Halloween Monster Hunt

Make chains of 5 or more to get creatures and use them to make circles.

 

What I expected: n(n+1)/2 multiplied by 10
What I got: n(n-1)/2 multiplied by 10

My screen clearly showed (n+1) for number of captured monsters but the actual score seemed to use (n-1) instead. WUT.

My scores are all over the place as I'm still learning how to play. I'm so trash at this game but I did manage to score 90,000+ points a few times on my side farms with the highest being 99,770. Now if only I could figure out how to pull off similar scores consistently.

Something isn't adding up for me. How did I get 34,500 from 30 linked + 45 captured monsters? What kind of voodoo math is this?

 

There is no n. The formula is (linked + captured) x 10 x (captured +1)
(30 + 45) x 10 x 46 = 34,500. No problems there.

 

I am getting a late start. At the hospital all day yesterday. So I've only played the first 2 free games. While I understand the concept, I cannot seem to get those large loops of captured monsters to give large amounts of points.

My highest score is 8250 I am enjoying the new game, but unless I get the hang of these scores as you all have, I will not get very far. Low points and late start makes for a LOT of crops and drops. More than 50 wheel spins and no bonuses today.

 

Ah ok, that formula makes a lot more sense. I tried using the one you originally provided and wasn't getting the right numbers and it all went downhill from there. Don't ask me why I didn't think to work backwards from 34,500 knowing that we get 10 points for each monster regardless of whether it was linked or captured. I'm an idiot.

The formula would've been obvious if only I had done this:
34,500 / (75 x 10) = 46

*headdesk*

My sleep-deprived brain couldn't figure out why the numbers shown in the screenshot add up to 28,500 - exactly what I would expect from the formula n(n+1)/2 * 10 where n = linked + captured monsters - but the actual score was much higher. The actual score was lower in a separate game before this one which made me even more confused. Anyway, thanks for solving the mystery!

There are 3 colors per mini-game so I find the color that is more abundant than the others (e.g., light blue) and leave it alone while eliminating the other two (e.g., dark blue and green). Then I work on the edges (starting at the bottom and then moving up the sides) to try to make a continuous loop with that more abundant color (light blue). Need to do this at least 2 times for a decent score so avoid wasting the majority of your 12 moves setting things up for one amazing loop at the very end.

I also try to link at least 5 monsters together when eliminating the other colors to add some monsters to my inventory so I can swap out the ones that are obstructing my path later.

I'm still in the process of figuring out my own strategy so that's pretty much all I've got at the moment.

 

My highest score was 51,350.

Creating a shape like square, rectangle, round or any shape will give you very good points. As all the monsters inside the shape will be counted for points. So I tried to create a rectangle covering all the monsters. But ofcourse few monsters were left out and I got 51,350 points.

My new high score is 43k and I hope to continue to increase it as that will not be enough to reach the Piccolo box, let alone the BB tree.

I've played 6 games so my avg is hovering around 25k. Hopeful but cautiously optimistic too

 

In one of my baby farm I got 69390 points. In the second game I got 77,630 points. So total of 147,020 points in the 2 free games. I am learning to score more points.

But in my main farm, 12ss12, I played 5 games and have only 97,520 points only. That's because I didn't know the trick then. But now i have understood. So from next harvest onwards, its going to be different for 12ss12 farm too.

 

Things I have learned: sometimes it helps to sacrifice a turn or two by making a 5 monster match so you have one or two monsters on the left side to drag onto the playfield to make the big circle. One of my farms managed over 60000 points - I think it might have been sewinglady's, but I don't remember (I've slept since then).

Big push today and tomorrow to get merchandise ready for the Halloween show on Saturday. Not sure I will be able to do more than grow and harvest. Will have to spend Sunday playing mini-games. Ugh.

 

True. I do that few times to create a big circle. Sometimes to get that +1 bonus monster so that I can replace an unwanted monster to form a circle. I try two big circles atleast to get maximum points.

Got some sleep and things are so much clearer now. The problem, as it turns out, was that I was being dumb and using Shimmer's original formula wrong; no wonder I wasn't getting the right numbers. I know better than to do even basic math when I'm in that state but I did it anyway and that was the result - confusing nonlogic that even I don't really understand looking back. My bad.

In hindsight, I should've paid closer attention to the part of *WisdomTree*'s post that Shimmer was referring to instead of cluttering up the thread with my gibberish.

 

Honestly, I could have written it a lot more clearly the first time.

I've played 20 games so far, with an average of 71,809 points. At this rate I'm going to take about 84 games to get the BB tree.

I have had one game above 70k only. I"m not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if that is just the way the monsters are misbehaving

My avg is approx 34k so still loads of room to improve. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong as I think I am following the strategy shared. It is possible that what I think I'm doing and what I'm actually doing are not matching

I have less than 1 million points so I think the BB tree is out of my reach. Unless something changes, the Piccolo box is too I may have to just be happy with the cloud row.

 

If I'm right with my thoughts so this under means:

FAQ says ----> "There is no limit to the amount of Games you can play. Rewards stop being rewarded once the 100th step has been achieved."

means (I use color codes, same color in "facts" (above) and "my thinking" (under):

1) no limited games ---> no special/some average-points to to play to get BB tree, unlimited tryings if You have enough plants and drops ?

2) what prizes ? Where are steps 41 to 100? There is cumulative point counter that gives you rewards from levels 1-40, last level is 6 million points cumulative. What are the rewards for "levels 41-100" is there some list somewhere to levels 41-100?

3) Played games gives you rewards but only 49 rewards, from 49 games, far from 100 games played there is no chart?

4) prize list by points is to level 40 and 6 million points and BB-tree but what prizes "up to 100"?

5) is that "Game Points Rewards" chart, for your RECORD points/game and the best only calculates? Or points and rewards in every round? I don´t need 20++ stickers And what is that "+Grabby Treasure" thing? No picture or information in this game FAQ?

Not played any games yet, have needs/goods to 46 games already and so start when have 49 games ready, in this evening...

If someone player have information and/or some stuff-member can tell more about what I think above ==> so happy me !

 

I do like having a new game to play but am finding it very time consuming and I'm not very good at it yet There'll be no leaving it to the last day to play like I usually do plus I have three farms all trying to get that BB tree

Hello everyone. I am here again after a long time due to my busy work schedule.
I played 49 minigames. My record score is 104620.
My total score after 49 games is 2,244,210

CR up and running.

My target average score is 45,000
So far, I am progressing towards my goal. The first games I played lowered my current average a lot

It is time consuming for me to try to figure out the right combinations of moves, and I'm still not getting 'it.' I thought this morning would be better, but whether it is a poor night sleep or something else, I cannot get good results. I understand in theory what to do but cannot get my board set up to give a good score. Today's scores are worse than yesterday. My last one was only 12k

The board with bright magenta, orange and purple hurts my eyes. Time to reevaluate my goals....

 

I don't understand this game. I got a maximum of 3000 points. and my empty potion bottles are not enough for me. I can't even get the #1 award

Try matching monsters of the same colour and create any shape. I think you are creating lines. Lines gives you less points. If it is a shape, you will get more points. Not only the monsters that you have joined with the lines but also the monsters that are trapped inside your shape also gives you points. So your points will be more. The bigger the shape,the more the points. (You have to finish with the monster from which you started the shape, so as to enclose the monsters - like sheep in a pen.)

For example, see the below picture of wisdomtree. The monster inside the shape too gives points.
