And I think Katya may calf in a few hours - she is a little restless. :) Shelling peas here!

    Both yesterday's babies doing well.

It's easy getting photos of baby Luna as Mischa is happy with me sitting with them both but Eli's calf is more tricky as Eli runs away and I don't want to overly stress her once I know she is okay.
Have a look at Luna's bright blue eyes.

Lilly, Eli's baby hasn't a name yet. Her mother only joined my herd 2 months ago and the agreement was that if her calf survived (which I am doing my darndest to ensure) them the calf would return to Eli's previous owner. I have asked previous owner if she would like to name her but as yet no response (she doesn't usually name until they start working). The lady is very busy, so I may name her in the meantime and her owner can change her name later if she doesn't like my choice. :) Suggestions welcome.
As to colour, yes she will stay white her skin pigment is VERY pink (she looks like a soap powder ad), that is until she lays in pooh - which will be a nightmare, she will be a pooh magnet!

As to the rest the boys continue to do the things they usually do but most of my attention is elsewhere.. Boris and Frodo were put in a separate paddock as company for Bruno who is having surgery tomorrow.. Within an hour somebody (guessing Boris) had trashed a water container. Oh the joys of reindeer.

Happycallie, lovely to know you follow my babies too. xx

Poor Boris, he gets the blame for everything even if he is the guilty one. He obviously just did not like that water container in HIS paddock:p Hope young Bruno's surgery goes OK tomorrow. Having "the chop" can not be pleasant:(

BoHoKaren, thanks for the response. You educate me so much about reindeer and ruminants. I must relate a story to you.

I know someone who I see regularly who raises goats, they are also a ruminant. She was telling us about a goat that she lost that had been fine the day before. I mentioned about you and the reindeer mentioning that I don't know goats but it is common to have a reindeer fine for breakfast and gone by dinner. She said that is what happened to her. She was mentioning that her girls were due soon and I asked how she knew. She said they spent time with an entire male, so they are pregnant. Found out recently that they all are, lol.

The only difference I see is that goats seem to be hardier I think, otherwise very similar. Thank you for educating me so I could help her. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

8)LOL!! ...Mischa's baby a 'Pooh magnet'!!xDo_OxD Maybe you could call her "Winnie" (the Pooh!) until they give her another name!:D:music: She is also a 'Winner'!!:inlove:

Ria's baby's coat is a beautiful color! :inlove: As are ALL your babies!! And now you have a boy, too! WOW - sooo many wonderful babies!! CONGRATULATIONS for you and the beautiful herd you are so skillfully and lovingly growing!! I (we, all of us!) will always be grateful to your Mom for giving such joy, for you and also to so many of us.:inlove: She was a very wise woman!! As is her daughter, who also chose wisely.:D
Thank you for all the joys you have, and are, sharing with us here!!:inlove:

And moooore babies to come!! - can hardly wait to see the whole 'crop'!! Lol!

P.S. Please give Pookie a biiiig hug from me - I Love that cat!!:inlove::inlove:
What she did (bringing you the mice) was no coincidence...cats c-a-n understand what you are thinking/feeling! I had a very special cat who also could - provable, and in no uncertain terms!
I will always think of her and miss her though she has been gone for years now.
    GO POOKIE!:inlove::D:inlove:

Farmlily - Pookie got hugs all night last night as I have spent the last 2 night camped in a caravan in calving paddock with the babies coming thick and fast.
Previous night I couldn't find her at all, despite walking all my acres calling, (maybe she was hunting mice for neighbours!) but last night I found her and she spent the whole night cuddled up to my head. It was lovely. I had to wake her at 5am, I was already dressed, to let her know it was another baby check time!
