Ends: Tuesday, 2nd of February, 23:00 CET

Event crops:
Suneye - 4 hours
Catlicopa - 7 hours
Plantable on Bahamarama Plantation only.

Event drop:
Sickle and Hammer
You will get drops on Bahamarama Plantation only.

You will receive 5 Treasure maps to start and every 5 hours the game will replenish up to 5.

Choose which cave to explore and you will be given either a Scout's compass or pocketknife depending on choice. Combine it with the treasure maps and mill your starter seeds. It is a one-to-one ratio.
1 treasure map + 1 compass/pocketknife = 1 seed

Needed:
5980 Catlicopa
11,380 Suneye
2200 Sickle & Hammer

Both caves have the exact same requirements the only difference is the order in which you need them.

I do not pretend that math is my strong suit so please correct me if you find my numbers to be incorrect.

 

I am not going to stress over this one, but I'm going to do what I can.

Me too, Baw ... seems an awful lot of crops from one field, not even thinking about the drops. Oh well, I'll do what I can and keep those starter seeds going in the mill to ensure a good start for the second lot of seeds. Think I will do the shorter crop first so I accumulate more starter seeds to plant for the longer crop.

Thanks Clashstrummer. I think the Catlicopa seed is a 7 hour seed not 8. I hope so.

 

Going to start with Catlicopa seeds I think. Its more conducent to work, rather than trying to do a 4 hour crop (less with W&E) whilst working.

 

I attempted using the game on the phone (android and chrome) but the map doesn't work so you can't get anywhere but the first farm field. It won't open the harvester either and the only thing I managed to do was to accidentally supergrow something while I was trying to scroll the view to the map.

The quest would be quite doable if the game worked but we will take what we can get.

 

Started the event. First time playing the game after the new changes. So somewhat confused and the game is little bit slow. Can we play it only by downloading or can it be played just oonline. As of now I have downloaded and installed Farmerama and playing it.

 

Well the downloadable client is still playing online - the client is just a shell - kind of like a barebones browser that just does one thing - farmerama.

Has anyone been booked additional maps? I used the first 5 hours ago and have yet to receive additional maps...

 

I've had a second set so far today.

 

weird. None of my farms have received any additional maps. I asked on the general questions section...

Edited to add: oops. Impatient me. Just had 5 more booked onto PrairieMaiden's farm...so it's working...just slower than I'd like.

 

Yippee, I got a 100% bonus on the wheel.

Now for the real reason I have posted, I am finding the drop rate is just awful for the number we need to get, I am doing the "Suneye Cave and will need 1,120 sickle and hammer drops just to be able to get the compasses to make the Catlipoca seed!

 

I agree the drop rate is terrible. I activated crop bonus in order to get the suneyes finished before sister arrives for the weekend to help care for Mom. I had thought the longer crop over the weekend would make less time online, but now it looks like I'm going to have to wait on drops before starting the 2nd crop
Currently, I have 299 sickle and hammer drops in inventory...long way to go for the 1080 needed to move to the next half

 

After my 100% bonus, I am almost done with the suneyes, still have a few harvests to go. I am like sanddollar and PnP, my drops are between 250 and 300, can we say pathetic?

 

The drop rate is dismal, I agree, and this is the first time I've used a Howie Donut. I wonder did anyone start with the Catlipoca? If someone did is the drop rate better? I've got a measly 283 drops and I'm more than halfway through the Suneye's.

I started with the Catlipoca . I'm in the last tier in Catlipoca. But I guess I'll wait.

 

The FAQ says drops from TREES and crops. This is a crop only event though and only uses one field so why would it include trees? Unless trees have a higher drop rate than they do normally. I'm contemplating dragging out all my XXL trees between crops. If I hit them with mulch it's only around a 6 hour harvest time. It's worth a shot anyway.

 

I decided to do the Catlicopa first and have 324 drops. After I harvest my trees tonight I will pull them and plant all event crop and see if that helps. Still need over 2,000 of the crop so removing trees will help getting the crops.

 

Ok, so don't hit me, lol. I got another 100% bonus on the wheel so my first harvest was a doubling of the 100%'s, I decided to stick suneyes in the ground one more time, but otherwise done with those, just need drops . . . (cue Jeopardy theme). My drops are close to 350, gonna be a long slog.

 

Lol baw815 congrats for getting the "far and few between " Harvest bonus's I did get a 2nd one for 6 hours, good enough to now have completed the Suneye crop, I have 12,562 Then I put some 12 to 15 hour crops down and used water, manure and green water on them to help speed the drops along. Right now I do have 678 sickle and hammer drops! Yippee I am getting there! lol Good luck everyone
