Catnip & mint are natural fly repellants. Any way you might be able to use them or maybe their natural oils around their tender bits to keep the flies away?

I have had Vet back out to Belle today.
She had a long acting antibiotic, pain killer and Oxytocin to close her cervix after her awful calving (10 days ago). She has not been eating well, staggery, still depressed, been losing weight and started to discharge badly yesterday with all the inherent problems of fly eggs which I have been bathing off as soon as laid.
In the meantime, her rear end has been bathed daily, mainly for fly issues, she has had a multi vit with vit B, cobalt, selenium and copper, probiotics which started her eating again and Yesterday morning, I gave more antibiotics when a smelly discharge started.
Vet has been and flushed her uterus with an iodine solution (that was fun!), given more Metacam and his strongest antibiotic (unfortunately with language barrier I am not sure what it was but it was injected into cartilage of ear, apparently only drug that is??) but I will see when invoice arrives.
He is confident that she will "turn the corner", lets hope so.
Poor girls has been a pincushion for the last 10 days!
I'm hoping for miserable weather to keep flies away!

Glad for Belle's improvements and looking forward to her complete healing. The video was a nice start to my morning -the baby at the table made me laugh; just like toddlers who put everything in their mouth!xD

New baby head collars (halters) have arrived from USA. Only had chance to put them on Bertie, Pascha and Fleur so far. Can't say that they were too impressed! :)

    Here is Fleur

Funny, my cat gets the exact same expression if I try to get him to wear something. Ears back and all.

The babies are starting to show more interest in the paddling pool but it is only baby Bertie that paddles and splashes so far.

This afternoon the flies have been driving them all ditsy. Oh for a fly repellent that actually works.
