    Hello all,

I don't understand why it stays so quiet on the Englisch forum, maybe we players have ideas / feedback to change that here.

    Hi Thea,

    Nice to see you here...
I would love to have you as my friend...

We had a Dutch friend.... habalala.... he passed away.
    I miss him so much.

    now
What do you think.. What do you think ... Why is the German forum active?

    and
Have you ever looked at other forums? (Portuguese, Romanian, Greek... etc.)
    Why are those forums quiet?

I've only experience with the English forum and have found it chatty enough for my time and interests, so I can't imagine what it must be like on the other, more active, Forums :D

In thinking about Thea's comment, perhaps it's simply due to the time/personality/age of current players? I'm in my mid-70s, retired, and played another farm game for eight years before it changed platforms and I preferred not to go to the new one. A friend suggested Farmerama, and here I am three years later, and enjoy everything about the game. Lots of diversity for people to find their niche and work and play in a manner most suitable to them. As I age, real life situations change, and I think that's true for most of us. Other things may need more time and focus. I do my best to not spend as much time here as I did before as it distracts from real life which needs to be my main focus.

I welcome new players and hope the Forum continues to be a place where everyone feels welcome and comfortable to share as much (or as little) as they like!

I also had habalala as a dear friend:inlove: and when he said he was very ill it sadden me, I too miss him and his humor!
I think this forum has so many different countries and so many different time zones it is hard to come and chat as often as we might like but we do our best. I am sure you will find a group to connect with, good luck to you all, and Welcome to the EN forum!

It is a puzzle to me to, especially wen thinking about the shear number of english players.
The amount of chit chat in each thread is very low.
Most responses stall at 30-50. Even the views in each post are mostly belowe 2500

What I noticed is: that threads are closed incredibley fast. There is no community feel either wen reading the forum. There are not much games inside the forum like we had. No coffee table conversations about general things.
Maby the Brittish crowd in general is more individual minded then the Dutch??

Other resons might be that there are a lot of non native speakers that are forced here and just don't feel at ease writing in a other language. Using translate back and forward is a extra stepp and absolutly annoying. ( I don't care about grammar mistakes, you force me to write in English, you deal with the errors:p)

I notice myself that the amount of fun I have in the game is going downhill fast, several neigbours already quit the game.
For a part because of the lack community here and the extra barrier wen searching for stuff and playing the game. Starting the game in dutch and wanting to search for information is a no go. First you have to log out, log in at the English game, then you can go to the forum.

    Hello thea1963,

You are right about the forum being too quiet, but like the others said players in the English forum are streched into all sorts of time zones with different interests. We have Aussies, Kiwis, Brits, North Americans with Norwegian & Turkish players too. So it's impossible to get a set number of people at the same time in the forum chatting about their favorite sports' teams or events ongoing in their respetive countries. Many players have taken the habit of private messaging too. Many new players do not speak English too, I don't know the numbers of new players joining and quiting and where they're mainly from. The majority of my new neighbours do no speak English at all and yet they were able to send neighbours' requests.

The most important thing is that when a player needs help and posts, they can get an answer fast. It's back to school/work season and people do get less free time.

Hi everyone .... here is doll 4 ..... unfortunately it cannot be seen from my avatar, it is empty, such a shame .... and yes, first log out and then log in again in English, that is to make it easy ... . I understand that many cannot find it or find it too cumbersome.....and the language....

I still managed to put on a dress...

    Tip! @Butsmuts and @popje4
You can log in at the game in English... open the english Forum... leave the english forum open... and than login to the Dutch game... That way you can play in Dutch en read the forum in english... you can even do the same with the german forum...
This is how I do it... I play in Dutch and read the german and english forum...

    Maybe this can help you.
Good luck and have fun with the game!:D

    Morning Borkie.
The searching part is no issue for personally.
For a part I now play in English or German, because otherwise I have to translate back and forward in my mind al the items in the game.
I hate it/despise playing it in a other language. It for a part unalives the fun( the word I inteded I think is not permitted)
I also dislike it a lot that mods/BP keep altering posts and private messages because certain words and expressions we are used to are forbidden.

The bigger issue for now is, how are we going to help others, can we preform kind of CPR on this the forum.
The players, we all, make or break it. No matter what country we are from.
Throwing out 12 years feels like a waste, and I know BP knows we feel like that and counts on us to stay and spend time and money.

    So:
*Do we Dutch try to become mods?
    *Would they let us?
*Could we invite our neighbours in the game to go to the forum and try to flood it with Dutch players? ( flood, water, Dutch;))
*Could other Turkish/Finnish players do the same?
*Should we try and start more topics like we had before?

Lets try and think of things to improve it all.

I too miss habalala very much. I remember that once he told me when I stayed late in the forum to go to sleep and not to stay late in night. That was very caring of him. He will always be in my and our thoughts.

I agree with my friends above. Englisg forum is a mixture of various countries all over the world, different timings. And yes the age, profession, occupation, health and real life work load all matters. When I started the game in 2010, I could log intot the game 4 or 5 times a day and post lots of posts with several paras. But now real life make me spend only very little time for the game. But if you post a help or request thread, you get help immediately.

    And
Welcome to English Forum ! Hope we have great time together !

I'll add my reminisces of habalala and say he is thought of and missed.

I won't even try to discuss all the various possible reasons for the forum to be quieter than other forums, but I think sanddollar15 said it best in another thread that there may not be a lot of us, but we are a caring community, and try our best to help, support and encourage each other both in terms of game and real life situations.

You are all welcome to the forum, and can just jump right in.

In situations like this, I tend to think of and be reminded of the Girl Scout song that in part says:

Make new friends, but keep the old,
One is silver and the other gold. :)

When you join the EN forum, not only will you be able to chat with your Dutch friends, but you will find players all over the globe to get to know. This is a kind and caring forum so come on in, have some lemonade, sit on the porch and stay awhile :)

    Hello,
I have entered the forum since today.

My native language is Dutch and I am now using Deepl to translate my sentences into somewhat decent English.

Since the Dutch forum stopped, I miss the contact, the nonsensical games and just poking around in the topics.
I normally have no trouble with English, but often I log in at night before going to bed and my battery is fairly empty. Then it becomes difficult for me to concentrate on the texts anymore.

Glad I discovered the forum today. I hope I will slowly find the enthusiasm in the game again. Because, as also mentioned above, I would consider it a shame if I stop playing the game after more than 14 years.

    Greetings and a big hug,

    Jolanda
