The prospect of impending fatherhood has worn him out! :wuerg: Boris' example of babysitting has not made an impression. -.-

Brooke, The noises on the video are just birdsong. Baby reindeer rarely make a noise, except if they loose their mothers', then it's a honking noise.
When I've got lots of babies, I'm sure I'll be able to get honking on video as they are bound to play with each other, then panic as to where Mum is. :)

I am not surprised Gandalf raises your blood pressure sleeping like that, very scary. Tell Boris to have a word with him;)

    Nothing exciting to add today.
Baby Pascha continues to thrive and the other expectant Mothers' are not on "Close Watch" as their udders are not bagging yet.
So all calm and quiet in my paddocks.
Daddy Frodo has been confined for 24 hours on a restricted diet, as he still has issues with lush grass due to the damage to his gut prior to me owning him. Nothing to worry about, and the good news is that this year he is coping better than last, so hopefully he is repairing slowly. And he's enjoying the extra lichen.

    8) Beautiful, Karen - just BEEE-u-ti-ful!!:inlove::inlove:
I'm not on my farm a whole lot like I used to be any more, but I always try to come here when I am, or before I close my computer for the night (unless I've already done a 'face-plant' on my computer!zzz-zz-zzzz:sleepy:), just to see and read about your wonderful herd - and the incredibly good job you do in raising them all with such loving care!:inlove::D

Can hardly wait to 'see' all the beautiful new babies-to-come...and CONGRATULATIONS on your first-born, Pascha:D:inlove:!! She looks so healthy and pretty that she hardly looks like a 'new born'!!

Sleep well for the next couple of days Lily as I don't think the next Mum is ready yet BUT I think later in the week I may have several in quick succession! I may be wrong.. most reindeer owners cannot tell when their girls are due and I may be wrong and someone may surprise me, but I prefer not to be surprised! (on the QT you can see more updates elsewhere, ;))

Nothing new to report, again today.

Pascha is thriving, growing in strength and size but no new brothers or sisters yet and I still feel it will be next week but once they start arriving they may come thick and fast.
As to the wild white baby rabbits in my paddocks. I think Mr Fox has dispatched them as I haven't seen them for a fortnight [IMG]:( Their litter mates are still about.

:inlove:8) LOL! Thanks for the 'heads-up', Karen!....Or is that 'heads-down'!zzzxD

More gorgeousness!:inlove: Is she the healthiest baby you've ever had?? She looks absolutely perfect!! Eyes wide set, too: Intelligent...and a good expression in them. Perfect ears.....:):) (all the better to hear the feed bucket or Mommy calling!)xD:D

Ohhhhh - I'm sorry about the baby bunnies:cry::(.
I guess the foxes have to eat, too...so not really their fault. They are also pretty:) and fit their role, as they should, though sometimes it is sad.:(

You live in a wonderful piece of Paradise already, Karen!! We all Loooove your posts!! (You, too. of course!:music:Lol)

Don't forget all, that there may be sadness too.

My friend, that had the first baby reindeer I heard of in UK this year, has had 3 more born in the last two days. One of which died within 24 hours.. They can be pretty delicate beasties. This time of year it really is a roller coaster and I am worried about the first time mothers' calves as they are at most risk..
Time and sleepless nights will tell BUT Pascha is strong so not a worry.
And Lilly, no Pascha not the strongest so far but she was strong and healthy (maybe the heaviest female but had a few bully boys born too :) )

Yes Karen, Mother Nature can and is at times VERY cruel! I like to keep a positive Vibe going till something changes that attitude!;)
Fingers crossed all will be well this year!:)

I remember at least one - Herman, the 'Monster'. He was really big, but also heavy-looking. Pascha looks big but not too heavy, and also well proportioned - she is, after all, a Lady (or will be..)! Lol!
Whatever happened to Herman? I remember your post about him going to be left entire....have you heard whether or not the new owners have bred him this year? Will there be any new "Monsters"??! :inlove::D

Frodo sure turned out to be a 'miracle boy'!! He is a pretty big boy now too!! Very handsome fella!:inlove: So glad he had your expertise and heart to pull him through what looked impossible!!

Oh! Spring is so exciting at your 'paradise' farm!! Sooooo many babies to come this year!!:inlove:

Lilly, Herman is at his new home and will stay entire but he isn't yet 12 months so his first "ladies" will be during this coming rut - September onwards.

As to the rest of news..
"As expected, no new babies today and I also think none tomorrow.
Baby Pascha continues to thrive and I hope/think she will have playmates by the end of the week.
What I am finding funny, is the boys, Frodo, Gandalf (entire males), Boris (castrate) and yearling Bruno (who is booked in for the "chop" on Thursday (don't tell him), are laying in field shelter when not grazing/browsing, which is unusual for any to use it.
MAN SHED to get away from hormonal girls. [IMG]:)

I don't know, but the girls put up with hormonal boys during rut, even when they did not let them feed. So man/bull up and face the music boys. -.- The ten new arrivals are coming. :D Hoping all goes well and not too stressful for you Karen. Do you have some helpers available? Just for normal duties while you're helping all the new mom's. ;) Don't forget to take care of yourself, doesn't help the herd if you go down. :inlove: Love all the updates but we understand if you go quite for a while, the mom's take priority. ;)
