The fire to the North is almost contained...the fire to the South is much more difficult b/c of the Santa Ana winds.
Personally.....My Dad had a heart attack last week. They have put a heart pump in to rest his heart, so possibly it may recover. The Doctors have told us not to hold onto to false hope. He won't be coming home. We are very, very sad.

We have had weeks of rain and sleet but today the sun finally came out so just a random pic of the "mother and baby paddock".

Belle, who has been struggling since her awful calving, can be seen rear right. She is still not wonderful in body condition, infection is calmed but cannot be cured by antibiotics. Vet said since June, it is up to her to fight as no more medications available. and she is fighting, she's still with us, AND a vigorous reindeer. I am just hoping Spring will trigger more improvement. Frodo did it - okay different causes but I am now pretty confident she will thrive eventually - she too is a fighter! :)

I watched horseracing from your neck of the woods this morning and some of the turf was floating away! (Or at least more puddle than turf.) So glad you got some sun.

First day out for the season - it was a Hospice fundraiser.
Maybe not the best for Luna's first outing (as it was a long journey) but she went with her Mother and mother is Mischa, who absolutely loves outings and really "plays" her audience.
I changed my mind many times as to whether Luna should go. Luna has met many people/children at home but her first time away from her home paddocks and the rest of the herd.
Baby Luna was a little on edge for the first 15 minutes but soon settled, even though she hadn't seen umbrellas or children dashing round on scooters.
At the close of the day we were asked if we would wander by the bedrooms of patients that were bed bound - said with a baby, I wasn't sure but we'd try. She coped wonderfully apart from one leap in the air when lead rope became tight she landed on her rear hooves and skied over on her back.:( but except for one scary moment this precious white baby, helped raise money for the hospice and brought a smile to terminally ill patients..
It was her first day out, and a very good girl apart from one hiccup.
    Extra cuddles tomorrow. xx

Just slightly worried if an "Anti" caught on video her leaping in the air and falling over, while we were walking down a slippery slope, it could be posted out of context rather than the other 3 hours and her visiting terminally ill patients... I will have to keep an eye on Social media ... just in case!.. Lovely day but such a shame everything is a worry these days...

Hopefully there will be no spoiler person to pester you. Luna will certainly be a hit on future outings as she gains experience. Having her sociable mom along certainly helped.

I love to hear about your visits to hospice; you bring much joy to people badly in need of it. Thanks so much for all you do to make days brighter for so many!:inlove:
