I love the fishing events, in spite of the very obvious luck factor which has NOTHING to do with our skill in hitting the circle target. However, it has been said again and again and again that we DESPISE these events that are tied to other events - and yet, we keep getting them. We have stated that we really don't care for this mechanic of the things we need to advance are luck of the catch - the pearls - and yet, here we are again. I don't understand why the developers do not grasp the concept that HAPPY players spend money - annoyed ones quit the game in droves.

 

I totally agree with everything -matselleste- has said, so many of my farm friends and neighbors have chose NOT to do this event
because it is not fun anymore! Most of us just want to fish!! Grow a crop and then pick the lure we wanted to use and mill the product and then "Go Fishing"! Not have to do 3 or 4 events all tied together to play one other event. We have real lives and never know if we will have to miss part of one because of our RL! I really hope whoever is in control there, reads these feedbacks and finally has a "wake up Call" and puts the "fun back into the farm game!"

 

Count me in with -matselleste- and sanddollar15 ~ BP really ought to be listening to their player base & implementing changes based on the feedback. I won't be doing this event { or any of the others tied to it } until the Fishing Event goes back to its' original format. Guess what else I won't be doing? Buying baskets!! Yep, BP, you've "sold" me on NOT spending any $$$ to participate.

 

Ummm, any thoughts on would might be wrong, and difficult trying to fish?? Poor popup placement.

 

I agree!!!! I love fishing in RL.......but this is agonizing!!! Only get to throw out a couple of lures a day. Most boring event ever!!!

 

Sooo long and soooo boring! I have managed to have three goes at the game, even got a Marlin on two of those occasions. Can't see any way I am going to get those Pearls. What were you thinking! (Rhetorical question!)

Edit: Unbelievable! I have bought a couple of individual lures but thought that maybe, just maybe, if I shelled (no pun intended) out for a large box of lures, I might get more luck. One (yes count it!) Deluxe Lure. Whoopidoo!

I will only continue with this as there is nothing to grow or donate but I am not confident of getting anything worthwhile!

 

Same feedback over and over again. You guys are working to put an event out there that is just useless. I love the fishing event, or loved, in he past. It has been days on and I managed to fish maybe twice. I do not understand why to produce an event we can't really even play!

 

This is the first fishing event I've seen outside the very first one as I took a few years off from my farm. This is a very sad and faded version of that original event. I'm not surprised after experiencing what you've turned the Carnival Queen quest into. It feels more of an excuse to use old graphics as a filler than it does an event.

Who thought up the 1 time a day only harvest for coupons to exchange for lures? What a bad idea that was. What was their pitch "I've got a great idea to make this the single most boring event ever!".

 

Since this event does not have a visual reminder on our fields and can only be seen via news or event timer, it is easy to forget to collect our fishing vouchers each day. Other events have an event building on the field. Since this event is accessed through the news, could we get a ! indicator (like the holiday/giveaway calendars) when our vouchers are ready to collect? This event is so slow paced and the worry is that we won't be able to collect enough pearls and that chance is greatly impacted if we don't collect all our daily vouchers. It would a big help to have a little reminder

 

What you have done to Fishing can be summed up in one word.
"RUINED!"

if you were organizing the space program, what would you use the shuttles for?

Another farmer that cannot come here (one of us that were abandoned by that other FISH in the sea), asked me to stop by and give his two cents worth...and I'll put mine in as well.

I get it. The big bosses want a tropical vacay somewhere idyllic, serene, probably with one heckuva view and the good caviar (okay, I watched Overboard about a week ago). So you want us to spend real money to play this particular event. I did that on my "main" farm. Not once, but twice. Denied. No pearls. No matter how many of those purdy marlins I real in, no pearls. Nothing but crates. So the chance of getting the pearls needed to garner the cloud row must be astronomical.

I now realize that it will likely be impossible for any of us to get the cloud row - no matter how many lures we use.

My fellow former fishy farmer wanted me to ask why it is that the currently running companion event didn't reward LURE CRATES or extra vouchers as prizes. Actually, this is a very fine idea...one that could make the event more enjoyable all around and what harm would one or two more castings do?

I've said it before - some of us purchase goodies in game - we have the funds and the want to do this. I am one of those players. But, this time, this particular event has me scratching my head. Why spend another dime? The yield is the same whether I do and I get another 50 deluxe lures or I don't and I never use another deluxe lure - zip. nada. no pearls. no cloud row.

Remind me? Why am I playing this game?

 

The rewards should definitely include Lure crates as dumbunny has said. Everyone else is also right; This is a long, slow, boring, easily forgotten version of a game that used to be fun.

Tip: Don't waste your money in the shop on the crates, just buy the lures outright. For 30 tickets I bought crates that resulted in about 18 tickets worth of lures.

 

All the above but I still want to say that I am totally disappointed how this event is unfolding! Why fix it if it ain't broke?!
BP team should have left the event as it was... FUN... but no, they have turned it into a boring and useless effort...sorry guys

 

Mirroring everyone else's comments. I enjoyed the first fishing event I took part in, but this is worse than pulling teeth. Very little opportunity to participate, rotten lure crate outcomes and ZERO pearls. Pfft.

We are 13/14 days in now and the majority of people have not gotten any pearls. The shop is there to use pearls to buy the cloud row, AND lures. You have set a limit on the lure purchases to 5 each so we are obviously meant to be able to receive pearls as a reward to use them on the purchases.

And the target point for catching must be set to random. Just used 2 deluxe lures (used the vouchers as I am not falling for the rubbish lure crates anymore) and got 2 perfect hits, to receive lobster and octopus. As somebody said before, if you have an enjoyable event, that isn't broken, Dont change it.

PS - the "BUY" button for lures on the actual pond doesn't work. It never has.

 

I tried many times with my three farms and until today I get ZERO Pearl. So ~edit~ hard to get any pearl.....making me wanna give up this game.

 

Why it seems impossible for me to rank even though I play so many zero pearls

However, I have been playing the game, and have never gotten a pearl. It is entirely luck and mine is all bad for this event. It makes a bad event worse.

 

I'm really happy I bought my first pearls, it is not zero anymore, but I hope it will continue.
