I thought I would take a stab at the sums - it certainly made my eyes goggle! I had a few moments to spare and a few brain cells bashing around looking for something to do so here goes. I only counted once - I was going boss-eyed trying to remember what I was counting! So, please, do correct me - I'm hoping I over-counted! :p
    Ski Board Reeds: 35,150 :wuerg:
    Ski Goggles: 820
    Ski Gloves: 820
    Ski Poles: 820
    Ski Passes: 400

This is categorised as "hard" and I think it is justified. I like the look of the prizes so I am all in, I will have to move my outlying trees from the Main field and Green Meadow, half empty the Glade at first and maybe more later on. I will try to do three daily harvests and one overnight of CF with SG. Let's hope this is enough! :music:

    Good luck all! ;)

nice cloud row...wondering about drop rates, but you know I'm going for it. Thanks for starting the thread, Illy!

Thank you illy for starting this ski trip. I hope there are a few spots we can skip. BP did not give us a hint this time about what has a higher drop rate. Think reeds are in order here. :)
    Decided to go with Hydrangea.:music:

    I don't like winter. I don't like skiing. I don't like this event.

I like to thank illy1996 for the great math attempt and joanc123 for the SOS. I like to wish everyone a good one. I like smiles and hugs and strawberries with whipped cream.

I don't like it either, time for some nice relaxed farming. :)

Chinchilla Stable, Safety Cones Factory, Fern Tree, Cottonwood tree are part of the rewards if one can make it to the special zone. I also like all the season rewards points. So wanted to skip the next event, I will prepare just in case it does not take too much time or energy.

the main hurdle is zone 2, after that the requirements for the special zone seem low but I don't know how often vending machines drop ski passes which is what that zone mainly needs.

I have worked out that one needs to complete 12 steps in zone 1 to get the yellow scissors and be able to move on to level 2 - further rewards in zone 1 are not worth going for. This requires roughly 4500 reeds

Zone 2 needs to be completed in full requiring roughly 22000 reeds

Then to get the tree fern in the special zone anther 1500 reeds.

So to get all good wonder trees, stables and cloud row the minimum needed is roughly ( I did not work in out accurately): 28000 reeds. so 5000 less at least.

Still need to aim for roughly 6000 crops per day which can be done in roughly 4 days farming 24/7 with all 3 fields or in 6 days with a bit of sleep in between

Wow! I am only interested in the cloud row because it is a 5% increase in drop rate. Worth a try. I usually prefer high crops for staging - but sadly just fed all my stables on the magical glade. Here's hoping I get drops from them before they are removed to make room for the event crop.
Thanks illy for the number crunching and Mellowmalt for the strategy!

I have absolutely no idea, Molly! I will just fall into the event and see how it goes. I am hoping for a little help from the Farmwheel - it seems to have forgotten me for sooooo long, I am sure I am due for +100% harvest or even - a girl can hope - +200% harvest! :p
Hope the Wheel falls in everyone's favour! :inlove:
Just checked - I actually bought a +100% Plant Harvest in the Birthday event ... wahoo! :D

EDIT: Does this mean that my calculations were correct? o_O

    Thanks illy1996. :)

All I can say is I'm getting slightly different numbers...

    Area
    Ski Board Reeds
    Ski Goggles
    Ski Gloves
    Ski Poles
    Ski Passes
    Zone 1
    8,910
    210
    160
    230
    0
    Zone 2
    22,550
    490
    560
    490
    0
    Special Zone
    3,690
    120
    100
    100
    400
    Total
    35,150
    820
    820
    820
    400

Btw, each vending machine gives 5 ski passes every 3 hours. Unlocking the vending machines should your first priority if you want the extra prizes from the Special Zone, but you don't have to worry about ski passes at all if you only want the CR and givers.

    *** EDIT ***

Strategy for CR + givers only

    Zone 1: 13 - 19 - 25 - 26 - 20 (Scissors) - 7 - 8 - 9 - 3 - 4 - 5 (Penguin Blunder) - 10 - 16 - 17 - 18 - 12 (Beary Slippery) - 6

    Zone 2: 6 - 12 - 13 - 7 - 8 - 14 - 20 - 26 (Goat Heave) - 15 - 9 - 10 - 4 - 5 (Llama Stunts) - 16 - 22 - 28 (Event Cloud Row)

    Requirements
    27,210 Ski Board Reeds
    630 Ski Goggles
    590 Ski Gloves
    630 Ski Poles

    Thank you, illy1996 , zerodegrees and joanc123 :)

I love winter and skiing. Snowfall has a spiritual beauty and skiing gives me a feeling of flying.

This event does not seem enough after the cheerful and productive Birthday Party of BP.

and I'm sure I would like to sit under the broke tree with fb, but now it's time to work.

Now I'm at level 236. For level 300: 12,035,027,273,153,992 EP required.

I get an average of 480 million EP a day. If I do this event: My daily earnings will increase to 7,476,480 EP.

So I can reach level 300 after 67,639 years.

BP you're really playing with us.xDxD

LOL SahraB - that's really thinking ahead! :D

Can you believe that when I started playing this game, nearly 10 years ago (anniversary in March), I was in between jobs and only wanted something to pass the time till I found another one - which I did about two weeks later. :music:
I also told myself, I would just play until I "finished" it! xD

Event preview calendar for february is out and it looks like I can have 2 whole weeks without event crops :D that's great, because the thought of event crops made me :wuerg: today.

I'll Plant the 10 crops and take it from there, I doubt I'll finish but I could pick up a few things along the way. My initial harvest drops looked promising with 110's, but it may be downhill from there; I can only get 2-3 rotations per day.

I'm doing this event for the rewards, but the amount of event crops needed also makes me :wuerg: and I'm seriously annoyed at the different durations for the event crops and vending machines. >:(

First zone cleared, first vending machine in zone 2 cleared to harvest. 45 ski passes so far. Time for a bit of sleep. :sleepy:
