Good Luck to everyone of you. I've basically been quarantined for awhile now, I'm receiving Chemotherapy so I only go between my house and the hospital. My next date is Monday and it's suppose to be my final one. I'm relieved to see the end in sight. I pray for everyone as prayer helps..... common sense helps too and know that we affect everyone around us. Please keep yourselves safe as well as anyone around you. Bright blessings to you all. Never give up hope. Miracles happen!

I bought some shea butter yesterday and started using it on my hands after I wash them. It's doing wonders to help with the dry and itchy feeling they had. Beats the heck out of Aveeno and Vaseline hand lotions.

@Willow - Rightly said. We should not only be physically strong but mentally and emotionally too. Just small acts of kindness, assurance and words work miracle. Strength comes not merely from receiving but from giving and sharing. That's what keeps the world going.

    Thirukkural - Compassion/Benignity

    571. There exists this stupendous beauty called compassion;
    and therefore, the world exists.

    572. It is compassion that keeps the world functioning as it should;
there are those who lack it, and they burden the earth.

Glad to know it is your last Chemo, Molly. You must have bore a lot. All the best. :)

Today I saw in the New York Times how South Korea is managing the coronavirus. It offers good hope and very good results for all the people. I think you should have a look if you can. To keep proper distance between people, I have been carrying my umbrella with me now when I walk each day in quiet stroll that is not very busy. Seems to help better as a reminder to others to keep their distance, please. Take care all. It is all we can do.:)

Guess, what happened here. First our state of Tamilnadu announced lock down for 7 days starting from today evening 6 p.m. It has already started. Then our Central Government has announced 3 weeks/21 days lock down starting in another 1 1/2 hr. It is to be strict lock down. All means of transport within the country are all stopped. No one should go out of the house. We can go out only to buy medicines, provisions or vegetables/fruits/milk. Not more than 4 person should be at a place. Still no plans of how basic needs of people are to be fulfilled dues, taxes etc., have not been rolled out. We expect it may be announced tomorrow.

I do not know how we are going to keep ourselves sane for these 21 days. Due to this my District Judge exam dates are not announced. So I will utilize the period to study. But still it is a total cut off from everything except for neighbours, TV and internet.

Our only aim is to prevent spreading of this virus . So far 9 deaths in India. India has 1.3 billion people and that means 1/5th of the world population is locked down. If not contained, the death rate will become alarming. Hence the measure.

In New Zealand, we are in lock-down for four weeks, so I have to stay home and play Farmerama. Thank heavens for virtual farming!. I am alarmed at the spread in New York especially. And Italy and Spain. It is dreadful.
In NZ we have 205 cases, with all but four related to overseas travel. My work has promised to pay me for two weeks, and the Government may kick in after that.
Look after each other, every-one! The support here is a vital part of that, I know you realize!

    :)

Stay safe David. 4 weeks. You over took us by one week. I hear South Africa is also under 3 weeks lock down. AniE is from South Africa, I think. Escalonilla is from Spain. But I think he does not reside there. Hope they are all safe.

Just a silly joke to take away the stress of lock down, quarantine and injury.

Q: Why is it called Novel Corona Virus ?
A : Because it is a long story.
    :p:p

Last time I left home was on Friday 13th.
Its been two weeks already, since the lockdown started in Spain.

We have a very old population and the virus has struck violently, especially in many nursing homes.

The Army is on the streets helping out and everyone is chipping in with what they got, but the curve doesn't seem to flatten.
Situation in Madrid is still very critical despite all the measures taken.
I know we will make it through as a society, and we will come back stronger, but ~edit~ virus!

Glad to hear you are safe, escalonilla. Stay safe. We are using our traditional medicine to combat this virus. China used its traditional medicine to combat it. My family took 3 dose of Nilavembu Kudineer as precautionary measure.

I am so happy to see many of you here and see that you are safe!:)

I am back in Greece, just when Russia closed its borders so I am glad I managed to come home without having any big trouble. I am in quarantine for 14 days, now less than a week is left and then I will be able to join my family and be with them. We do it for precautions reasons because I came back from abroad. It was a very difficult decision to leave Russia, I was there for almost 2 months and even though at first I was having some difficulties then everything was going very good and I had a great time. But because I saw what was happening in Greece and in all Europe I decided to leave because I knew sooner or later everything will shut down in Russia as well. And also I believe it is better to be with family in difficult times rather than in another country in which I couldn't even speak the language. Many of my friends left also but most of them actually stayed. They were so sad to see me leave and the last night they arranged a goodbye dinner where they made their national dishes and we talked about our experiences in Russia these 2 months. I miss them it was so interesting to live in the dorms with so many people from different countries. I tried Indian food so many times, I can't eat spicy food though so it was a challenge for me. I really loved the sweets they made and most of all the Indian tea, it has such a unique taste!
Saint Petersburg was the most beautiful city I have ever been! And as Russians told us we experienced the warmest winter they ever had! hhaha for me it was the coldest winter I have ever felt, it had minus 7 some days and some snow! But they say usually in winter they have minus 20 and the snow reaching the hight of your knee! Fortunately I didn't experience that, it was okay and some days it was so nice it was sunny and we explored the city.

At first I was in a big shock being back and asking myself why and if I made the right choice but now I have realized the situation and I know that health always should be our first priority. It is so weird that all my friends have come back to the island and I haven't seen them since summer but I still can't see them. We are not allowed to go out. But it is for the best and we will go through this, we have to.

I am happy to hear you are good escalonilla! I am so sorry to hear what's happening in Spain.
FarmerMolly22 Good luck with your treatment! Stay safe!
What's the difference with quarantine?
davidb1yth007 good to see you are safe too! Good that your government will pay after your work doesn't. I don't know what will happen in Greece about this matter we are very scared here because most of Greeks work in the tourism industry and it's very uncertain there will be tourism this year.
12ss12 So good to see you! I met many Indians this semester and I am amazed by your culture.
Good luck with your studying for exams for being a Judge!

Ariel, the difference is that a shelter in place means residents must stay home unless their job falls under an essential category, like in government or in healthcare, have food delivered or by takeout in lieu of eating at restaurants and only going outside if they can stay six feet away from others. Or in my case taking my spouse to dialysis or going to the grocery store.

Hi Arielh. :inlove: I was wondering about you for the past 3 to 4 days and how you were faring. I thought that you will sure post here as soon as you got free time. Very happy to hear from you. You tried Indian dishes !!! For outsiders it always is spicy. Russia is a beautiful country and I find their culture alluring. Of course I know these only from books. I have read them a lot in my younger days. They were easily available in India then for cheaper price. They are in between Asia and Europe, so they have several things common with us.

We are having a Baha event now which was asking for some barn crops. I was thinking, if it Arielh had been here, she would have been buying everyday quota of seeds from the shop without fail. ;):)

Thanks. I intend to make best of this time for my studies. How is your studies going on?
Is your country on safer side in this virus onslaught ?

Is it just my imagination that there is a lot of "Farmers" out there that are absent or being silent during these times of uncertainty?
