It was a first for me seeing that amount of grooming.
The video was 5 minutes and it had been going on for minutes before I got camera out and neither worried as I walked around them filming from different angles but then reindeer are very trusting beasties.
All the babies are losing their baby coats in patches and this amount of grooming may be part of the reason!
    Edit..
Apologies for lack of updates but we have had family visiting.
I had time for a few snaps today so several stories to update.
Firstly Lexi, she is doing what Lotte did last year (they are half sisters, so MAYBE that explains it!)
She is standing in the squeeze chute when there are acres of land to be in. The chute is rarely used but it is invaluable once in a blue moon to restrain if they need a very tricky procedure. It's basically two mattresses that clamp together to hold their body still to safely restrain, but WHY volunteer???
    Got to love reindeer!

I think it's like cats with boxes. Who knows why they like them so much, but they do!

Perhaps she thinks it is some sort of new gym equipment, after all a girl has got to keep fit;)

Did I mention that a wonderful lady wanted to stroke a reindeer for her 70th birthday Bucket List in June? She sent such a wonderful email and was prepared to travel miles and stay in a B&B, so I just had to say yes. :)

I am still struggling with Belle - now she has a serious worm burden - I did a fecal test on her today as she was scouring. Whether the antibiotics interfered with her worming dose, or her lack of antibodies making her more prone or whether I have a worm resistance to Ivomectin, at the moment, I don't know - a serious worry.
Gandalf's new paddock required a 100m of waterpipe buried before he goes into rut... accomplished that today with lots of hard digging over the last week, just have to connect up in the morning BUT TG I have beaten him before he goes into rut!
Hmmn I have missed a few quest on here. :(

Karen, what a sweet and wonderful thing you did for that Birthday lady! I am sure she will remember you and her wonderful experience forever!:inlove::inlove: Poor Belle has been through the wringer and back, I hope she gets better real soon, that will be the best news for her and you!;)
I hope all goes well tomorrow with the water connection! Best of luck!

o_OHoping Belle soon improves; poor thing has really had a terrible time. It really could be the antibiotics interfering; have seen something similar in dogs.
Congrats on the waterpipe success!:D That was a lot of work for you; but it is worth it!

Belle is a serious worry again and I have penned her up with Bruno for company. TBH she hasn't much weight left to loose due to Metritis.

Reindeer loose condition rapidly. The only positive I can give is that I know why and I can work really hard on all her issues, to hopefully keep her going.

    On a lighter side,

Sometimes catching up for worming injections doesn't go quite to plan, particularly with the boys that are close to going into rut! Oh boy they are head strong now.

But I am pretty pleased with myself as I managed to catch up and inject 23 of my 24 alone... Just one to do in the morning. [IMG]:)

This is Frodo but to be honest I think Gandalf will strip in the next week as he has started to "play" antler pushes with me - he's a demon in rut BUT he produced wonderful calves, so I am risking another year of keeping him entire (This may be inscribed on my gravestone! [IMG]:)[IMG]

Just make sure that you do not let Gandalf make a kebab out of you:wuerg: I do hope that you are able to help Belle recover, it must be a very worrying time for you.

Wow Karen, 23 of the 24 shots done...you are either VERY brave or a little crazy!:inlove:xD but it is done! Poor Belle, I hope being in with Bruno helps lift her spirits and she soon starts to mend!

Continued prayers for Belle - hoping things will start to improve soon. Congrats on getting so much worming done!
o_OExtra blessings as you deal with Gandalf this rut, may there be nothing but lovely calves as a result.

"WE" haven't gone into rut yet but for some reason I think WE are very close! [IMG]:) Eeek
This is the welcome Gandalf gives me at every feed time in the last couple of days...
TG I have his secure paddock ready.. but I haven't got his girls ready yet....
Gandalf, please wait until September, you are turning me grey!
