We're now in the last hour of Flash. I'm dreading the future but realize I have to adapt. Unity has not lived up to my needs for this my darling game but I will not give up! It's not a BP's decision.

Having a bit of the Y2K feeling :p What will happen at midnight! I'll stay glued!
All the best to you all / :inlove:

Nothing will/have happened. They just removed the link to flash version on the loading page so you can't load the game in flash any more. I suspect if they left the link there the game could continue in flash for much longer but I don't know the background of all the technicalities around flash and it's discontinuation. Common sense would suggest to me that nothing else has happened - the flash is still there, the game could be also, so in my understanding it is game maker decision at what time they stop offering the game in flash. Don't think there was a timed switch embedded in flash that disabled it at the strike of midnight.

Actually nortonc, Adobe is the one who put a code in to not let the browsers load flash after today. Blame Adobe, not Bigpoint, this time.

I know it is Adobe software and they are the one discontinuing it's support, but my browser can still load and use Flash (it offers me this option) if I want to. So if the game link to flash version of the game was there, I could still play in Flash. :)
Maybe part of the issue also is that it is double work running the game in both Flash and Unity?

Worst thing that Y2K, totally. Earlier it took 8 mins to get all job done with Harvesters alla help, now over 30min and 17 millions EP LESS because it is too slow to load alla areas and things!

Adobe is blocking Flash from the 12th onwards. From what I've read, it says "beginning 12 January", which implies that it may not apply a blanket ban on everything immediately, but rather roll out blocks in increments. Naturally it makes sense that the transition to Unity needed to be complete by the 11th to avoid being blocked on the 12th without having fully transitioned, but I suppose it is possible that Flash player may continue working in your browser for a little while longer. That is, if I've understood what I read correctly.

Additionally, the Flash player only actually goes away if you uninstall it yourself. It will remain in your browser but not be functional if you keep it. When the "switch to Flash" link was still there, but it had just ticked over to the 12th, I was unable to get in using the Flash version of the game.

After 19 hours of Unity I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised! When we had the forced change over in mid-December I found Unity impossible. But a lot has changed. Game runs more smoothly and loading times are on par with Flash. What is incredibly annoying though is that I seem to wear +5.00 reading glasses while playing. Everything is annoyingly a bit askew. Hope this will be fixed.
I also miss the Winter theme, although I have it live outside my window up here in Sweden :)

Unity is working very well today. Shhhh! Let's not say that too loudly, we might scare it back into it's old, clunky ways. xD

Transition to Unity was "completed" several weeks ago. Flash was just alternative play. Imo it could have stayed there. Would probably not work for everybody, especially those who do all the updates, but would still work for the rest of us "lazy". I might try to find some flash stuff if still available somewhere to verify if it actually works. My browser just says flash is outdated and asks if I want to use it anyway.

As mentioned above, Adobe is blocking Flash content from running in Flash Player, so no, it couldn't stay there - it would be blocked from January 12, which is why the transition needed to be completed by January 11. By completed, I mean all players playing on Unity from the 12th onwards.

I decided to be safe, and uninstalled Flash on my laptop on the 11th. That way Adobe can kill it whenever they want and it won't suddenly mess up what I'm doing at that point.

Fingers crossed that Unity will continue to improve! I'm going to hold off on events for a bit while I wait and see.

That's official info, yes. Yet finding a lot of info about different ways to play flash content (none of which I tested) after kill date. So Idk, are you an IT expert with extensive knowledge of Flash and all the tricks/bypasses related, or are you just copying official info from internet which everyone can read? It's theoretical debate anyway as I can't try Farmerama in Flash anymore although my browser still enables Flash. :)

EDIT: Nearly forgot ........ I am actually playing another game, still in Flash. :) :) :) So tested at least one way ..............

EDIT2: Where can I quickly find independent flash file to test if my browser would actually play it? Can see that flashpoint library and flash emulator but that's not what I'm looking for and do not have much time to waste with it, so if somebody more knowledgeable can point me somewhere it would help.
