Announcement Performance Issues

Howdy Farmers,

Regarding the performance issues players face since last Thursday. The team together with our technical department have worked hard since then and we might have found an intermediate solution to fix the issues for the players:

We will implement a button functionality that allows users to craft the maximum possible number of puzzle pieces based on their available resources.

The primary goal of this improvement is to upgrade the puzzle crafting process for our players, reducing the number of clicks and server requests required to obtain all pieces.
The proposed button functionality will operate as follows:

• The maximum number of puzzle pieces that can be crafted based on both resource limitations and the puzzle limit will appear by clicking on the button.
• If the puzzle limit is not reached, the button will remain active, allowing users to continue crafting. However, if the limit is reached, the button will be deactivated to prevent unnecessary attempts to exceed the set puzzle limit.
• The deactivation of the button will persist until the user acquires new mill products. Once new mill products are obtained, the button will be reactivated, allowing the user to craft as many pieces as their newly acquired resources permit.

By implementing this functionality, we expect a reduction in the number of API calls and database (DB) calls, contributing to a more efficient and streamlined Bday event system.

Furthermore the following action items will be done after we have proof that the possible fix solves the performance issues:

• Activate the Birthday Community Gift again to grant players who were unable to collect the chance to obtain it
• Run scripts for Daily Log in Bonus
• Run script for Birthday Calendar
• Handout ingame compensation
• Prolong Birthday Event and rebalance upcoming Firefly Event

This will take time to implement and it may not fix the current issues. We will keep you informed.​

A potential fix was found and it was synced and went live. All users were logged out in order that the new live version would be applied to each account. Sadly, the performance issues are still there, so the Team needs to investigate further.

In order to test if the event is the cause of all the performance issues, it will be disabled. If the event is not the root of the issues, it will be enabled again. If it is, it will remain disabled to fix the issues. All player progress will be saved.

The Birthday event has been disabled. Please log out and back in again to see the changes. Feedback is welcome and we request you post here. We will collect the feedback from now until 30 January at 10:00 when it will be forwarded to the Game Team for review.

Howdy Farmers,

It has been confirmed that the Birthday Event was the cause of such poor game performance since Thursday. The Game Team is aware that some issues remain, but overall things should be better. The event will not be enabled today, but the Team will do their best to bring it back as soon as possible. All progress will be saved.

Additional actions and information include:

• The Birthday calendar has been extended to Friday, 2 February at 23:59. A script will run this week to cover the days between Thursday, 25th January through yesterday, 29 January. Any Barnyard Bills spent on opening a calendar day will be refunded.
• A script for the Daily Login Bonus will also be run for 25th January - 29th January.
• The next event will likely be rebalanced in order for the birthday event to run in parallel
• A compensation package is also planned for Friday. More details will follow.

Here is an update for game related information:

• The Birthday Event will be enabled tomorrow again. Starts: Wednesday, 31st of January at 14:00 and Ends: Monday, 5th of February at 22:00. If we encounter again massive performance issues – which is unlikely – we will disable the event again, but we are optimistic and confident.
• We will enable the Birthday Community Gift from Wednesday, 31st of January at 14:00 until Monday, 5th of February at 22:00 for players who didn't claim it yet
• The first script (for Calendar) started running. It will take some time so please be patient.
• Developers started working on the script for Daily Login Bonus. We will keep you updated.
• Game Developers are rebalancing the Firefly Event.
• Compensation is planned to start on Friday, 2nd of February at 14:00 and will be active for 1 week (claimable via news, once per user account). We will keep you updated with final details.
