So, this is answer to my question, where to go FIRST with that Silverkey, to get those BOOK Boxes, we need a lot. EDIT: no not left, MIDDLE Door gives You those above steps..., then we have a lot of time to go to other parts of the event!?

Middle door (near sledge!) - You can get your way to get first Special Box !!
Right door - minigame

 

I'm so confuzzled . I actually gave a try at reading the FAQs yesterday, but am still unsure of which course of action to take. So I will follow Mooboy's post and start with farm and moonlight, then island. Kinda doubting I'll be able to complete event - I haven't finished last 3 - as will be extremely busy and away from internet for at least 2 days of the event time. Wish they would have given us a nice easy one, considering most everyone will be totally swamped these next five days. I was going to skip it, but I love all things Christmas, so will do as much as I can and just enjoy the journey. Good luck everyone!

edit: I may have a better chance of finishing than I thought, I just realized the event goes longer than 6 days.

 

Well I am less than impressed.

On one baby farm, I used the 8 easily gathered books to play 4 mini-games. Received 45 star coins and some other useless item (20, 20, 15, useless item - in that order).

So having purchased a basket, sewinglady's farm has quite a few books already. 17 games played. Three times the reward for 1st combo was 15 star coins. 14 other times, received useless crap (EP, TEP (really really useless at level 800), tool boxes, and once 10 farm coins (okay, that's not completely useless)).

So I have absolutely NO idea how any of us are going to get enough star coins to even purchase the CR, much less any of the other nice things. At this rate, 45 coins every 17 games, I think SL's farm will run out of new combinations before I receive 200 star coins. And it's completely random. So actually, you could play all 400 games and NEVER receive any star coins whatsoever - if you have the worst luck in the world, and it looks like so far, SL's farm has pretty close to that.

This may be my last event. May be my last day playing this game. This is unacceptable.

 

If you do not do the Part 1 and 2 of the event, you'll only get 4 Order Books (free ones booked at the beginning of the event) which are good to play 2 mini-games only. The rest of the Order Books are spread into both event parts as prizes for filling boxes as well as in boxes with reset timers of 24h also spreaded in the same 2 parts of the event.

 

Things I know NOW:

#1 - Every farm will receive a different base prize AND a different one time reward for each of the 120 combinations. There is NO way to know what each combo will give you until you play it once on each farm. (I learned this by entering the same combo on this farm and dumbunny's - each open in their own window).

#2 - The prize on the far right of the pop-up window is the BASE prize. It is also the prize that you will see in the orange light if you put that combination back into the conveyor belt. It is also the prize that shows up on the pull out window on the right side of the screen.

#3 - You'll have to make a few combinations to figure out which combination will give you a fairly decent amount of Star Coins. (On this farm, I got lucky and on the third try I got a base prize of 25 star coins for one combination). Repeating this combination gives me no extra prize, but it does give this farm 25 star coins EVERY TIME I enter that combination. So in other words, It's a sure thing of 25 star coins.

#4 - dumbunny's farm received 55 star coins as the bonus prize for a first time combo. So it is still worth it to play around with different combos - especially if you have not received a decent amount that you KNOW will be rewarded for a repeat combo (I think 25 is pretty decent, 15 - not so much).

Learn from my fail. Don't waste the books.

 

I am so glad I decided NOT to do this event. That being said, thanks to all who put up tips in this thread.

 

.I don't know if it helps, but there are 120 combinations. I am keeping track on a piece of paper so to avoid repeats unless I find one that gives a good amount of star coins. I haven't really kept track of the base prizes as I was focused on the star coins for the event shop. I have found 15 and 20 star coins twice each. Still early days so there is hope for some good prizes

I am back. Planted my first set of 5 island wreaths. Collected all the blue boxes except those that require keys.
I think I will be playing continuously hereforth and I AM VERY HAPPY TO BE WITH YOU ALL. Missed you all a lot.

Of course, dear hubby has another version of it now so I will have to suffer through that too LOL!

I have sort of muddled through the start of this, realised late in the day yesterday that this is a two weeker - I am happy with the drops (1,094!) and also got a +100% bonus twice on the Wheel today. CFs out on Baha (just Plantation, only using one field per crop) giving me 2,173 per field for today. May change this strategy if things get tight.

I am not too worried about repeating patterns - firstly, the little window to the right shows what I have done already and, I am sure someone has said this already, but there is a green light if it is a new pattern. I will only press to donate the books if the light goes green. So far, I have played six games and gained 60 Star Coins which, on average is 10 per game. If I do the full 50 games, that should give me 500 Star Coins - in theory!

Wondering what the max star coins that we can receive - as a base reward (ie: not counting "bonus prize for first time combo")?

So far I've only tried 5 games, and my max was 30 star coins in 1 game.

Edit: one of the bonus items I received was an old giver item: "Jingle Bell, Present Fell" This game didn't reward any star coins.

 

So far I have played 5 games and won 55 star coins. I don't know if this is good or bad. Even though I searched in the mill and games, I couldn't find it. Can someone tell me what the 'cookie' drops do? I thought I was going to grind order books in the mill with them. But no, it wasn't like that!

Can you please give a hint?

 

They are needed to progress through the main event (look at the Reward Chart).

 

Yeah they're not in the workshop, they're on the reindeer express! Thank you @illy1996 I didn't notice them because I never paid attention. I thought I'd just deliver the candles.

 

I played 5 mini games and I find I have 65 star coins. 15 + 50. Still not clear as how the star coins are rewarded. Is it a chance ? 15 star coin is showed as a reward in the reward count window. But it does not show 50 star coin. But I have a total of 65 star coins.

 

Assorted Cookies are required to open timed boxes to get Order Books, also to get the cloud row in Part one with some givers. Drops are not used in milling this time around.

 

You may have gotten a bonus reward of star coins. The window on the right shows what you won as a base prize. Each time you make a new toy arrangement you will get a bonus reward and one of the bonus possibilities is star coins, but this bonus reward is not displayed in the prize history window. If only there is only 1 entry for star coins in the reward count window (of 15) then you won those extra 50 as a bonus / bonuses.

 

Thank you @Nordais I think I'll collect the order books from the special tiles that pop up as I deliver the candles. I think I have solved most of the game now. But still, this is a very difficult game for me. I don't know how far I can go. This path is too long!
