The ironing, house cleaning, and dishwashing piles up but hey ho. Just no visitors welcome at this time of year as animals top priority!

As a funny aside today - I had my Inspection for new Performing Animals License (2 1/2 hours of checking paperwork :( ) all went well but to break ice I was joking about Pooky never having caught a single mouse... BUT a few hours later.. these two dead bodies side by side - weird, spooky, made my day but strange! I've copied this from reindeer FB page so some repeat info..

"Only this morning I was joking with someone that my Head of Vermin Control, Pookie cat, was about to be fired as I have never seen any evidence of her doing her job.
6 hours later and only 5ft from where I was discussing her lack of prowess, I find these.
What a coincidence, I could almost believe that she knew what I was saying.[IMG]:)

Lol, made my day! Pooky was in fear of losing her job! :) She just wanted you to know she can get the mice BUT prefers not too!xD
So did you say the Paper pushers were satisfied with your information? I hope you are now done with them! ;)

BIG Sigh of relief Sand... the only extra bit of paperwork I have failed to provide and I can type up and email... I mistook what they wanted for "Training Schedule" and did training schedule for my reindeer but they wanted Training Schedule for my Seasonal Helpers when we go out and about, so no biggy
BUT what I really found interesting was that they never read the reams of paperwork I provided, just checked the heading of each page! So my Emergency Escape Policy could have read that I sent Pooky out to round them up or Emergeny Fire Procedure could have read that I'll head to Butchers to buy burgers to cook on fire!!! They read nothing apart from the fact I had a page headed with what I do!!
This new License will not sort the problem of neglected animals unfortunately!

I kind of figured that much Karen. The "Paper Pushers" had NO IDEA what you do on your farm and why you do it, or even that your reindeer are NOT trained circus animals, just domestic reindeer that like people and enjoy going out and about a few times a year! Glad you got the "Training Schedule" sorted out as that bothered me for them to think your reindeer were like "Trained Chimps"! It is good they wanted to know who was handling your reindeer when they are out and about and that they are trained to take care of them!;)

Pookie obviously thought she had better just show you that she can do her job after she "heard" you talking about her. Would love to see her rounding up the herd:D
Pleased to hear that the "paper pushers" have been and gone and that all went well. You have enough to worry about at the moment without having to deal with people like that!

Glad to hear the paperwork issue is settled. Sadly, that is a common problem with government/committee groups. Where I work one of my jobs is to fill out a quarterly report for an agency. The form can't even be entered on a computer, but I must turn it in as if it will be - and the report summation (zero change) is always the same. The agency just must check off the box that the form was given to them. Useless paperwork!

The Pookie story is so funny!:) It would seem she got the memo about her job being at risk!

Welcome to the world little one.
A little baby girl to Eli and Fynn. She can't manage standing yet but she was only born at 9am, so hopefully she will get stronger soon.

Also crossed fingers on your new arrival.

Pookie says "Well, I didn't know you wanted evidence beyond the lack of vermin in the area. Here's your proof."

Yesterdays morning arrival was a lot stronger at dawn this morning, thankfully.

    AND....Look who arrived last night.
Gandalf's first, a baby daughter - Mischa, mother.
She actually glowed in the dark, hence I think she will be called Luna.
    Picture at dawn this morning.

She is white (not pale grey), she has pink pigment so her antlers in velvet will be pink with white hairs. :)

Not sure yet, her eyes appear pale and her pigment is pink but it will be easier to tell in a few days if she has any dark pigment anywhere. Albino's eyes in reindeer aren't pink though due to the extra "cones" in order to see in the ultra violet spectrum. Time will tell. :)
