visit me at my home. 2 from my home country and one from Europe. These and many more of the friends I've made in the game have true meaning to me.

 

I love this game and sometimes it does take up too much of my time, but it helps my state of mind and relaxes me. I think we all basically love the game but are only human and inclined to write about our frustrations. Yes, it is complicated but as Squiggle says,there is always something to do and goals to aim for. You can play the game in the most basic of way or try and complete everything. The best thing is the forum - we are just one big family, where we can air our thoughts on the game and put things into perspective. I would never have completed any of the events if it were not for the advice in the strategy thread.

 

Well, I myself never intended to ever play one of these web-based game but my brother introduced me to it. We are from the States (USA) I am still here BUT he has lives in Germany for more than 40 years and we at times have lost touch with each other, sometimes for years at a time. The ease of the net and skype have connected us again. With time and space, between us I felt we needed something in common to do and talk about. Do to the absents of my daughter (pictured to the left in the grove under the tree) I was absorbed in a site called blingee which is an art site he was not really interested in joining my addiction because he had one of his own. FARMERAMA At first I rolled my eyes and said, "REALLY that's what you do with your time? That's your hobby." and I laughed saying, "I'll never get wrapped up in these stilly farming games BUT wanting something for us to do together I checked it out. then ate my words. That was 4-5 years ago and ____ many farms I got hooked so easily. I also got my (at the time) primary school aged g-doe playing the game. We found so many ways to use it as a learning tool it helped with her studies and social skills as well (with supervision of course). The animals are sooooo cute .

So the First thing I LOVE about FARMERAMA is that it brings families together and if used right has an educational element and as habalala point out there is no violence so it's an all age friendly game.
Second thing is there is always something to do so there are so many things you can do with this game. It's totally customizable. Sometimes, in fact, there is way too much to do and like farmerumf said sometime I spend waayyy to much time here on the farm. Squigglegiggle said a lot of my thoughts so I'll just refer to that comment as to save you all from my ramblings. As the wonderful people, I have met and exchanged OWLs (IGM) with can testify to I'm good at rambling and that brings me to a...Third, reason I love Farmerama, all the wonderful people here as Brookeham has testified to.

Of course we all ... well must of us complain about the game because we are human and humans looove to complain about things and BP well they can give us many things to crip about hahaha BUT that does not mean we don't LOVE the game
I know there are more things I can say but I'll let you all go... ... for now I'm sure I have more I could say

Hi, lets see, hmm, what do I love about Farmerama? Well, I guess I would have to say I can play as much or as little as I want too!
I can pick and choose what events or goals that are important to me and my farm and then go after them. I just love,love love my neighbors and friends I have here on Farmerama, from the states (where I am from), and from all around this beautiful world we all live in that just make this game so much more fun! I "Thank You" all for adding to my fun experiences! I do get that we are all human but I try to keep in mind that "Feed Back" is where complaints really belong so that people coming to check out Strategy's and give or get help are not bombarded with negativity.
I hope we all continue to play this game what ever reason we are all drawn here, because each and everyone of you are what make this game more fun for me! You ALL can wake up now! lol
Ok I am editing alreadybut I forgot to mention that the graphics on most of these Events and the Calendars and the Cloud Rows to me is just amazing in the details and the colors so I just love logging in and seeing them!
