Sadly Karen, as I was reading your post of your days outing, and got to that part of the story I was thinking the same thing! I truly hope people were only there to see the good you and your reindeer do for such places as Hospice's and hospitals and nursing homes and
not looking for the bad things to write about! Fingers crossed!:inlove:

What a very special place for little Luna to visit on her first outing, and it was nice that she got to go with her mum. I bet her and Mischa brought smiles to everyone's faces:inlove:

Luna being white certainly looked angelic.

The sun was shining today. Mischa and baby Luna back in the "mother and baby" paddock... All seems well as I haven't seen any negative footage yet. :)
Enjoying the sunshine (mother and baby paddock). (Mischa and Luna - red head collars)
The pastures are still squelchy but at least a dry day for a change

It isn't usual or needed to put a rug on a reindeer as they naturally have fabulous insulation but as long term followers know, Belle has struggled this year but she's a fighter and hasn't given up..
She had an awful calving which resulted in a dead calf and Metritis which could not be resolved by 3 uterine flushes and 5 different antibiotics over 3 months. Nothing left in vet's armoury, so it was up to her to fight infection.
She has almost won but I do see a little discharge still from time to time but she lost so much body condition that now we have frosts I am trying a rug but checking to make sure she doesn't overheat, which she hasn't, so far and seems pretty comfy in her coat. Only issue at the moment is I have to feed her separately as some of the others are chasing her away as she doesn't smell/look like a reindeer.
Once Spring comes around I am hoping she'll regain her weight. But for now a rug and TLC.

Bless her she certainly does look comfy in her coat. Not nice of the others to chase her away just because she has a coat on. Perhaps they are jealous that they don't have the latest fashion accessory:p

My heart strings always pull when my reindeer go to their only long term booking (the only long term I do, as owner of the Christmas Tree Farm is a vet and she looks after them beyond).

Usually a mother and calf but this year babies Bertie, Fleur and Lily.

Just love these photos of Fleur, Lily & Bertie.

Bertie is misbehaving though today, I sent him to look after the girls but it appears he is mounting Lily. Must be a dominance issue so may have to bring him home and send Amber or Swift

We are back from Blaby Light Swith On, a lovely but busy evening..

Boris and Mischa attended (along with our wonderful helper Jane).
These two reindeer are my "go to" reindeer, when there is a Fairground, light sabers, and whirling flashing light things, in every child's' hand. Boris goes to sleep (sometimes laying down, other times standing) and Mischa "plays the crowd". Nothing ever phases either of them. I swear if there was an explosion, then Boris would sleep through it, and Mischa would be looking for the fall out, hoping for lichen raining down..
I sneaked out to buy us handlers something to eat and managed to get two dodgy photos (one extremely dodgy as taken over the shoulders of the crowd) but hopefully I may find a better one posted by someone who attended

Boris obviously gets bored by all the fame and attention, he knows that he is absolutely wonderful:inlove: As for Mischa she is just a born show girl:inlove:

Please bare with us at this time of year, as we are on the "sharp end" ie handlers are so busy talking to audience, making sure antlers don't accidentally go where they shouldn't as my reindeer (mainly the girls) want to interact with all their fans... the boys just sleep through anything!!! We have to rely on other people sharing photos.. So I await our outings.
So for tonight I can share a photo of (last year's baby Fergie - who I am sure some may remember) going on her first exhibit in her newish home (since February) - she was a very relaxed Star... Hmmn maybe she has learnt from Uncle Boris that you can look fab even when taking a nap! :)

Last year's baby Fergie (who some will remember), now happily living with the Woodbine Farm herd, has had her first big outing.
A very good girl by all accounts and soooo relaxed - seems she takes after uncle Boris for having a nap during outings!
