All about the Howie Donut effect.

    Howie Donut
    [IMG]
Gives: 5% drop increase for the playfield it is placed on
    Size: 1x1

Some say Howie Donut does not affect drops
Some say it only affects the regular drop amount
Does Howie Donut affect event drops?
    Let's try it

    Tomorrow, I'll share some results.

You can see the difference before and after using Howie Donut.

Getting better results in short-term crops.

    I'll try later...

Interesting and thanks for the screen share. That's a lot of Howies! I'm not a long-time, experienced player so don't have much knowledge of the many factors which affect drop rates. I am curious to know what would be results without all the howies on the field and just using the one that covers all fields which we donate to the tree. Also, do any CR buffs - or other buffs - affect the drop rates. My math skills are minimal and I do best with visual aides. Seeing the screen shot with all the Howies immediately makes me think, what if there were only 47, or 45, etc. instead of 48!

Yes, there are a lot of Howies...

    My strategy is,

I use 1x1 plots on all fields

First, manually harvest 20 1x1 plots
put 20 Howies on the field
manually harvest 28 more 1x1 plots
put 28 more Howies on the field

Then I harvest the rest.. :)

Already a howie donated to the tree.

I guess my question would have to be.... for a player who has been playing long enough to acquire that many Howies.... do you really need to do all that work? I have ONE Howie, donated to the tree, and it has been eight years since I struggled to get drops, in any situation. So, wouldn't it be easier to do what amounts to one or two extra harvests, rather than all that strategic Howie placing?

With the harvester, it's not that hard. You just need to erase manually plots and use the harvester to place down the Howies. Usually the drops for events on the main field(s) are not a problem after you have placed 1 Howie in the Tree of Wisdom. I'd be curious to see the result with the 48 Howies during the super hard Baha event with the 2 different paths and 2 different event crops.

I got 41 of 48 Howie Donuts in the last 3 G&Ts and got them because of some floral Tunes or something items..

I prefer to use Howie Donuts in harvest instead of instant crops in events,
Sometimes you need 5000-6000 drops to complete some events....

Then it is almost impossible to complete the event without instant crops...

But if you have enough Howies, it is possible to complete these types of events without instant crops..

I saved about 3000 super grows this way in the last Great Chase event.

Howie Donut is also one of the best trade items..
Tomorrow I will try it with trees on the main field. I wonder how many lucky dice I will get this way.

With each Howie Donut giving a 5% increased chance for drops, you reach a point where you don't need that many. I think you will have a better idea where the saturation level is if you capture each stage of the harvesting process.

    Drops before
Drops after harvesting manually the 20 spaces
Placing 20 Howies and drops after manually harvesting 28 more spaces
    Final drops

The reason for this is that you have 20/XX with no Howie, 28/XX with 20 Howies, and then XX/XX with 48 Howies.

Good for you that you found what works best for you :)

I think that is probably a good amount of wooden mallets for a single harvest of a 5 hour crop. It is a very rare tool with a very low drop rate.

I get similar results with the feather collector (red arm with white glove) when harvesting refined roses.
