Where To Post?

Have you never encountered a free app where you can upgrade to premium, i.e. pay, and not have ads? I'm even a member of a forum where you can pay a monthly subscription to support the running of the forum - and not have ads.

Forum is free for us, but not for BP. Mods may be mostly free, but BP have employees who manage the mod teams, you need IT people to run and maintain a forum, you need servers, and the forum software (made by XenForo see link at the bottom of the page) is not free.

Edit: I just now realized that what you meant to say (I think) is that BP is free to do this in the forum, not that the forum doesn't cost money to run. Sorry about that, my bad.

I sincerely don't understand what you expect to get from an official announcement.

If you want to hear from the mods, go to general issues. The rarely "weigh in" on things in other areas of the forum.

 

I have, but in this instance, the ads are constant. Most apps that use ads have them pop up after a certain amount of time or usage, and you have the facility to click out of them. You certainly aren't forced to view them permanently. These ads are running constantly, and can only be removed by payment.

Typical the minute I say I haven't seen any. One pops up (google ad)

 

This forum is where one can speak freely.. I said my thing... you said yours...others said thiers No harm came to no one.. I did however misread your post at first glance... I did had to reread it... still although it was looking more clearer to me.. I was in like a duh moment .. cant say aawah... or is that how?...lol

But the truth be said... BP does not have to give any of us a warning if they choose not too... This is thier site.. I was mainly saying it would have been nice they did give us a warning.. That was all i meant.. And they do not need our ok to do such things ethier. I was really on BP side...lol And yes maybe its the first for me... NAH...lol

We love thier game... I am all in for them putting ads up.(long as it does not affect game play) .. Been mention if one pays it will be removed... well pay how? I do monthly subscription and i have the ads... look if they have to have ads on forum/game to hopefully give us ads/videos to watch to earn credits for whatever we choose then I am all in.. 10000 percent.. I gave up on it.. they got one now where you have to do a survey and I hate them surveys . But first time maybe i goofed.. I redid it... again no payment... I am not doing another survey... least until i get some type of credit for it.

@-Mir85- There's a saying I always hated to hear... sometimes the truth hurts... (sometimes it don't.) Or another one... If the shoe fit fits . lol We see countless of posts to where at times things are said that we don't like... I even had a few myself mainly back in the early days.. The one I mentioned is in the actual game frame. After you log in, the game frame shows up, playing a video ad, and only after it is finished the game starts loading. I have these on some extrafarms where I never spent any money. The ads in the forum are not dependent on whether or not you bought something.

 

That's it the game frame.. I didn't know what to call it but just loading the game it pops up... after its done... game loads yes.. i never paid attention to how often it happens... maybe I should... I just don't use nor log into that account often..

Could be reason why I don't see it cause I buy the Subscription on this account..The other is my Xwife's account that i play from time to time... have spent few dollars here and there on it though... but that's about it..Still get ads ( Now if this has just started then I cant say much about money spent... I like to think its been months since i got anything on that account... Only a MOD can help me with that issue.) . So now thinking.... ok people if you smell smoke it is my head in over drive...lol me is thinking yes you will have to have a premium to get it off...RIGHT????

Jazac, you don't need premium. You just need to spend real money on the game in some way, like the harvesters.

They're called pre-roll advertisements and were announced by the mods back in April 2014 after the testing phase was over.

They show up every 8 hours unless you've spent any amount of money on your account after 2013.10.30, which is why sometimes you can play the game without seeing an ad and sometimes not.

If you're seeing these ads on an account where you have spent money after 2013.10.30, it's probably best to write directly to support.

We didn't get an OA about the more recent forum ads but the Zoomumba forum did in the form of a feedback thread. It seems they're still in the testing phase and Bigpoint might be waiting until things are more official before having the mods announce them here.

 

zerodegrees, I noticed the ads in Zoomumba a looooooong time ago. It is annoying if you have paid though. I am talking about in the game, not the forum.

Get an ad blocker. It completely blocks all ads or use a VPN!

 

I still think we are talking about different ads, not that it makes any difference to the current conversation.

There are the ads that show on the right side of the Forum (no problem at all); there are the ads that show when logging in on the game frame (I just refresh and no waiting lol); there are now some new ads that show up at the right side of the game frame (to be more precise, increasing the farm frame). These have only (so far ... and famous last words, as Baw said) appeared on my baby farms and cause (me) no real problem, just a little irritation that I now ignore.

I just wanted to make it clear that these are a new phenomenon.

 

illy, I felt exactly as you feel.

I installed ad blocker in Google Chrome. So no Ads, both in game and forum. In firefox, I don't get ads in the game. But in the Forum, I get Ads.

 

Oh... eww...

I wonder if these are new ads that will be shown alongside the existing pre-roll ads, or if Bigpoint is just experimenting with different ad formats as browsers become increasingly strict about automatically blocking autoplay media with sound.
