Blessings on all the babies; both those in a new home and those that stay. What a story about Casper!xD So glad no harm was done. Must have thought he was a white tornado!

Katya obviously knows what she wants - and pushy Gandalf isn't to her taste. Will be interested to see who is daddy to her calf.

Thanks for answering my question Karen :) time between new calves and rut goes so quickly, but then there is such a wait until next years calves.

Is it hard finding buyers you approve of for the calves you want to sell?

It is very hard Mir, I turn down many hence still having Bruno as I haven't found the right home for him yet and it is always a worry if I have judged correctly but when I get photos back like these it turns my dread to a very happy smiley face... Photos received today.

For all long term followers, an update from Ythanbank Reindeer on "babies" Freddie (Mischa's son) and Storm (Elsa's son).
It is always hard to part with our babies but photos like this make it all so worthwhile [IMG]:)
Thank you Scott and Elaine for looking after Freddie, Storm, Thor and Loki so well. x

8)EDIT: I was too tired to leave a written message^^^ (probably wouldn't have made sense anyway!) when I saw your beautiful photos of Freddie and Storm - two of my favorites!
Isn't that Freddie in your Signature photo??:music:

Thank you (and Scott & Elaine!) so much for posting them!:inlove: I really never knew how beautiful reindeer could be - having seen mostly the cartoon versions, which are cute...but don't have the beauty that your real ones do. And what an education your posts have been!!:inlove: Thanks again, Karen, for all the time and efforts you put into sharing such personable and gorgeous creatures with us!!:D:inlove:

P.S. What-in-the-world is Storm doing up on that.....table? Platform?...thingy?? Hahaha! Your 'babies' surely do have their own unique personalities!!:inlove::D:inlove:

Farm Lily I didn't put in back story of the "platform" - it was built for Thor, as he loves climbing BUT Storm (a year younger but more pushy) took it over and won't let Thor get on it. :(
My update is only just baby Fleur who I am delighted seems to be keeping her beautiful apricot colour (far right)

And did I share Caspers introduction to his new herd where he scared a castrate 4 times his size to get stuck in a tree by the antlers?? Only funny after all were safe!

Fleur is a very pretty colour, maybe it is the apricot colour that makes her so feisty:)

I am so much of a Techno Numpty that I have only just found this old video, it was made featuring my reindeer AND I've never seen it before tonight!
Every single reindeer on their website is mine and I never thought of checking their page out!!
I know it's early to start thinking Christmas.. BUT it's got me in the mood.. :)

I always think myself very lucky to have been able to meet Hector in "person" and to have a little piece of his antler. It means a lot.:inlove:

Sorry folks for lack of updates.. Reindeer are all well, it was just me struggling with a chest infection - for 48 hours I couldn't wake up and I have since been leaning on fence posts every 20 yards to get breath back in order to feed them.. I can now breathe BUT weather is not conducive for great pic.

    t "LooksLike RainDear".(Luxlyk Reindeer).
What a day, it has poured down continually, I only dared take my camera out once in the "baby" paddock.
Some of the babies have started to strip their velvet but what I haven't seen before, as never had true whites, babies Lily and Luna had blood on their heads due to velvet strip - not noticeable on brown reindeer..
Worrying at first until you realise it is only the velvet strip..
Pic Lily foreground, with a bloody head. [IMG]:)

Belle update, I thought she had turned the corner as for 3 weeks I hadn't seen any discharge but she is showing a little again :(. So now over 5 months of an infection that antibiotics can't resolve. Others think she is gaining weight but I don't see it. I think she will survive but maybe not look healthy until the Spring... She has been kept out of the rut.

Thanks for the update! ;) I hope you are feeling a lot better! A chest infection? Sounds bad...please take as good of care of yourself as you do your lovely reindeer. Poor sweet Belle, I hope and pray for her. You were very wise to keep her out of the rut.
I'm jealous of all your rain.:music: It's still 85 degrees here in California, no rain in sight and fires to the north and south.
