Such a great video!!! >:(I had to laugh at how Pascha took a timeout of honking to potty. xDxDLOL Then back to it....just like in a store...when a kid is saying "Mom" over and over. She was so excited to find her Mum. But Mum was like...yes...I've been here all along...and going to continue to eat....and NO its not time for you to nurse!:p

Thanks for the fun video, Karen. :inlove: And thank you, Brooke, for the great play-by-play of the darling dramatic moment. :)

There are many times that my heart stops beating but luckily Lily's ear went up and a perfect chance to check to make sure she isn't deaf - a whistle woke this sleepy youngest baby girl.

And so many friends are losing their calves. :(.. I wish I knew why mine are surviving, in order to help others but I don't know. So little research into reindeer but 50% survival worldwide needs to be worked on. I was worried about so many mothers' this year but 5 of my "worry girls" have already calved ad rearing well. Only one panic girl to go... All babies thriving. :)

Omg that would scare me too! She is so cute though!:inlove: In my humble opinion Karen, it could be that your herd is so well taken care of year round,so that when it is time for rut they are in prime condition, both males and females! I have to think that helps a lot!

Charming photos! :inlove: Lily is so adorable! Very sorry to hear about so many losses, even as I rejoice in your healthy herd.

I think I would have been scared seeing Lily lying like that. A little beauty amongst the buttercups. Sad news about your friends losing their calves, but so glad that all yours are doing well. I hope that Belle has a beautiful healthy baby as well.

Lily just wants to bask in that field of beauty with her beautiful self. She found a zen moment. It certainly looks like a place where I would want to lay all stretched out soaking in my surroundings.

Oh, Karen!! What beautiful babies - and so many of them, too!!:inlove::D:inlove: So many colors...and the white ones are just about the whitest white I've ever seen!!
And - of course - I Looove that one of the white ones is named Lily!! Lol....I wonder whyyyyy??Lol!...:music::p What a happy coincidence! :)))

Isn't there some Legend about white reindeer that you told us about long ago?? I have forgotten the details....and would love to hear it again, if you are so inclined, and have the time... Those babies are just about the whitest white I've ever seen!!(Repeat...!)Lol!
Your herd must be world renowned by now...has there been any feedback about all your whites? Your herd may just be one of the most beautiful (and healthy - sanddollar15 said it very well) in the world - if not THE Number One!!

That close-up photo of Amber is almost as perfect as it gets - she is absolutely stunning!! She looks so gentle and sweet.:inlove: What lovely greeting cards that photo would make - or posters, or ads for your business and farm!!

Has the last baby for this year been born yet?? Can hardly wait for your next posts...!!:D

I am still waiting for Belle to calf (the last one) but her udder is now developing well, so not long now.
In the meantime little Casper is starting to show the first signs of his pink antlers buds.
Pascha has antler buds but only detected by a head rub as she is brown..
All three white reindeer will have pink antlers but Casper being the male is showing first.

Still waiting but mother is getting close now. :) She's a young Mom so high on worry list

Belle is driving me ditsy - the last girl to calf. Her tummy is huge, baby kicking and udder developing.
She wasn't actually meant to be in calf but Gandalf jumped the fence, late in the rut and I found out why 8 weeks ago when I saw a calf kicking in her belly but I didn't note down when he jumped fence as I thought he just wanted to join main herd! So hey ho Belle is still to calf.. BUT when?
Pascha is 7 weeks old and the youngest 3 weeks. In the meantime Fleur picture she's now 4 weeks and doubled in size.

Wow, has it been 7 weeks already? time sure does fly, she is a pretty little girl and growing by leaps and bounds! It looks
like Belle with give birth when she is ready lol but in the mean time your waiting must be real hard to do! :) Fingers crossed
all goes well and I;) can't wait to see if it is a girl or a boy or maybe even another white beauty!

    Nerves are freying ;).
The 9 babies "on the ground" are doing beyond expectations - yay, Happy Dance.
BUT I need Belle to calf so that I can cope with the early days, in which there is a high chance of losing baby.

As you know, I jumps through hoops to keep them alive but the first few days are traumatic..
So once Belle calves and her baby is safe, then I can relax a little! :)

A massive Thank you to Mir for finding the time to search posts to see when Gandalf jumped fence! If Belle calves to exact date, then the 4th... but any day now... Mir you are a star! xx Thank you

Yes Karen with 9 healthy babies and mums so far, that is a reason to "Happy Dance" all over the pasture! But there is always the little nagging voice in your head saying "still one more to go!" So it is hard to really relax and enjoy the season quite yet!;)

You may not have included it in your notes, but you did tell us :D I did a quick search and found this post from October 24th where you say Gandalf jumped the fence that morning/night before. Hope that helps and good luck to you, the mothers, the babies, and fathers :p all doing a terrific job so far :) and thanks for keeping us updated :inlove:
